**Note that I have a friendly tuxedo cat (Emelia) & red-eared slider water turtle (Pedro). They are super low maintenance.

I also co-run THRIFTAHOLICS & NYCGRINDHOUSE com with my boyfriend Mike. If you like thrifting, or want to do things in NYC cheaply, or even possibly for FREE, you should Definitely check out our site, or ask us what you're looking to do so we can give you some insider tips. We might even be able to get you Cheap Tickets to Broadway and Off-Broadway shows!!

Thanks for checking out my place. Hope to hear from you soon!!!

**My base price is based on a double-occupancy**

Guest Access

Make yourself at home! You'll have access to my entire apartment. There isn't much closet space though, hey, this is NYC : )

My home will feel like your home. I'm certain you'll have a Wonderful & Comfortable stay -- mi casa es su casa [bayti baytik]!

Interaction with Guests

Check-in & check-out times are flexible, but let me know your travel times in advance so I can plan accordingly.

Feel free to email, text, or call if you need anything or have questions or just want to meet up for a drink sometime!

The Neighborhood

My building & neighborhood is very safe. Walk out the front door and Inwood Park is just two blocks away (where you'll find the LAST FOREST IN MANHATTAN)! You can play tennis, hike, jog, BBQ, canoe/kayak and even learn more about Inwood & Inwood Park as the park is practically it's own ecological preserve!

Inwood has delicious Spanish & Dominican food, as well as Thai, Chinese, and some other fine cuisines. There's also a Great wine bar across the street (Inwood Local) that's next to the Darling Cafe, where you can wake yourself up with some hot java and hang out to use the internet and work if you want. There's a big grocery store (C-Town) that's open late, as well as PJ's Wine & Liquor, which New Yorkers come to from other boroughs because of the Great Prices and diverse selection of spirits from all over the world!

There's also many small clothing shops, electronics stores, and other locally owned businesses, as well as some very cool old Irish bars (check out the Pipers Kilt for some of the best burgers in NYC).

You can even get Medieval for a day and visit Fort Tryon Park and the Cloisters, which are only two quick subways stops away!

Getting Around

SUBWAY: You're less than a block away from the A train (which runs express until roughly 10:30pm), and a few short blocks from the #1 local train and various buses, which all run 24/7.

House Rules

* Please use caution when closing curtains on the living room window so as not to pull them off the rod.
* Trash closet is located on the other side of the stairs in the hallway.

CAT & TURTLE (Pedro & Emelia!)

Please make sure Emelia has dry food and fresh water daily.

Please 'scoop the poop' from the kitty litter daily into one of the empty garbage bags that are on the shelf beneath the toaster oven in the kitchen. You can just tie the bag up and throw it in the trash.

Emilia enjoys drinking from bathroom sink faucet. Feel free to turn on a stream of cold water and watch her drink!

Pedro has been fed before your arrival. You don't need to feed him, although he's a big beggar : )

The special UV lights on the aquarium are timed to go in the morning and go off in the evening when it gets (website hidden) & DVD/VCR -
To use the TV press the 'system' button on the upper left side on the black remote marked 'Time Warner', also use this remote to switch channels and control volume. To watch a DVD, turn on the DVD/Video Player, press button on the DVD player to switch to DVD or video mode and use the Silver Remote that says VIZEO and press Input on the top of remote button to switch INPUT to 'AV1'. The DVD picture should appear. Use the black 'Time Warner' remote to control DVD player by pressing the small button on top that says 'DVD' and you can use the 'play', 'rewind' etc. controls.

To get back to TV mode take the remote for the TV (the one that says VIZEO) and switch Input back to Digital HD.

Instructions & Password will be in apartment.

1) Please Close All Windows in the living room before turning on the Air Conditioner.
2) Please close the curtain that separates the living room from the hallway (this will help in keeping your room cool)

**Please do not use appliances such as hair dryer and air conditioner at the same time as this could blow a fuse.

Once you've turned the AC on:
SET MODE – High or Low, ( I usually choose High if its a really hot day)
SET TEMPERATURE- Press the TEMP button on the small white remote control and use the “+” and “-” buttons to select YOUR TEMPERATURE. I usually put it on 68.
SET TIMER on the air conditioner so as not waste electricity. Using the small white remote control, press “timer” and then the “+” button to select the amount of time you want the air to stay on. I usually put (0.5) which is 30 minutes, or 1 or 2 hours on the timer when I go to sleep.

Finally, although I understand that sometimes you might meet that special someone, you can't bring him/her home with you. My place is ONLY for the Airbnb guests who have booked my apartment -- NO EXCEPTIONS! I'll also make a photocopy of your passports or driver's licenses, as it gives me an added level of security and peace of mind. This is a MANDATORY REQUIREMENT of all my guests.
