Private & comfortable cabin with all essential amenities (1 bedroom, bathroom with hot water, free wifi). Located 4km from La Fortuna town and facing to Arenal Volcano. Fully equipped kitchen (shared area) , Hot Spring swimming pool, parking lot.
The bedroom has a double and a single bed, as well as bathroom with hot water.
The location is VERY quite, surrounded by nature and the Arenal Volcano literally as background. The town is it pretty close (less than 4km, so you can spend less than 10 minutes getting there).
You will have access to free wifi internet connection, a fully equipped kitchen area, which is shared for all the clients but spacious enough all the cabins is available for you anytime if you what to cook some or all your meals.
We also own a natural hot springs, so the swimming pool in our property is filled with that hot water and it runs constantly the whole time, so it has fresh water all the time.
Interaction with Guests
This property belongs to very close friends of mine, so I won't be there for your arrival, but this lovely family will take good care of you, they will also help you out with anything (they barely speak English, but anyway I would be one one click away), so if you need anything you can call me or send me a text message anytime.
The neighborhood is literally a big farm which stats right from the the main entrance, the owners house is pretty close from the cabins, you if you need something, it is just few steps away. The location is very safe as well as the parking lot.
For getting to Fortuna town you can do it by taxi, because it is not in a waking distance or if you are renting a car, you won't have any problem.
Other Things to Note
After the reservation is confirmed, I will send you a document with plenty information about thing to do, recommendations from restaurants, and also GPS coordinates and a video about the location.
We were not so sure when making the reservation mainly because we have a five years old. But it turns out to be a perfect choice! First, the room is clean and right at the bottom of the volcano! Air is fresh and they have their own hot spring pools, and water is much cleaner than those commercial and expensive ones! Location is superb, and is in the middle of the town and the national park. Roy is nice and his friend gave us rides to groceries and restaurants. They even sell eggs from their own farm, which my wife likes the most! My 5 years old is happy as well because of the pools and cows! Lastly, it costs 1/3 or 1/2 of commercial hotels with smaller rooms and no cooking ware.
Very lovely place! We spent three nights there and were delighted with the heated pools, which were very nice for soaking at the end of a hard day of hiking and adventure. The woman working at the reception house was very warm and accommodating. When a hotel we were planning to stay at in Nosara cancelled our reservation, she allowed us to use the phone to square away other accommodations, which took a lot of stress off our minds. Though we never officially met the host Roy, we were told he called and asked about us to insure everything was ok. All told, we felt very taken care of. Top notch staff and a nice quiet place...everything we wanted and more.
-Strong wi-fi in cabin
-Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff
-Quiet. It's off the main road a bit, so no traffic noise at night.
-A little difficult to find (though Roy provides ample instructions on how to find it)
-The road leading up to the property is unpaved and a little rough, though we managed despite not having a 4-wheel drive car.
-It's about 1 km off the main route, Rte 142, so unless you have your own vehicle, it's not very convenient for getting to and from the main town which is a few kilometers away. We had our own car, though, so this wasn't really a problem for us.
In short, we would definitely stay here again, though only if we had our own vehicle. Great place!
Roy was always quick to reply. We had a wonderful 1week stay here with our 1year old daughter. Thr hot springs right outside our door were great! Nuria, the owner, and her family are super sweet and accommodating. Eventhough, she didn't speaj English and we didn't speak Spanish, we could always understabd eachother :). Would definately come back here again. Good to know: the bed was a little hard and you need a 4x4 to get up the hill.
Staying in Roy's apt was great. We enjoyed to be in the walking distance from everything La Fortuna got to offer. We liked it enough to stay an extra night! Our 1 year old daughter really enjoyed crawling all around this safe and clean apt.
