The Space

My room is behind the main house with a separate entrance. It feels like your own space. I made it very personal.

Guest Access

Besides a clean and comfortable room, we are a destination resort. There are our famous Hot Springs and Ski Area, but Steamboat can offer the best of both, small town feel and big town food, spas, art, museums and free transportation.

Interaction with Guests

I have found my calling helping people find their way around town for adventure and good places to eat. My rental room was originally my art studio, built after the main house. I try to greet everyone, but if I am at work, I can leave keys so no one is waiting to "check in". I try to give everyone privacy. That makes my room stand out from having to walk thru someones house to get to your room. It (email hidden) for someone to rent and feel like it is your own place.

The Neighborhood

I love being in the "old town" part of Steamboat where there are great places to eat. Being downtown gives you great access to the core trail for walking or biking. A 5 min. drive to the main grocery stores and just a few min. more and you are at Mt. Werner!

Getting around

Steamboat Springs Transit stops right behind my house. We also have Alpine Taxi and there now are 2 shuttles that will drive you to the Strawberry Park Hot Springs (15 min away).

Other Things to Note

A nice bottle of wine and custom stationary in room. Small fridge will hold food for a quick snack before hitting the slopes or those numerous bike trails around Steamboat. The price of the room
includes $8.80 per night to cover the cost of City, State and Lodging TAXES.
Wireless internet access in room.

  • Cully's room was perfect for our weekend in Steamboat and Cully was a wonderful hostess! The room is cozy, but had everything we needed for our stay. The private entrance allowed us to come and go easily without worrying about bothering anyone. Cully went out of her way to make sure that we knew about the special 4th of July events going on in town while we were there. We had early morning plans on the 5th, and Cully welcomed us (with freshly popped pop corn!) into her house to watch the fireworks from her balcony on the 4th so that we could get to bed early. In addition to a great view down the valley from the house, the location was great for walking down to main street (the bus stop for the shuttle was also near by, but the walk into town was only about 10 minutes, so we never bothered with it).

  • This is a great little, quiet spot in a nice neighborhood that's really convenient to get to the town center or to great hiking in Fish Creek. Cully has thought of every little amenity to include in the room for either a one-day stay or multiple days. I would definitely stay here again.

  • This was my first personal experience with AirBnB as the arranging guest, and I must say everything went splendidly! Cully was very communicative, let me know right where everything was, had a great local information sheet at the ready, and the room was cozy and well stocked and very private, just like in the description. We didn't actually get to chat until the second day, just to give you a sense of how well set up everything was ahead of time, and when we did get to meet Cully was warm and welcoming. The location too was perfect, just a little ways above town but well within easy walking distance, as there is a foot path that cuts across the roads and brings you right to the edge of town. I walked into town each evening for dinner and drinks, enjoying the spring/summer conditions.

I will definitely be checking back in with Cully for my next, hopefully soon visit to Steamboat.

  • Dede and I stayed at Cully's place after a day of skiing at Steamboat. The room is at the back of her house with its own private entrance which is nice. Amenities include a microwave, bar fridge, and a variety of glasses, dishes, and cutlery - perfect for fixing snacks. A particularly nice touch was the bottle of self-labelled wine Cully left in the fridge! The bed was comfortable and we both got a good sleep. I'm happy to recommend Cully's place to anyone looking to spend one or more nights in Steamboat Springs!

  • Cully's place in steamboat was perfect! Plenty of room, very private, close to town and skiing. Cully was (email hidden) offering a list of the best places to eat and drink in steamboat, advice on activities, and other great recommendations.

  • We had a wonderful time here, and couldn't have been more pleased with the value we received at such a bargain! Cully went out of her way to make our stay comfortable, fun, and easy to plan. She provided info on all her favorite spots in town, instructions for getting to and using the hot springs, and a great deal more. We will definitely be back again.

  • We stayed with Cully for the weekend. The room is private surrounded by beautiful aspens, is very comfortable and nicely decorated with Cully's own art! There is a fridge, coffee maker, and toaster - and Cully kindly offers coffee, hot chocolate, tea, and even popcorn! Other nice touches were a bag and towels to take to the hot springs and the information on things to do and places to go. Location is great in a quiet neighborhood but close to downtown (and a bus to downtown). I would definitely recommend a stay!

About
I am an artist who lives in paradise. I enjoy walking my whippet dog around our many trails nearby. I have traveled to Alaska to camp with the grizzly bears in Katmai (one of my favorite trips), Hawaii, Iceland (needed more than 10 days there!!!), Puerto Rico ((email hidden) painting job for a big corporation), Mexico (went to art school there) and many places in the continental U.S. mostly the National Parks... but it is hard to leave when you live in (email hidden)ere is no lack of inspiration in my town. I read alot, love movies at home with popcorn and wine (no really...it's good together!), and cooking on my new gas stove with my son a chef in Vail Colorado when he comes home to visit. My daughter is at NYU and we talk almost every day...she (email hidden) style and I live thru her sometimes. I listen to music most of the day while I work in my studio. When you come to stay with me in "Ski Town USA", you will find my x-art studio room full of paintings, with a pleasant view out a huge window into the aspen trees. The room is totally separate from the main house, and I made it comfortable with some "goodies" like your own popcorn, tea, cider, hot chocolate, coffee and your own bottle of wine. I have left some stationary with some of my artwork for you to remember me by and send a piece of Steamboat to your friends. I think you will feel at home!
