Spacious 83 m2 Loft in San Telmo - rented by the owner - English/Portuguese Spoken - Live nearby, so you can count on me in case you need it.
This is a very particular apartment, it has the "aura" of San Telmo. Located in a 100 year building recycled as individual lofts, is exceptionally sunny all day and silent, you don't hear noises from the street. We tried to priorize the calm that comes from a space with not so many mobilia, white walls and a good vibra.
It has an exceptionall location in the historic neighbourhood of San Telmo: 2 blocks from the Dorrego Square and 2 blocks from Puerto Madero, 10 blocks from the Plaza de Mayo and the Casa Rosada.
The loft has a huge living dining room, a kitchen and a full bathroom with an antique bathtub, (it also has a shower) and one bedroom in a splited off level with a queen size high density sommier bed and a desk room with a single bed. There is also a double futton in the living room that can host 2 more people and it is fully equipped with:
- LCD TV set
- Cable TV ,
- air conditioned (bedroom),
- fixed telephone to make local calls,
- refrigerator with freezer,
- microwave oven,
- dishes, kitchenware, linens and towels
- a vintage antique bathtub for relaxing hot baths,
- professional amplifier to chill out,
- a cellphone for you to be reached by your argentinian friends.
As one of our guests said: "you feel in the loft as in a friend's house", you have everything to cook, an excellent amplifier with audio boxes to connect your mp3 or netbook and hear to your music as if you were at home.
Notice the picks left by our guests that show they really feel comfortable and turn the loft into a creative space.

We spent 10 wonderful days in Alejandra s loft !
if i could have extended our stay there i would have done it !
it fits exactly our taste , it has a soul , the space is very interesting
it is very quiet and poetic
i enjoyed staying at home after tango classes !
Ajejandra always responded perfectly to all kind of questions or requests!
the loft is generous and very well organized with many guide books and a beautiful anthology of poetry in Argentine!
if next year we are back to Argentine i would love to book it for a month!
Thank you for very thing Alejandra!
It was really great staying at this loft. We stayed total 7nights but could have easily extended the stay because we liked it so much. Also it was great having a home for a few days. Alejandra was really helpful and answered every question quickly. Also the location is fabulous.
Fashionable loft in excellent location, well served by buses.
.Quiet, secure and very private.
The loft was very well equipped, clean and comfortable, Alejandra was extremely helpful.
Easy access to San Telmo food market to buy fresh provisions. We would stay again.
L appartement d Alexandra est très bien situé, calme et joliment décoré, de plus Alexandra est une personne charmante! Je recommande vivement cette location! Antoine et Dominique Faure séjour à Buenos Aires du 4 au 10 janvier 2014
The loft in San Telmo is exactly as the pictures show - a quirky apartment in an amazing old building. Alejandra is an exceptional host - great communication before and during the stay. She also went out offer way to wait for us on arrival. We were there over New Year - with BA in the midst of an unusual heat wave. The air con in the bedroom was a life saver (if only the mosquitoes would have stayed away). As a base in this older part of town, the loft is ideal.
Alejandra's place was awesome. It is a quiet and peaceful sanctuary in the middle of bustling Buenos Aires.
She was very accommodating and even provided a mobile in case I needed to reach her while I was in town.
I will definitely look for her place the next time I am in town!
We stayed one month in San Telmo and really enjoyed to loft and the conversation with you as our host a lot! Thanks, Alejandra, for being so nice and available for us! Hope to see you around (Berlin or Buenos Aires next year). Of course I would choose the loft again if I came back! Absolutely great place and atmosphere!
Excellent location near Plaza Dorego, public transport, parks, cafes, restaurants.
The apartment is tidy and clean with a good style that is true to Buenos Aires.
Alejandra was wonderful on arrival. MY flight was very late yet she waited for me to arrive. THANKYOU.
I will definitely stay here again.
The flat was as nice as it is on the picture and it was a pleasure living in it. The only true downside is the water heater that sometimes turns off when you take a shower and the water becomes very cold, but that's a vintage flat !
It's well located, really easy to access by cab, bus or subway. Alejandra was a great host and very helpful. Unfortunately for us, the wifi didn't work in the building during our stay but being in holiday, we made do happily, and had a lovely stay.
I spent ten days in Buenos Aires this fall, and it was magical - in no small part because of Alejandra and her beautiful, magically-cool, perfectly-located loft. It is very San Telmo-esque, right in San Telmo neighborhood, but inside a wonderful old building, so there's almost never any noise from the neighborhood at all. The loft, just like the neighborhood, is *made* of bohemian character. But the important practical things are all wonderful, too - I was amazed how warm I was in such a big space, in an old building. (Especially up in the bedroom!) There was always tons of hot water, and it was very convenient to have both a landline and a cell phone to use for local calls. The loft is just a few doors down from a Carrefour Express, for coffee, bread, snacks, wine, or dinner if you want to cook - the kitchen is very well-equipped. (I also needed toothpaste and soap...) And right around the corner, just two blocks away, is Plaza Dorrego, the center of San Telmo neighborhood, with Defensa, its restaurants and shops and parillas and cafes, and of course the Sunday street market. (A very beloved "real" parrilla, El Desnivel, is very close-by, and I bought a beautiful hand-painted dress to wear to the National Ballet of Uruguay at the Teatro Colon from a little boutique in the neighborhood).
The location really is wonderful - first, you have to understand that San Telmo is one of the oldest neighborhoods in BsAs, so the cobbled streets and colonial buildings have a lot of character. It also feels more like a neighborhood to me than the skyrise apartments of Recoleta, for example. But it's safe - completely safe - day and night. (I mean, it's still a big city, so take the care you would in any big city, but I was a woman traveling solo, and I felt fine in the neighborhood at all hours - there are people around until at least 3am, which is when I came home from tango one night.)
The neighborhood and the loft are also very central, so walkable to Caminito/La Boca, Puerto Madera, Plaza de Mayo, Congreso, etc. Recoleta is a little bit of a longer walk, but I had beautiful weather, so it didn't matter to me. But if you don't want to walk, taxies are frequent and inexpensive, and the Subte and bus lines are right on Alejandra's street. Very, very easy to get around. Also, Alejandra kindly left a set of recommendations and instructions, and she was very easy to contact and communicate with if ever I needed anything during my stay. She's a kind, generous, funny, super-interesting person and a wonderful hostess. When I come back (and I will!) I refuse to stay anywhere else!
