About this listing

Family Summer holiday home.
Unconventional, unusual and stylish house.
Lots of space for everyone to enjoy.
Convenient location for the beach, the mountains and the historic towns.

The space

Villino de Santi was built in 1901 by Vincenzo de Santi, my great-grand father. He chose a northern European style which was fashionable at the time. It is quite different from any other building in the area and this makes it look a bit like a folly.

The Villino was intended as a family Summer house and it has been used as such ever since it was built. My children are the fifth generation in our family that spends their Summer holidays here.

The Villino de Santi is a well loved house. It is not high tech, it is not luxurious, but it exudes oodles of charm and character. After 110 years it is now ready to extend its warm welcome to new guests and friends who will thus help ensure that it will continue to be a great container of happy moments to share with loved ones.

5 Double/twin bedrooms, three bathrooms, sitting room, dining room and kitchen are available to guests. The house is surrounded by a large garden.

For additional information and to view layout and more photos, For additional information and to view layout and more photos, please visit rentabruzzo, our Villino's website.

The garden is shared with the owners who live on the second floor.

I really recommend this accommodation , we were well received by the host who showed us around the house. The house has an old -world charm with many fine details , it is not modern but everything we needed was in the house . The garden is very beautiful and we ate dinner in the pergola that was in the garden. The house is located in the countryside so do not be surprised if the rooster wakes you in the morning. It takes about 10 minutes to get to the nearest beach and 5min to a large grocery store, you have to have a car as it is too far to walk to grocery stores or to the beach . We were 10 people and it did not feel crowded during our week in the house.

A beautiful, big house with lots of history. Its cosy rooms are filled with vintage furniture. The mattresses are too old to be comfortable, but all the necessities (washer, stove, oven, fridge, dishwasher) are provided. The garden is quite magical with its vast lawn, olive trees and flower bushes, and the gardener/caretaker Sala is very kind and helpful. The owners, Joanna and her husband, are welcoming and tactful, so you won't feel like the house is shared.

Villino de Santi is a very charming house. It's idyllic and spacious. There were plenty of room for three families inside and outside. The house is in countryside and that's why we heared some rooster crowing and dog barking from neighborhood. A car is a must have. The nearest restaurant is about 300 meters distance away from the house. We really enjoyed our stay in Villino de Santi!

We felt very welcome in Villino de Santi. The house is unique and the large garden wonderful. We got useful information about restaurants, beaches etc. The lack of air condition was no problem, even though we stayed there during a heat wave. We were two families with five children and the house was perfect for our little group. Just as beautiful as on the pictures. Both Joanna and Sebastiano and the caretaker were very friendly and helpful.

What a wonderful holiday my husband and I have just spent at the Villino de Santi ! We enjoy the freedom of self catering holidays and always look for unique properties that can add a special quality to our holiday. We did not need a property as large as Villino de Santi for the two of us but it immediately appealed to us when we saw the details on Airbnb. It was everything we hoped for. It may not, as Joanna's description says, be " high tech or luxurious" but it is comfortable, clean and has an amazing sense of history. The kitchen, whilst not modern, had all the equipment I needed to prepare simple meals (a good deal of pasta was consumed!) and one of our fondest memories will be of meal times spent at the table in the beautiful garden. Our son and his girlfriend joined us for a long weekend in the middle of our stay and we spent happy hours chatting and lingering over a bottle of wine. Supermarket and local beaches are very close and the location is a perfect base for sightseeing, both for coastal and mountain areas. Joanna's pre-holiday communication with us was excellent. Her response to our booking enquiry was prompt and her replies to our queries were immediate and helpful. Joanna's husband, Sebastiano, was at the house to meet us on our arrival. Sebastiano was charming and the warmth of his welcome immediately made the frustrations of flight delays melt away. He showed us around the house, explained any practicalities and left us knowing that, should we have any queries, he was easily contactable. We were left feeling that he wanted us enjoy his family home and we knew instinctively that this was the start of a good holiday. Joanna and Sebastiano helped to make our holiday the success that it was and it was a privilege to stay in their much loved Villino de Santi. We have added our happy holiday memories to those that the house already holds.

We spent almost two weeks in July 2014 in Villino di Santi (two families with children, 8 people in total). House is indeed beatiful and charming as it is presented in pictures. There is plenty of space for everyone and it was exactly what we were looking for when searching for perfect holidays. If you want sunbathing and swimming in a commercial area - Alba Adriatica can be reached in notime. If you do not prefer crowdy and commercial beaches - go to Colonia Spiaggia (as we used to). Being on a beach is of course only part of the story - we were swimming only few hours per day. As the kitchen and dining room is fully equipped (even moka pots!) preparing meals and dining is easy. Also eating breafast outside (in the garden) was nice too. We especially loved sitting room on the 1st floor where we have played games or just read books - it is quite fascinating if you see 4 adults reading books sitting by each other (smile). We have performed few small escapades to Alba Adriatica, Tortoreto. In classic old town Tortoreto there is a very nice restaurant called Anchise (Pizzeria e Cuccina) - fully booked after 8pm. Perfecto! Villino di Santi was like we expected it to be. Quiet, comfortable, charming. Larger that it appear on pictures. Ideal place to rest.

Joanna E Sebastiano User ProfileJoanna E Sebastiano is a superhost.

Artist through and through and a big fan of the city I live in. Am a British national but have lived and travelled in many parts of the world. I still love to dapple with paint, do life drawing as a hobby. I am an Art Therapist (A.T.I) . Mother of three wonderful individuals has turned me into an enthusiastic cook and listening to music while in the kitchen relaxes me and gets me the best results.
The eternal city is a daily feast for my eyes and I'm enthusiastic to share it all and make it an experience that you'll want to repeat.
