Whitt and Martha are great hosts! They guide us to the airstream and welcomed us with homemade Cinnamon rolls which taste amazing! The stay at the airstream was comfy, relaxing and quiet. We shouted out like kids when we saw the starry night on our way back the second day. We will definitely want to come back soon!
Man alive. This was one of my favorite places I have stayed in over 3 years. The most wonderful spot, amazingly friendly and accommodating hosts, resulting in a much needed dip back into a peaceful, wonderous mini adventure in the Virgina sticks. This is some extremely calming and inviting land. You have thrown some fuel back on my fire to get the tiny home built and to venture deeper into the wooded lands! Thank you both so much for the stories and hospitality. I look forward to a warm weather excursion now that I know where you be! Mahalo :)
Blown away by this place. The farm was incredible. We stayed in the Airstream (always a dream of ours) and it was really great. Totally planning on making another trip down here again soon. We enjoyed a starlit hot tub session after a long day of hiking, and in the morning Whitt met up with us and gave us a tour around the property, introducing us to the animals and explaining all the amazing work he and his family have been doing to work with the land. Walking through their pasture flanked on either side by two Great Pyrenees is without a doubt the safest, most gently protected, I've ever felt. We loved our stay and will definitely be back.
The airstream was wonderful, as was the farm! Whitt and Martha are truly wonderful people. It was (literally) a bumpy road to the farm, but worth the trip to the relaxing airstream and porch/deck. The views from both the main house and the airstream were lovely. The sunrises were breathtaking. The airstream itself is very well-kept. They stocked the airstream with most of what anyone could need for a nice stay. I would love to stay again!
Our weekend getaway at Cair Paravel Farm was exactly what we wanted -- seclusion, nature, and comfort. We unfortunately weren't able to stay at the Airstream due to water issues, and at first were super-bummed, but forgot all about our disappointment when we were put up in the spacious-yet-cozy Tumnis House! We especially loved the screened-in porch for early morning coffee (deliciously provided by the hosts) to watch the sunrise over the mountains. All in all, we couldn't have asked for a better retreat from city life.
We had a wonderful time staying at Cair Paravel and can not wait to come back! The Tumnis house was so beautiful and cozy that we didn't want to leave. Whitt was very hospitable and always just a phone call away if we needed anything. We were very pleased with the quality of the food we purchased from the farm - best chicken I've ever tasted! Not to mention the fresh baked cookies we received on arrival! Thank you Whitt and Martha for an amazing trip!
We visited in late winter and the Airstream was having issues with water. He messaged us a few days in advance and put us in the Tumnus House, which is a few hundred yards from the Airstream, at no extra charge. The entire farm is beautiful and Whitt and Martha are exceptional hosts. He also let us use the beautiful deck by the Airstream as much as we wanted.
I would undoubtedly recommend visiting Cair Paravel and I hope to be back soon.

I am a retired executive Chef who has worked in all types of hospitality environments for 35 years. Managing a small country Inn and restaurant for 12 of those years has given me ample experience to create and manage our unique Yurt B&B as well as our other lodgings. My family and I are in process of creating a self supporting and sustainable farm homestead and lodgings and we offer welcome to one and all. In addition to our enterprises we are grateful stewards of 60 acres of spectacular mountain land, most of which is as undisturbed as possible with an easily accessible nature trail winding throughout the property. As a working farm we also have a multitude of gentle critters and an abundance of home grown foods.
Having grown up in Hawaii I know well about relaxing and enjoying life and all it has to offer, and believe we have created a place where everyone can share in the same.
