Albert's spot is great! It has an amazing view, is in a great location, and is super comfortable. There are alot of thoughtful amenities (snorkel gear, etc.), and the patio kitchen is tons of fun to cook in. Staying there really felt like home for my girlfriend and I.
Stayed for five lovely days in March at Al's Coffee Farm Guest House. It was beautiful! When we first go there, all the coffee bushes were blooming and it smelled wonderful. I woke up early to the birds, and turkey calls, had coffee and watched the sunrise sitting on the lanai. It was close enough to town, but far enough away to not feel like we were on the busier part of the island. The lovely neighbors at the coffee farm up the hill waved to us as we went off to our daily adventures. If you are someone who needs to sleep in, and is light sensitive, bring eye covers, as there are no curtains, the windows face west, so it is a gradual nice wake up. For us, it was great to wake with the morning. It was comfortable, and peaceful. Thank you!
Wonderfully remodeled unit in coffee country. Quiet location surrounded by all sorts of wild life. Nice view of the coast.
Beautiful setting, accommodations, and location! Close enough to Kailua-Kona for dinner and groceries but far enough away to feel isolated from the crowds.
I stayed for five nights at Albert's Place together with my girlfriend and we both fell in love at first sight. The accommodation is amazing, the view from the location is more than awesome and there is really everything you need. We already decided, that our stay won't be the last stay at Albert's Place. Thanks for everything, Albert!
My husband and I really enjoyed staying at Albert's place. We had never visited the Big island and the location was perfect for us -wonderful views from the lanai and a peaceful setting , lots of birds . Next time we will stay longer. Thanks Albert
We loved our stay at Albert and Linda's ocean view coffee farm guest house. The accommodations are exactly as pictured, spectacularly renovated with a fully stocked kitchen on the lanai, luxury bathroom and surround sound entertainment system. And the private reserve AL coffee from the farm is a perfect way to start each morning!
The guest house is the entire lower floor, and despite sharing a ceiling with the main house above, it's very private with it's own entrance, lanai, and yard.
The Kona side of the island can get quite hot, but at 1500 feet of elevation the weather at the guest house was perfect, warm during the day and cool enough to sleep peacefully at night.
The surroundings were incredibly peaceful, with gorgeous views from the lanai, the living room and bedroom. Outside there's plenty of wildlife, from song birds to little lizards, chickens to wild turkeys, and even the occasional feral pig or mongoose (on the other side of the farm fence). Make sure you're the kind of person who enjoys these things - this is luxury living, but it's a different kind of luxury than staying at a high-end resort with feet of soundproofing in each wall!
The big island lives up to its name, and is much bigger than the other Hawaiian islands. Still, we found Kona to be the perfect area to stay with plenty to do in the area, while the rest of the island still accessible - like a highly recommended day trip down to Volcanoes National Park.
Albert is a great down to earth man and a great host. His directions were clear, including a wonderful set of driving directions complete with landmarks and pictures. We truly loved our stay and can't wait for our next trip to the big island!
I had a fabulous and relaxing stay at the coffee farm. This is one fantastic experience where reality is better than the depicted photos. While I had slight difficulties locating the farm in the darkness of the night, (website hidden) map was extremely helpful.
From the bedroom and living room, you have a panoramic view of the island. The open kitchen was ideal for cooking although every day brought a new wildlife visitor (grasshopper, lizard, ants, etc).
On top of that, the complimentary Kona coffee was delicious. Thank you, Albert!
Al's Coffee Farm Guest Apartment and the surrounding area was beautiful. Perfect location to travel to Kona and other parts of the Island.
We were a little unsure of where Al's farm ended and the UCC farm began, but either way it was peaceful.
The supplied coffee was great, but we wish we could have purchased more to take home with us.
The large overhead shower head just on it's own is very luxurious, but there is a second shower head that can be held for double the fancy showering.
The outside kitchen seemed neat, but there are a lot of mosquitoes at night. Night time cooking is a bit of a battle if you have tasty flesh like we must have.
We recommend stocking up on whatever mosquito repellent you prefer. Mosquito citronella coils were provided.
The bed was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept on.
We recommend trying a Kona Sugarloaf (white) pineapple if they're in season. Best pineapple we've ever ate.
I have to admit, we really miss the charming atmosphere, the great views and the shower.
We had a great time at this wonderfull apartment. The setting is great, with a beautfull view and a perfect aparment which includes everything you would need for your stay. Although we did not meet Albert during our stay, he was very supportive to make our stay as perfect as possible.
