Chichi Is a wonderful host, she welcomed me and made sure I was very comfortable. Makena's place is peaceful, the space artfully reflects Kenyan culture, and the tropical garden is a wonderful place to relax. I enjoyed talking with Chichi and Makena, and spending time with them. They were happy to engage yet gave me my own space too. I've made new friends and hope to return again. Makena's place is close enough to walk to the local shops and mall, and taxis are easy to arrange when you want to go further. Staying at Makena's Place gave me a great place to base myself and enjoy my time in Nairobi - THANKS Chichi and Makena!

Staying at Chichi's airbnb was absolutely fantastic! Chichi is an amazing host and very helpful for giving tips on getting around, restaurants, transportation etc. The room and airbnb space was spacious, clean, comfortable and honestly perfect. I had an amazing time and will definitely be back to stay at Chichi's place again.

Chichi is a caring, welcoming and reliable host. This is my second time staying with Chichi on trips to Nairobi and it felt like 'coming home' this time. I knew what to expect, communication is very clear and timely, driver was waiting for me at the airport to take me to Chichi's, very comfortable room and always made to feel welcome in the front room and kitchen, as well. Always a delicious breakfast prepared. I will return again, on my next trip back to Nairobi....and would highly recommend Chichi's "Makena's Place" to others coming to Nairobi.

Chichi's place is a paradise. If you visit Nairobi for leisure, stay with Chichi as Karen, the area the house sits in, is lush, safe and close to the major sites of Nairobi (elephant orphanage, giraffe center and Karen Blixen house). Chichi is a wonderful host. She's very responsive to messages and follows with you before arrival. Also her daughter is so cute and funny. I loved my stay at Makena's place.

Makena's place in Karen is a lovely place to stay in. It is neat and clean and Chichi is a wonderful hostess with really good staff. We were made to feel very comfortable and treated Chichi's place like our own. The garden is lovely and we had beautiful weather and were able to enjoy it to the full. Thank you to Chichi and her lovely daughter Makena and to Josephine. I would recommend Chichi's without reservation.

Chichi , Makena, Josephine and Allan were all very welcoming and gracious even though I showed up a bit early. From the beginning you were given full acess to the public areas of the home. Having wifi was awesome. Chichi also arranged a driver for me and negotiated a good price as well. Food storage was also a plus as I was allowed to cook my own suppers etc. The is a lovely fireplace which came in handy a few nights. Chichi and her daughter treated me like family and I felt safe and secure in their care.

Chichi is an amazing and caring host, who anticipates and coordinates all details from arrival to departure to make your trip smooth and very enjoyable. Her home is in a central area of Karen, close to shops, transportation and restaurants, although you also have the option to eat at home (breakfast included) and the options to pay for other meals to be prepared. Love the opportunity to meet and dialogue with local people who know the culture and context! Had some great discussions with Chichi in the evening and over breakfast. Would definitely return!

I am a performing artiste and a TV set designer. I am a mother of a 5 year old girl. I am a Christian and I love life.

My favourite travel destination Diani Beach (Kenyan coast)... I have lived in Sydney and I loved it, I love Paris too!

I am a gracious host and I enjoy meeting new people. I am however not overly chatty, so I will give you your space; as I enjoy mine. Unfortunately, if I am on a tv shoot I tend to work very long hours and so you will hardly see me. I do however have my house maid who lives with me and she will be the one to welcome you, make sure you are comfortable and make your breakfasts.

I like to read, I am not big on tv, we do not even have one in the house. I love music, long walks, gardens and nature and a good glass of wine :-)

I believe, life is what you make it. It is a choice.
