I live in this apartment, and host travelers like yourself in the other 3 rooms. This is the perfect spot for students, backpackers, and others on a budget, who still want to stay in one of the best neighborhoods in all of NYC, and have the entire city easily accessible by foot or subway.
This apartment is in a PRIME Williamsburg location right off of Bedford Avenue, which is the bustling main street that runs through the neighborhood.
Staying here is similar to a hostel environment (except that you get your own room!) where you'll have the opportunity to meet and interact with other travelers like yourself. The apartment is on the first floor of the building, and includes access to an open outdoor space. The room is small, but spacious enough to comfortably accommodate 1 or 2 people. The bathroom is shared. The area is very safe, and the apartment has never had a problem with rodents, roaches, or bedbugs.
Williamsburg is the artistic and cultural heart of Brooklyn, with some of the best music and nightlife in NYC. Many would agree with me that this is the best neighborhood in the entire city. There are TONS of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, boutique stores, music venues, and everything else you can possibly imagine close by. When you check in, there'll be a list of some of my favorite spots in the neighborhood waiting for you in your room.
The nearest subway stops are the Marcy J/M/Z (5 min walk) and the Bedford L (10 min walk), both of which are only one stop to Manhattan. On a nice day, you can also walk or ride a bike over the Williamsburg bridge into downtown Manhattan. For subway & bus directions anywhere in the city (including the airport), I recommend the website & app HopStop.
I always provide a clean room, with fresh sheets and towels for every guest. Feel free to get in touch if you have any additional question or if there's anything I can help you with.
Interaction with Guests
Other Things to Note
Please be aware that this is a residential building (not a hotel), and you'll be sharing the apartment with other Airbnb guests. Please be respectful of neighbors and other guests by keeping noise at a reasonable volume and cleaning up after yourself. I don't host children under 18 or pets (sorry!). Please don't book if you are at risk of transporting bedbugs (I've never had bedbugs here, and I'd like to keep it that way!). Other than that, enjoy your stay!!!
Great location. It's a very small place and i'd say it wasn't very comfortable to sleep (or be at). However, for the price, you get a great deal.
Dom left clear instructions for check in and was communicative prior to my arrival. There was a slight hiccup with my room key not being at Aden Deli, but Dom gave me instructions about how to get into the apartment. The room was basic, but a comfortable enough place to sleep. The location is awesome; it's definitely the selling point for the BnB. Overall a pretty decent experience. Not super clean, but affordable and comfortable.
Firstly the room looked nothing like the image, we were really disappointed about this. I do understand Dom has mentioned that it is like a hostel environment with your own room; this is exactly what it is. We shared a bathroom with 5 other people and at times the wait was quite long. The bathroom didn't look clean, but this is to be expected when so many people are using it. The room we stayed in was really small, there was no ceiling light only a lamp, the sheets had lots of stains and the bed was VERY uncomfortable.
I was really unhappy with our stay and this is because I was expecting the images displayed for our room. For someone who is looking for hostel prices with your own room instead it's perfect. However personally I'd rather pay more and stay somewhere that was clean and comfortable. We never met Dom, however we seen him quite abit, just didn't really have a conversation with us. We weren't greeted by him or shown around the apartment. There were quite a few people coming and going whilst we were there, everyone pretty much stuck to themselves.
Dom efficiently replied to my messages and I am thankful for the place to stay. The location was great, but it was a 10 minute walk to the nearest station.
I will go through the sheets and look for a stains, but I wish Ashleigh had told me as I could have easily given her a different set. I also would have been happy to provide her with a mattress pad had she asked. I'm confused by the statement about the photos, as they are images of the room and, aside from the use of a wide-angle lens by the Airbnb photographer, completely accurate.
Our room looked nothing like the photos. It's just like Dom has said, a hostel with your own room. The room is very small, with no ceiling light just a lamp. The bed is standard, pretty uncomfortable but it's a budget stay. It's around a 10 minute walk to the station, however there are lots of great shops within minutes walks. The area seemed safe, even when coming back late at night. The bathroom is often shared between 7 people (once again similar to a hostel), at times it wasn't the cleanest.
Our room had cobwebs, stains on the sheets and towels, a cracked mirror and looked really run down. Probably just because of the holiday season and constant people using the room.
Stay here only if you want a hostel with your own room. I was quite confused as all the reviews speak really highly of the rooms, just don't expect too much from your room and see it as a cheap place to crash.
Fantastic location. Very secure building with all the necessary amenities and kitchen facilities. Dom was very friendly and flexible.
This was an excellent price for New York, and it is only 1 stop away from Manhattan, so it is worth it. It's clean and well maintained. Please be aware though when you book it, that the room is small (fits a bed and a small closet), and that there are other rooms that house AirBnB guests. The walls are pretty thin, so if you're looking for a quiet, romantic retreat, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a crash pad that doesn't bankrupt you after a long day gallivanting around the city, it's perfect!
