I live in this apartment, and host travelers like yourself in the other 3 rooms. This is the perfect spot for students, backpackers, and others on a budget, who still want to stay in one of the best neighborhoods in all of NYC, and have the entire city easily accessible by foot or subway. I've made some minor changes to the apartment and furniture since these pictures were taken, so expect some slight differences.
This apartment is in a PRIME Williamsburg location right off of Bedford Avenue, which is the bustling main street that runs through the neighborhood.
Staying here is similar to a hostel environment (except that you get your own room!) where you'll have the opportunity to meet and interact with other travelers like yourself. The apartment is on the first floor of the building, and includes access to an open outdoor space. The room is small with no window, but spacious enough to comfortably accommodate 1 or 2 people. The bathroom is shared. The area is very safe, and the apartment has never had a problem with rodents, roaches, or bedbugs.
Williamsburg is the artistic and cultural heart of Brooklyn, with some of the best music and nightlife in NYC. Many would agree with me that this is the best neighborhood in the entire city. There are TONS of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, boutique stores, music venues, and everything else you can possibly imagine close by. When you check in, there'll be a list of some of my favorite spots in the neighborhood waiting for you in your room.
The nearest subway stops are the Marcy J/M/Z (5 min walk) and the Bedford L (10 min walk), both of which are only one stop to Manhattan. On a nice day, you can also walk or ride a bike over the Williamsburg bridge into downtown Manhattan. For subway & bus directions anywhere in the city (including the airport), I recommend the website & app HopStop.
I always provide a clean room, with fresh sheets and towels for every guest. Feel free to get in touch if you have any additional question or if there's anything I can help you with.
Interaction with Guests
Other Things to Note
Please be aware that this is a residential building (not a hotel), and you'll be sharing the apartment with other Airbnb guests. Please be respectful of neighbors and other guests by keeping noise at a reasonable volume and cleaning up after yourself. I don't host children under 18 or pets (sorry!). Please don't book if you are at risk of transporting bedbugs (I've never had bedbugs here, and I'd like to keep it that way!). Other than that, enjoy your stay!!!
It was a nice enough place. The rooms are separated by drywall so it's not exactly becoming. Also, the keys got mixed up at the market, so we just took the first ones available, but it wasn't a hassle. The bed is old and cheap and not very comfortable. But the place was decent for the price. I'd say if you're trying to save money and be right in the scene in Williamsburg this is a good choice.
A really nice place! The room is well detailed in the description and the neighborhood is awesome. Good communication by the subway to Manhattan.
Although we never saw Dom in person, he responded really fast through Airbnb messages and he was always predisposed to help for any trouble.
I recommend this place!!
Dom's place is excellent in terms of location and price. It is very close to the subway station (5 mins to Marcy Ave), and the neighborhood feels safe and quiet. The way Dom set up the key retrieval is very convenient and saved both of us lots of trouble. I was stuck in the subway the night I arrived and didn't arrive until late 1am. Luckily I can get the key easily in the grocery store 24 hours a day.
The room itself is pretty small, but if you are like me, spending most of your time out and only come back for a sleep, that will not be a problem at all. The living room is spacious and the bathroom is clean and tidy.
However, the cleanness of the bedding set could be improved. I can smell the a slight damp moldy smell, probably due to not much air circulation in the room. The sheets and comforter make me itch so I have to put on long sleeve clothes and pants. I am satisfied with everything else other than that.
Overall, it is a very enjoyable experience during my stay. I would recommend people looking for an affordable option consider staying in Dom's place.
The room was as described, which was great for my needs of a small, cheap place in a good location.
I particularly enjoyed being in such a great location - Williamsburg has become my favourite place in NY.
Location is ideal, and the apartment itself was actually pretty ideal. Small, yes, and with the bare minimum necessities, but totally adequate for a weekend in the city. Checking in, checking out, and the general coming and going was very seamless. Would stay here again.
The apartment was located in a very beautiful area, close to the subway and Manhattan.
Other than that, the apartment looks nothing like the pictures. The room was dirty with trash under the bed and the sheets weren't clean (they had hairs on them). The bathroom and the kitchen could also need some serious cleaning. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything, so we had trouble sleeping as people smashed the door at 6 in the morning.
