Check In
  • My husband and I used to live and work in La Paz for more than six years in the seventies of the past century and came back to Bolivia for a visit after so many years. As we wanted to do quite some travelling in the country we decided to rent an apartment instead of going to a hotel where we would have had to check in and out all the time. Bernardo's penthouse apartment suited us very well, it is very spacious, secure and right in the middle of Sopocachi, with a supermarket and quite a lot of good restaurants in walking distance. Bernardo and his parents welcomed us in a very friendly way and even helped us to reestablish contact with friends who still live in La Paz. We can highly recommend this apartment, the hosts are very educated and warm-hearted people, ready to help in all kind of situations.

  • We had a warm welcome from jaime (bernardos dad)after late night flight from (website hidden) tea biscuits fruit ,nice! Woke up to the most awesome views of city n snow capped mountains.location for central by walking good.
Apartment is HUGE .Hot water and all amenities. To come down to earth this is a 1960s (website hidden) it dated. It has like 4 toilets but with non use of apartment 2 of them have that musty smell. After opening doors onto terrace all sweet within a few hours.
For us the extra effort bernardo went to with our little problem of wifi and his dsds waiting up for us,good advice (the vienna restruant was romantic with piano player and not over the top price wise.austrian flavour n food choices)
We would return yes absolutely. Valur for money ?yes definitely.

  • Enjoyed the stay a lot at Bernardo's place, which is a huge penthouse in a central location. Our early arrival time got lost in communication (not always easy in Bolivia), but Bernardo's parents arrived immediately, they were extremely nice and welcoming and even made breakfast for us. Would stay there again, especially if you want loads of space!

  • The PH-A was really nice. We are all 5 peoples but the apartment was large enough. The bathrooms and badrooms were also clean and the kitchen was well equipped. There is a supermarket(HIPERMAXI) near there. So it was really easy to buy something we needed. When we check-in, his parents very welcomed us and gave many informations for us. So we could really enjoy there, thanks! :D

  • At first glance this place just seemed too good to be true. A 160 m2 penthouse apartment at a very decent price in the middle of La Paz? But it´s for reals.
I really enjoyed staying here, the apartment has a very comfortable, including and nice atmosphere, and the view out of the windows, or from the balconys, is just breathtaking. I woke up with a smile every day the ten days I spent there. Really great.
I guess the apartment is not super-modern, there is a little bit of wear here and there, and there are some ants running around too, but for me this place was just brilliant. Highly recomendable!

  • Excellent penthouse apartment and excellent hosts. Couldn't have asked for a better place to spend a few nights in La Paz. Great beds, great showers and amazing views. Great places to eat nearby, including a market only a few blocks away. Check in was great and they even arranged a taxi for me to the airport, which was so helpful as my spanish is not that great.

  • This was by far the best stay my wife and I had in all of our traveling in South America. Bernardo's family couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating. We came in La Paz and found out our other accommodations had been canceled unexpectedly. This family came together to make an apartment for us at a separate location until the penthouse was available for us. The penthouse is incredible with views of the city and plenty of room. His family even surprised us and brought us firewood for the ogre one night. Seriously, the nicest people you will ever meet. It would be a mistake not to stay here.

Originally from Bolivia I have lived in Costa Rica, the US, Germany and Spain. I love to travel, to dance salsa and to watch good movies. I have traveled in style and with no style too, for me the trip is as important as the destination.
