Stay in my old art studio, remodeled to sleep 2 in a Queen bed, PRIVATE ENTRANCE and private bathroom. Located in downtown Steamboat on city bus route. A 'fridge, microwave, toaster and coffee pot make it easy to fix a light snack. Four miles to ski area. Clean and quiet.
My room is behind the main house with a separate entrance. It feels like your own space. I made it very personal.
Besides a clean and comfortable room, we are a destination resort. There are our famous Hot Springs and Ski Area, but Steamboat can offer the best of both, small town feel and big town food, spas, art, museums and free transportation.
Interaction with Guests
I have found my calling helping people find their way around town for adventure and good places to eat. My rental room was originally my art studio, built after the main house. I try to greet everyone, but if I am at work, I can leave keys so no one is waiting to "check in". I try to give everyone privacy. That makes my room stand out from having to walk thru someones house to get to your room. It is a special place for someone to rent and feel like it is your own place.
I love being in the "old town" part of Steamboat where there are great places to eat. Being downtown gives you great access to the core trail for walking or biking. A 5 min. drive to the main grocery stores and just a few min. more and you are at Mt. Werner!
Steamboat Springs Transit stops right behind my house. We also have Alpine Taxi and there now are 2 shuttles that will drive you to the Strawberry Park Hot Springs (15 min away).
Other Things to Note
A nice bottle of wine and custom stationary in room. Small fridge will hold food for a quick snack before hitting the slopes or those numerous bike trails around Steamboat. The price of the room
includes $8.80 per night to cover the cost of City, State and Lodging TAXES.
Wireless internet access in room.
No PETS and no smoking
No laundry facilities
What an amazing time we had in steamboat. Cully's studio could not have been more perfect for our weekend stay! It was totally private and very clean!! She had everything you could imagine: snacks, sunscreen, toothbrushes, coffee, and even a bottle if wine! And the list goes on. I would recommend this place to anyone heading up to steamboat springs! Thanks cully!
Cully was a great host. The room was very clean, comfortable, and private, and it was well-stocked with everything you might need (plus a bottle of wine!).
My only complaint was that the driveway was a bit tricky to get up. We were driving a small front-wheel-drive-only car in the middle of a snow storm. We made it up with a bit of perseverance. If you had four-wheel drive or were visiting in better weather, you would probably have no problem getting up.
I will certainly stay here again if ever I'm back in Steamboat Springs.
We loved our stay at Cullys! The space was equipped with anything you might need to enjoy your time in Steamboat. Cully was friendly and left good tips for where to eat, places to see, etc. The space was clean and comfortable. And its location is an easy walk to the downtown area!
The only draw back was that it was a bit treacherous getting up the slope in the snow and ice.
Cully's place was absolutely perfect and just as described. The private entrance really makes it feel like your own little place and Cully has gone out of her way to provide everything someone on vacation in Steamboat would need, like a duffle bag and beach towels for the hot springs! The room was very clean and the bed is nice and comfortable. The complimentary hot chocolate, coffee, tea, popcorn and wine was great and all the paintings in the room were truly beautiful. We will definitely be staying with Cully again when we're back in Steamboat Springs!
The room was terrific, everything it was advertised to be! Very cozy, very private. Cully made us feel very welcome, and even invited us up to the deck of the main house for a drink while we watched the fireworks of the 2015 winter carnival.
The two of us found Cully's place comfortable and convenient for three days of skiing/boarding at Steamboat and walking into town for a couple of excellent dinners. The room is clean, quiet and comfortable. Cozy (don't bring a ton of wet gear) and quite well equipped for breakfasts. We really liked Steamboat, too.
My wife and I had a great time at Cully's. Before we had even arrived, she let us know that we could arrive early and check out late because no one else was staying before or after us, which was very nice. The room was in very good condition, small but well stocked with everything in the description. We even had a bottle of wine and 2 bottles of OJ in the fridge which worked out great with our breakfast we brought to make in the room. Unfortunately, we did not get a chance to meet Cully face to face since we were skiing all day, but we had ZERO questions or issues due to the preparation of the room by her! Would definitely stay again!
I am an artist who lives in paradise. I enjoy walking my whippet dog around our many trails nearby. I have traveled to Alaska to camp with the grizzly bears in Katmai (one of my favorite trips), Hawaii, Iceland (needed more than 10 days there!!!), Puerto Rico (for a live painting job for a big corporation), Mexico (went to art school there) and many places in the continental U.S. mostly the National Parks... but it is hard to leave when you live in such a beautiful place. There is no lack of inspiration in my town. I read alot, love movies at home with popcorn and wine (no really...it's good together!), and cooking on my new gas stove with my son a chef in Vail Colorado when he comes home to visit. My daughter is at NYU and we talk almost every day...she lives a fun life style and I live thru her sometimes. I listen to music most of the day while I work in my studio. When you come to stay with me in "Ski Town USA", you
will find my x-art studio room full of paintings, with a pleasant view out a huge window into the aspen trees. The room is totally separate from the main house, and I made it comfortable with some "goodies" like your own popcorn, tea, cider, hot chocolate, coffee and your own bottle of wine. I have left some stationary with some of my artwork for you to remember me by and send a piece of Steamboat to your friends. I think you will feel at home!
