I live in this apartment, and host travelers like yourself in the other 3 rooms. This is the perfect spot for students, backpackers, and others on a budget, who still want to stay in one of the best neighborhoods in all of NYC, and have the entire city easily accessible by foot or subway. My goal is to offer this room at the lowest rate possible (less than half the price of local hotels and far cheaper than most Airbnb places in the neighborhood), so if you're looking for something super fancy, I encourage you to book elsewhere! I've made some minor changes to the apartment and furniture since these pictures were taken, so expect some slight differences.
This apartment is in a PRIME Williamsburg location right off of Bedford Avenue, which is the bustling main street that runs through the neighborhood.
Staying here is similar to a hostel environment (except that you get your own room!), where you'll have the opportunity to meet and interact with other travelers. The apartment is on the first floor of the building, and includes access to an open outdoor space. The room is small with no window, but spacious enough to comfortably accommodate 1 or 2 people. The bathroom is shared. The area is very safe, and the apartment has never had a problem with rodents, roaches, or bedbugs.
Williamsburg is the artistic and cultural heart of Brooklyn, with some of the best music and nightlife in NYC. Many would agree with me that this is the best neighborhood in the entire city. There are TONS of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, boutique stores, music venues, and everything else you can possibly imagine close by. When you check in, there'll be a list of some of my favorite spots in the neighborhood waiting for you in your room.
The nearest subway stops are the Marcy J/M/Z (5 min walk) and the Bedford L (10 min walk), from which the entire city will be easily accessible. For subway & bus directions anywhere in the city, I recommend the website & app HopStop.
I always provide a clean room, with fresh sheets and towels for every guest.
You may check-in at your convenience, anytime after 4pm on the day of your arrival (even late at night). I cannot accommodate early check-ins, because other guests will be checking out the same day, however, you may drop your luggage off early if you need to.
Feel free to get in touch if you have any additional question or if there's anything I can help you with.
Interaction with Guests
Other Things to Note
Please be aware that this is a residential building (not a hotel), and you'll be sharing the apartment with other Airbnb guests. Please be respectful of neighbors and other guests by keeping noise at a reasonable volume and cleaning up after yourself. I don't host children under 18 or pets (sorry!). Please don't book if you are at risk of transporting bedbugs (I've never had bedbugs here, and I'd like to keep it that way!). Other than that, enjoy your stay!!!
The room/apartment was as described, the location was good and conveniently close to some great cafe's/restaurants and bar's.
The bed in room 3, as previously described, was uncomfortable and very noisy when you moved around.
Dom was responsive to questions and the check in process was easy (once I read the email properly, my bad)
Dom gave very detailed notes in his listing, and promptly responded to all my questions. The room was as described, clean and pleasant enough for the price.
Dom's Appartment was just a described. The Location was great, easy to get to from Manhattan and a lot of nice places to go locally. The room was small but perfectly fine for one person, no frills but very functional and the kitchen and bathroom was tidy. I did not spend to much time here just sleeping and getting ready, so did not relly meet anyone staying in the other rooms. Would stay again
This is the second time that I stay at Dom's place, and I'm really happy that I chose to stay at his apartment again. Not only is the location unbeatable, but also the apartment is the best you can get, if you're traveling on a low budget.
The unit (common spaces, room, bath ) have a decent size and they had just been cleaned. All the logistics for picking up / dropping the keys worked exactly as Dom explained. The bars / restaurants / coffee shops within walking distance helped complete the experience.
I strongly recommend this place for future travelers looking to discover a wonderful neighborhood, yet being close enough to Manhattan. And when you do, don't forget to cross the Williamsburg Bridge by foot to get to the Lower East Side. It's a truly fun experience and the views are unique.
Dom was very prompt with instructions for checkin-in and out. The apartment was very easy to find, and is based in a prime location in Brooklyn.
However, I think I would have preferred to spend a bit more money and stay at a hotel (I paid $104 for one night), especially because I was only staying one night before my move to Tanzania. Dom's apartment felt like a hostel, but a much more expensive version. I had a lot of luggage but the room (D3) was too small for all my belongings. The mattress not good at all (I could feel the springs on my back), and the fan was pretty dusty. The bathroom was not very clean either.
Amazing neighbourhood, which was the reason for my visit. Great food, bars, access to public transport etc. the apartment is fine. Not fancy and shared bathroom like a hostel. I didn't use the kitchen but it seemed fine! The bed on room three is not okay. It was just me sleeping in the room and I felt like I was going to wake up the other guests every time I moved. It is very uncomfortable as well so I think it needs to be replaced ASAP with a simple foam mattress that will not age as quickly. I did not interact with Dom while I was there but it was very easy to collect the keys from where directed.
Stayed here for a night - the room is as described and is reasonable for the price. Dom was very responsive with any questions! Good for a quick stay.
