Other things to note

My husband is an artist and I am a writer. Our home and patio and very private back yard is an oasis of peace away from busy Tampa, yet we are minutes away from the major thoroughfare of highway 275, yet far enough away that highway noise is never heard. We love people, the arts, and I love to cook, bake bread and share recipes. Our home is an eclectic combination of art, antiques, books, comfort and is a peaceful getaway close to beaches, restaurants, night life, music, the Yankee's Spring training Stadium, Legends Field, as well as other spring training facilities. The Lightning Hockey Team, museums, art galleries, Ybor City are all assets that Tampa has to offer. We are also about an hour from Orlando's Disney, Universal and about 30 minutes from the Hard Rock Casino. Whatever you're looking for, be it a peaceful getaway or a fun time of entertainment and shopping, it's all here!

My husband and I stayed at Jaynes's home during our trip to Tampa to see the U2 concert. She has a very quiet home occupied by her and her husband. It was very quiet, but close to 275..... which was great for getting to the U2 concert at Raymond James Stadium . Jayne has a very cozy and welcoming home , and she is the same as a host, along with Tim. We were in/ out a lot and back super late from the concert and never had a problem. She welcomes you to use the kitchen, and has a continental breakfast available along with coffee. My husband took advantage of the breakfast....I did not only because I am on a special diet that incorporates shakes..... I even brought my own blender and was a little nervous about using it in the kitchen as it is a bit noisy .But she assured me it was not a problem. She even had a little basket of bottled water so that you could grab as you come and go which was was great. The bedroom was very attractive and the bed very comfortable. As was the bathroom. They are artist and you can tell as they have their beautiful artwork and treasures decorated throughout the house. I never felt like we were imposing and whenever we ran into Jayne and Tim they were always super friendly. I would recommend staying here in a heartbeat.

This was my first time using Airbnb. Couldn't have had a better introduction. Jane and her husband were incredibly welcoming and flexible. Their house had lots of interesting art and was welcoming. Simply put, they were great hosts. They were there to talk and tell us about things to do in Tampa but also gave us space as we wanted it. They did all the little things well, and were kind people. I couldn't speak more highly of them as hosts. The location was also perfect - the zoo was about 5 minutes away, as well as many places to eat. Ybor city (which has a great downtown and lots of restaurants) was only about 10 minutes away. Downtown Tampa and the Oxford Exchange were about 15. Perfect little home in a quiet neighborhood. It was so restful and refreshing having everything so close. If I'm back in Tampa, I would stay here again!

Response from Tim:
We so enjoyed giving Kurt and Allyson enough space and information to enjoy a much needed relaxing home away from home. Very happy that we also had time to share conversation and histories! Perfect guests, who we hope to meet up with sometime in the future!

I am a writer first, an artist second. I have developed my art and writing through my years in NY, Vermont, California and Florida. Tim and I are both artists and writers. Our home is our little art colony so there are always on-going art, writing, art shows and projects we are involved in and enjoy sharing with friends and guests. We both love Tampa and enjoy the special secrets of all of our great restaurants, walks, beaches, hideaways and historical, art, entertainment and city events with others. The Hillsborough River is a block away from the Wren's Nest, great for viewing the manatees and alligators. The setting of our home is in a natural Florida landscaped garden. The patio, complete with hammock, was created completely of native plants in 1956, which have thrived and grown over the years, creating a completely private setting. Tim's art is displayed in several different restaurant galleries in downtown Tampa. My work, published in the Pages of My Life Anthology by Breath and Shadows Press is also a USF Center for the Aging textbook requirement. We are very "people oriented" hosts and would love to provide you with as much information to make your stay with us perfect. Tea or coffee served in the mornings, and for a small fee, my specialty crepes with homemade jam can also be provided. We look forward to making our home your private getaway!
