Cozy little cabin in Guerneville, a hate free community in the heart of Sonoma County Wine Country! Enjoy both natural beauty and culinary decadence in the region named #2 wine destination in the world by Tripadvisor in 2012.

The Space

This is a modest, clean, functional home with original art throughout. The open floor plan, gas faux-wood burning stove, and hardwood floors give you both the joy of a country cabin and comfort and convenience of uncluttered, fully furnished space.

Let me know about any dietary restrictions that you have, I like to leave the kitchen stocked with locally grown and made goodies for your breakfast!

Guest Access

The entire two bedroom, one bathroom home, back Sun deck, and private parking spaces in front of the home.

Interaction with Guests

There is a combination keypad lock, the combo to which I change between guests and send you in advance so that you are able to let yourself in. I am always available via telephone to answer any questions, as well as help you with any aspect of your stay that you wish. I am sometimes available to check you in personally, upon request. I split my time between Guerneville and San Francisco, so myself or my girlfriend Trish may be staying in the second unit on the property while you are there or we may not. Sometimes Trish works in the garage during the day, so you may see her in passing. You are ensured privacy and exclusive access to the front unit.

The Neighborhood

Guerneville is only 15 miles to the coast, and the gorgeous hiking trails of the Sonoma Coast state park and Goat Rock Beach. Armstrong Woods state park which is home to redwood trees over 1,000 years of age is right in Guerneville. There are several Russian River beaches with swimming holes within ten minutes driving from the house.

The town has a thriving and prominent LGBTQ community which is very inclusive of everyone, not just people who are LGBTQ themselves. It makes Guerneville a comfortable and relaxing place to be you, whoever you happen to be. It really is a "hate free community" as our town welcome sign states.

We are very close to the wine trails leading from West Sonoma to Dry Creek and Healdsburg. The house is a beautiful 30 minute drive from two of my favorite tasting rooms, Porter Creek and Iron Horse.

Restaurants in town that we love are the Garden Grill for basic breakfasts or casual BBQ (this is easy walking distance from the house) and Boon is consistently delicious. Next to Boon you'll find the Korean-fusion pop-up which makes a great burger and fries! A 30 minute drive down the winding Bohemian highway to the town of Occidental brings you to Howards the absolute best brunch spot around, with delish gluten-free waffles, traditional and locally inspired benedicts, a full menu of healthy juices and smoothies, and more.

Country Dan hosts Karaoke 5 nights a week in town, the crowd at the Triple R is always welcoming and jovial. (website hidden) has his schedule. The famous Rainbow Cattle Company is another very friendly night life environment with a great mix of locals and visitors, pool table, and back patio.

We have a yoga studio, nail salon, and an esoteric new-age learning center in town- what more do you need?!

Getting around

This home is easy taxi distance to and from town.
There is plenty of private parking at the house.

Sonoma County Airport (STS) is a 30 minute drive on beautiful country roads to and from Guerneville, there are rental cars available at the airport. The airport is small and efficient, with daily flights on Alaska to LAX and SEA/TAC as well as PDX.

Other Things to Note

The home is currently undergoing ongoing minor exterior cosmetic renovations. Work will not be occurring during your stay and does not effect the comfort of the interior, however note the discounted price because of the outside being a little ugly!

All Sonoma County codes and tax regulations are followed and taken care of.

  • Trish and Irene are great host. There home is very spacious, bright and open. There is a beautiful deck off the dining room equipped with barbecue for alfresco dining. The bathroom is very spacious. I loved the deep jet tub. There was plenty of fresh linen and they provided us with the best fresh bread, eggs, cream, and coffee. There place is less than 5 minute drive to Johnsons resort, Armstrong state park, and downtown. In addition to 5 mins walking distance to a local park for our 2 yo daughter. We had a great stay!

  • The place is awesome and huge! It's in a quiet neighborhood that's really close to town. There are really cool paintings all over the walls! The included snacks and drinks were great -- farm fresh eggs, bread, ice cream!

The apartment has a programmable lock, so you don't have to worry about scheduling a key pickup, which is very convenient. (In fact, we never met our hosts in person.)

  • Trish and Irene were awesome hosts... fresh bread, fruit, eggs, and cream were waiting for us! Very clean and comfy!
And let me tell you, they have the most plush sheets on the master bed! Thanks for sharing your house, we had a great stay!

  • What a cool place! Looks exactly like the pictures. The outdoor space is perfect for grilling (which we did) and sitting down to eat. Combined with super comfy beds and a lovely welcome spread of bread and coffee it was an ideal rest stop before our trip down the river. Stay here, stay here, stay here!!

  • Trish and Irene were fantastic hosts. Their place is clean, cozy and extra comfortable. It has every household item you'll need and some great art to look at. Plus the extra touches like the fresh local food they left for us were extraordinary. Would recommend their place to anyone staying in Guerneville.

See you next time I'm in the area!

  • We had a very comfortable stay at Irene & Trish's home. We arrived late at night and slept soundly in their comfortable bed. Loved the funky artwork all around. In the morning, we were so pleased to find fresh eggs, bread, and coffee left for us in the kitchen! We had fun cooking a hot breakfast and eating outside on the lovely patio surrounded by flowers. Thank you, Trish & Irene, for a wonderful stay while we were up north!

  • We just got back from a wonderful night at Trish and Irene's place in Guerneville.
The place is as nice as it looks in the photos.
The location is in a lovely and quiet neighborhood, close to town.
We loved the light, the open space and the artwork.
Rooms and sitting area were so comfortable.
Irene and Trish were very welcoming - they'd left all the fixings for a fabulous breakfast which we enjoyed inside although we could have done so on their enclosed patio.
They'd left detailed reviews on dining and attractions in the area as well as clear and concise instructions for the house.
If we're ever in the area again, we'll be sure to see if their home is available.
    Highly recommended!

  • What a great place and what an outstanding experience! Even before our trip began our hosts promptly and graciously answered any questions or concerns. When we arrived we were so delighted to find the home as shown in photos - bright, cheerful, comfortable and very clean. The kitchen was fully stocked and we were treated to fresh fruit, chocolates, fresh bread, butter, eggs, cream and thoughtful and generous! The outdoor space was absolutely charming and we enjoyed some alfresco dining! While we were expecting limited outdoor space due to construction, we did not experience that. The setting was just lovely. And the neighborhood was very quiet, which was an extra perk. This was our first Airbnb experience and it (email hidden) for future rentals that we can only hope would be as great as this one. Irene and Trish we thank you sharing your home with us and being such fantastic hosts!!
