The Jungfrau apartment is a great hiking/skiing base in a very quiet central location. The views of the Eiger North Face, the glacier and the Schreckhorn are breathtaking and the train station is within walking distance.
Apartment Jungfrau, on the second floor of a modern chalet has a full glass front allowing great views of the mighty Eiger, the Schreckhorn as well as the Grindelwald glacier. The apartment has two bedrooms, one with a queen bed, the other with twin beds. The bathroom has a bath tub which doubles as a shower. The open plan living - dining room / kitchen is comfortable and modern. The kitchen is brand new. The big balcony has a table and chairs, so you can eat outside and optimally enjoy the views. Wireless internet and satellite TV/DVD are included. Covered parking is free. There are laundry facilities downstairs and the apartment has underfloor heating.
Summer season: Whether you want a relaxing escape or an action packed adventure, Grindelwald has it all on offer. The Jungfrau region has around 500 kilometres of hiking trails of varying lengths and difficulty with fantastic opportunities to spot wildlife such as ibex and chamois or various alpine birds. Grindelwald is the departure point for the most spectacular mountain cog railways in Europe. The mountain restaurants are open throughout the year offering breathtaking views. Cycle routes vary from gentle along the valley floor to steep mountain passes or proper downhill tracks. Bicycles are easily rented in the village and are allowed on most mountain trains. The lakes have lidos and beaches all along the shores and there is a heated open air swimming pool in the village. For those who want more adrenalin, white water rafting, canoeing, mountaineering, para gliding, hang gliding, bungee jumping and skydiving are all available in the surrounding area.
Winter season: Winter in Grindelwald is ideal for skiers and non-skiers alike: There are 213km of pistes for skiers and snowboarders and 45 chair lifts, cable cars and trains to choose from in the Jungfrau region. Grindelwald is nestled in the valley between the ski resorts of First and Mannlichen and offers easy and fast access to both areas. You can follow the tracks of famous skiers on the Lauberhorn run, the world’s longest downhill race track, or, snow permitting, ski all 16km down from the top of the Schilthorn to the village of Lauterbrunnen. For non skiers there are more than 100km of winter hiking trails, 5okm of sledding trails and a couple of snowshoe trails. Hiking passes are available and allow non skiers to enjoy the mountain restaurants, the breathtaking views and the toboggan runs, as well as some of the most scenic walks in the alps. Other activities include ice skating, ice climbing, curling, heli skiing and the indulging in wellness.

Grindelwald is set in the alpine heartland of Switzerland known as the Bernese Oberland. Dominated by the world famous Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau mountains it boasts the country's highest density of dramatic scenery. The village is the stating point for hundreds of walking trails, mountain biking trails, paragliding, rafting and much more in the summer months and for its skiing and snowboarding during the winter months when it becomes a lively winter ski resort. Set beneath the towering peak of the Eiger you couldn't be in a more beautiful setting. Its nicknamed 'glacier village' for its proximity to two large seas of ice which are well worth a hike to during the summer months. The main street is packed with little restaurants, cafes and bars , all with terraces for you to take in the views. There is train station in town making it easily accessible from any part of Switzerland.
The apartment is a 5 minute walk from the trainstation. The bus line connecting the town, and Mannlichen and First cable cars goes past the apartment

There is a local tourism tax of Chf4.20 per adult per night/Chf3.20 per 12-16 year old per night.
This is not included in the rental rate, but is paid on arrival in cash.

This is your home away from home. Please enjoy it and treat it as you would your own. Local law stipulates quiet after 10PM.
We expect you to get rid of all rubbish, do the recycling and leave the place tidy, similarly to how you found it.

We've been in the Jungfrau Region since more than 10 years, and it truly was love at first sight. We now have a family with 2 young boys and we still think this is truly one of the best places in the world to be. Whether it's summer hiking, lakeside grilling, rafting, canyoning, paragliding or winter skiing, snowboarding, sledding or just sitting in a train and taking in the scenery, there is something here for everybody.
