This was perhaps one of my best AirBnb experiences yet. This apartment was wonderfully central and impeccably clean. The whole apartment is a piece of art, and I felt more creative myself being around so many books, plants, and artwork from all around the world. Theodora was a gr…
Not as I expected...the description read that there would be two dogs and one cat in the apartment so I didn't think it would be too bad. Turns out there were four dogs and two (Website hidden by Airbnb) a single apartment. The animals have their way with the place, spreading and…
Response from Theodora:
Well this was the worst and most impolite guest I have ever had. Thank god the ten days are over! I made very clear that I had pets also in the direct contact with Tanner before arriving, and I explained to him also at arrival that for the moment I foster an extra rescue puppy (and that puppies make pieces of their toys and card boards when getting new teeth). I clean the apartment several times a day, and extra so with the puppy. Tanners negative attitude with the dogs stressed them a lot, so much that the older ones spent the day hiding in my bed room most of the time. And the puppy tried to please him in a submissiv way. As for the slippers, I always offer both slippers and a bathrobe to my guests, beacuse it's a nice gesture. And of course also because of the dogs, as I say in the description, with furry dogs there is always some dog hair around, no matter how much one cleans. Yes I like books - and so do many of my guest. And i put some nice magazines and turist informations in the roosm for my guests. What Tanner calls knick knack, me and others call art and crafts. Tanner was the most strange guest I ever had trough AirBnB. He was not communicating anything during his stay, not even saying hello to the other guests. Often not even answering direct questions from me. It made everybody feel very uncomfortable. He just took over the place with his negative attitude, first thing before I even had showed him the apartment and how it works here, he went to the fridge and moved around other peoples food, to make a shelf for him self (which, of course I would have offered him if he would asked me) Then he complained about the Internet in his room (which is quite fast) He said it was not good enough for his work - even if I had given him all the details about the internet (speed etc) before his booking. I was eating at that moment, and asked if he could wait 5 minutes until I had finished my meal, to help him. He said it had to be solved immediately, and I no other choice... I offered him the bigger more expensive room (which meant I lost some guests, that wanted a double bed). I told him he should give me half an hour to finish my meal and to fix the new room, but he just went down and took it, before I had made it ready. Then he never moved all of his stuff, so for three days he had both rooms. I had to ask him several times to move everything. In the beginning he took a new towel everyday, from my private ones, even the one I was using myself, until I told him not to - and that if he needed any more towels than the three I had provided him with (and an extra that he took himself) he could just ask me first. He also left the towels soaking wet on the floor after showering, letting me or my other guests picking them up. This happened everyday. In the end I asked him if he thought it was fair to let me or the other guests pick up his towel, and if he please could go and pick up his wet towel on the floor now. It took several hours before he did it... One day I came home two hours earlier than expected - luckily enough. Because both the stove and the oven where turned on, without any pots on, and they where glowing red. Some minutes more and there would have been a fire. He had been cooking before and just left the kitchen with everything on. I was quite chocked by this, and told him not to do this. It didn't happen again, but one should not have to tell these things. I was worried all the time, as he used the oven and stove a lot. He often left his dishes, and as he cooked real meals like 5 times a day, from morning to late at night, that meant a big pile of dishes in a day, and more the next day. I had to ask him several times to please do the dishes directly after having eaten, but he then usually just washed them in the night. He never once cleaned the stove or sink after cooking. This was left to me. He also made a mess in his room, during his stay. When other guests used the bathroom and he needed it, instead of waiting some minutes he just knocked on the door and told them to hurry, and did so until they came out. These are just some examples of his strange and unsocial behavior. When he left after ten days, he didn't even say good bye to me or the other guests he passed in doorway. I have never felt that 10 days would go so slow - and I have never ever felt so uncomfortable having a guest in my home. I can definitely NOT recommend him to any host.
I have travelled a lot in my days, and love receiving guests in my home from all over the world. I'm informed and curious about what's going on in the world. So there is always time for a cup of tea or coffee and an interesting chat at my kitchen table. I like culture in all for…
