Three golden Rules
1. Pension Berlin is my baby, please handle it with care!
2. You are not alone! If you come back late or get up early, please try to be quiet.
3. Our good old friend Immanuel Kant and his categorical imperative.
I really enjoyed my stay in the Golden Room and would highly recommend Frank's place and the fantastic surrounding area.
The property is truly unique. The reception area as you enter is a mini museum to cult German film auteur Rainer Werner Fassbinder and it's damn cool. It's a lovely place to sit by morning and by night. The floor has old coins inlayed into it and this and the rest of the quirky, bohemian fittings transports you into another world. The bedroom is really comfortable, with a lovely comfy bed and the shower room has a really great shower.
The area is very cool and there's a U-bahn stop 1 minute away that can get you just about anywhere in under 1/2 an hour. Next door to Frank is an awesome burger place that does sit in and take out burgers that are out of this world. There are loads of places doing a proper Berlin brunch and any number of very cool bars and cafes serving good food with beautiful lighting and nice, laid back atmospheres.
Frank is a lovely, discreet, friendly host and his hosting style is unique in that he really suits his place. It's very him, which is really nice.
It's basically a very cool boutique hotel and I would highly recommend staying. I had a peak in the bigger room when the other guests had vacated it and, it looked really very cool too.
High recommended! Thanks Frank!
Ganz wunderbar! Ich komme wieder. Auf jeden Fall.
I have stayed in more than 100 different Airbnb places over the last 4 years but this was the most interesting and influential on me personally for the work Frank has done with his amazing place is remarkable. It is the 1st time ever that I have seen a floor composed entirely of coins of many countries. On the walls are interesting and inspirational artistic and politically astute posters and awesome messages. The bed is most comfortable, the shower works very well, toothpaste and shampoo is provided and the coffee machine and coffee is excellent. Best of all is the location which is highly convenient for the subway station. Next door is excellent take away food and the bar 2 doors away is a happening place that is busy all night and day with most interesting people. I therefore highly recommend Frank's place to anyone coming to fascinating Berlin.
Frank was erg vriendelijk, had een persoonlijke benadering zonder opdringerig te zijn, en stopt dichtbaar veel zorg in zijn B&B. Kamer was heel schoon. Dat gold ook voor de badkamer: deze moest ik delen met andere gasten, maar dat was aan de properheid totaal niet te merken. Vlakbij de metro en bij aangename restaurantjes.
I had an apsolutely fabulous time at Frank's place. Frank was super welcoming and help me find everything I needed when I first arrived. The Flophouse is super cool and has really great vibes. The place is super close to the train and has numerous restaurants within walking distance. The bed was also super comfortable. All around it was a great stay.
Frank was an amazing host -incredibly kind and welcoming! His hotel is very quirky, and the room super comfortable. Thank you, frank!

About the Host, Frank
A long time ago...I moved to the city, that I love, Berlin, and finally, with a lots of love, passion and help from my friends, I created the "Pension Berlin", known as the city´s smallest "hotel".
Be my guest and feel like beeing part of the art and this beautiful city. The "Pension Berlin" offers you, besides lots of artworks, the smallest and the one and only Rainer Werner Fassbinder Memorial Shrine.
Willkommen, bienvenue, wecome!
