Hi! I'm a Tango dancing paralegal with a great sunny studio apartment on the the Upper West Side. The layout of my flat is Awesome & different from most other studio apartments in NYC because its huge!! I have a full size bed and a new queen size air mattress, plus a big round wooden table for eating or working on.
I have 50 mps wifi internet access through Time Warner, as well as a 38-inch flat panel TV with full Time Warner Digital cable with all the HBO channels, a VHS/DVD/CD player, and clock radio alarm.
My building & neighborhood is very safe. Walk out the front door and Inwood Park is just 2 blocks away (where you'll find the LAST FOREST IN MANHATTAN)! You can play tennis, hike, jog, BBQ, canoe/kayak and even learn more about Inwood & Inwood Park as the park is practically it's own ecological preserve! You can go hiking and be back in the comforts of home in minutes. As for subway, you are less than half a block away from the A train (which runs express after 10:30pm), and a few short blocks from the 1 train (local).
Inwood has delicious Spanish & Dominican food, as well as Thai, Chinese, and some other fine cuisines. There's also a Great wine bar across the street (Inwood Local), that's next to the Darling Cafe, where you can wake yourself up with some hot java and hang out to use the internet and work if you want. There's a big grocery store (C-Town) that's open late, as well as PJ's Wine & Liquor, which New Yorkers come to from other boroughs because of the Great prices and diverse selection of spirits from all over the world!
There's also many small clothing shops, electronics stores, and other locally owned businesses, as well as some very cool old Irish bars (check out the Pipers Kilt for some of the best burgers in NYC).
You can even get Medieval for a day and visit Fort Tryon Park and the Cloisters, which are only two quick subways stops away!
PERKS AND AMENITIES:
Apt is always immaculately clean!
Roach & Critter Free (no bed bugs here!)
Non-Smoker Owned (& NO SMOKING ALLOWED!)
Air Conditioner + Fan
Full sized shower/tub

*Check-in & Check-out times are flexible, but let me know your travel times in advance so I can plan accordingly.
*Also please note that I have a CAT (Emelia) and TURTLE (Pedro). They are super low maintenance. If your stay is on the longer side, I'll ask you to put food & water in Emelia's bowl if she runs low and leave some turtle feed for Pedro -- very easy.
My home will feel like your home and I'm certain you'll have a wonderful & comfortable stay : )
I also co-run THRIFTAHOLICS com with my boyfriend Mike . If you like thrifting, or want to do things in NYC cheaply, or even for FREE when you get here, you should definitely check out our site, or ask us what you're looking for/to do so we can give you some insider tips. We might even be able to get you cheap tickets to Broadway shows!!
Thanks for checking out my listing. Hope to hear from you soon!!
This location is convenient and was the perfect landing pad for my visit to NYC to attend a baby shower in the same neighborhood. I wholeheartedly recommend Natalia's to anyone who is looking for a comfy, cozy and relaxed place to land in Inwood. Natalia is a lovely host and gave me all the information I needed to get around and check in without stress. She also provided towels and linens (of course). The building is also really nice with some lovely art deco features.
My wife and I had a great stay in Inwood! We used it as a quiet retreat for our Manhattan @ boroughs explorations, and were very happy with the apartment. It was clean and quiet, and the neighbourhood felt welcoming and safe. The apartment is large, and the bed is very comfortable. Everything was in working order, and the cat was very happy to be cuddled with in the evenings. We emptied her cat litter before leaving in the mornings, and were otherwise not much bothered by her presence.
We ate our breakfasts at the absolutely great cafe just across the street called Darling Coffee, and then took the A-train into town. It's a half hour ride on the express, so you have time to read your guidebook or observe the local New Yorkers on the train. We would absolutely recommend this apartment if you don't have to live on Time Square, the subway service is frequent and can be found almost anywhere you go. The upside is that you get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city when you want to sleep and relax.
Unfortunately we never got to explore the forest, but that's for next time I guess :)
My stay at Natalia's apartment was awesome!
Michael was there to great me when I arrived and gave me a tour of the apartment, which is very clean, spacious and cozy, few steps from the subway!
Thanks Natalia and Michael for this great stay.
Staying at Natalia's place was really awesome! Natalia was very friendly and caring and gave us lots of tips of what we could do in NY and made sure that we would find our way from the JFK airport to her place. I loved her apartment! Her cat and turtle were so cute and it was fun to have them there during our stay! I think it was nice to stay a bit outside the most central parts of NY and get to know the northern parts of Manhattan! :)
Natalia's place is great. Very clean and everything you need is right there. Subway is one block away (A train) and it's two blocks from my new grandson! The parks around are beautiful. Great coffee shop across the street and terrrific restaurants. We will stay there every time we come to NYC is it's available.
I loved Natalia's apartment and the Inwood neighborhood. The building is sparkling clean and super quiet. The apt. is directly across the street from one subway line and a few blocks from another. The neighborhood is lively. There are beautiful parks and a wonderful Dominican street scene. I loved coming home at night to the sounds of salsa, fruit vendors, fresh juice and delicious food. I even got my hand henna.designed in a small storefront operated by a woman from India. The hood is super safe.
Natalia is a great host. A couple of things you may want to know is that the apt is not a one bedroom but has one big room plus kitchen and bathroom. There is no place to unpack. The cat is great company but you will be expected to empty litter box as well as feed and cuddle.
I was traveling solo and light and had no complaints. Would definitely return and recommend to others, especially for the price.
My stay at Natalia's apartment was great. It's a relatively spacious, convenient apartment right at the end of the A train line. The commute to midtown/downtown takes some time, but it's reasonable. It's decorated with all sorts of cute and quirky curiosities, many turtle-themed. Natalia herself is very friendly, helpful and easy to communicate with.
I thought caring for the cat might be a hassle; actually, having a friendly feline companion was a positive experience (even though she ran out onto the fire escape one time - Natalia returned very quickly and brought Emelia back in.)
Overall, this is a great apartment to stay in and I'd happily come back.
It was an absolute pleasure staying at Natalia's place. This being my first time renting at airbnb, I was a bit apprehensive to start with. Natalia ensured that all my doubts were cleared, was very responsive and went out of the way to ensure that I had a comfortable stay in her apartment.
The apartment was of perfect size and was clean and tidy, absolutely no complaints at all. Even the location is pretty good in the sense that there is a grocery store just around the corner, a thai restaurant in front, a Baskin robins outlet next block and cab service nearby. Moreover, Manhattan was just one train ride away.
Lastly, the cat, Emelia is very quite and docile. I was worried that my family might be a bit perturbed due to its presence, but it turned out in fact to be contrary and my son liked playing with it.
Overall, I had a very comfortable stay and will not hesitate to rent out again from Natalia.
I stayed at Natalia's place for 4 days in May. I truly can say that I had an amazing time in New York. Natalia also contributed a great part to my stay. She is very communicative and responsive. Whenever you have a question, she is very quick to respond and very concerned about your well-being. I would definitely recommend her place if you set a high value on a clean, big and tidy room in a cool area. Admittedly it takes a while to get to downtown NYC, but it is worth the ride. In case you are concerned about feeding the cat, please don't worry about it. You feed the cat in the AM and in the PM. The cat food is of course provided by Natalia. The turtle doesn't need to be fed, since it has all been taken care of by Natalia before your arrival. All in all, Natalia (and her boyfriend Mike) are great hosts and I am very happy to know them for my next trip to NYC. You all take care!
