This is the most trending area of Paris for living, going out & eating. It is a safe & friendly neighbourhood day and night filled with lots of authentic local activity & local prices.
Located close to all amenities, grocery stores, banks and a pharmacy open even on Sundays until evening.
My neighbourhood is known as the Village of Saint-Martin, Marché Saint-Martin being the landmark, and also famously called the theatre district (Théâtre du Splendid, Théâtre de la Renaissance, Théâtre de la Porte-Saint-Martin, Théâtre Comedia and Le Brady), home of 2 of the largest advertising firms in France, an abundant number of restaurants, cafes and brasseries, and our little community of Afro-hair dressers and nail salons nestled between history and our very beautiful city hall. We neighbour the Canal Saint-Martin, the Marais, Republique, and the 9th arrondissement.
There are many museums within walking distance. Musée de L'évantail - a local french favorite with gorgeous construction, Arts&Metier Museum - with their lovely outdoor café terrasse and zen food, opposite local park, great for kids!
You will be spoiled for entertainment choice. Visit the Maison de l'Architecture with it's amusing pebble covered outdoor Restaurant bar café + live music in evenings and sunday brunch (only summers). Hit some of Paris' best Jazz and live acts at the famous 'Morning Live'. Sit down in one of the trendy café bars and 'people watch' the new hip scene that has taken Paris.
A few meters around the corner from the apartment, you can enjoy our cute clean local indoor food market Marché Saint-Martin filled with farm counter eats, award winning chef at Au Comptoir de Brice, Allen's Food Market and more (french, italian, moroccan and delicacy shops), organic foods, the best cheeses, butchers, fresh daily fish selections, flowers and carefully selected fruits & vegetables from around the region. A great place to stock up the fridge with high quality french delicacies to eat or take home for yourself & offer as gifts!
Enjoy many other cute delicacy shops in the area, bakeries, my favorite "can't go wrong with anything" wine shop, and if you miss home, a global food store as well as an English/American food shop are foot steps away.
You will be 10 minutes walking to the Marais, Georges Pompidou Center and 5 minutes from Canal Saint Martin. This is another neighbourhood of great eats, shops and parks or just grab a bottle of wine from our local speciality wine shop by the apartment and seat yourself among the other Parisians on the Canal and take in the city.
Their are many affordable top rated restaurants, cafés, quiet retreats and terasses that ooze local fair and taste buds! You will be given a complimentary area guide of our top rated places for food, drink and entertainment musts in the area.

wow!!! what a wonderful experience! matt and his wife made every moment of this interaction warm, comfortable and easy. with prompt responses and amazing personalized lists/suggestions tailored to my individual needs, these awesome hosts ensured I had everything I needed to make this trip a spectacular one. the condo was beautiful, inviting, comfortable and conveniently located. it was stocked with everything you could possibly hope for. no detail was overlooked. I was able to enjoy my vacation, but continue to stay connected with work and everyone back home without skipping a beat. the house manual had answers to any questions I could possibly have and was so thoughtfully organized. I have used air b n b many times and have to say, as a young woman traveling alone, I was provided an experience that was safe and that gave me the confidence to feel like I was actually living in paris instead of just visiting. knowing that if should I need anything, matt and his wife were just a quick email away really also helped to ensure I was able to enjoy every moment to the fullest! a giant merci for this fabulous experience :)
Très bon accueil. Appartement très propre et bien situé. A proximité de trois stations de métro. Parfait. Merci Matt et Paula.
We throughly enjoyed our stay in Matt's apartment. The apartment is clean, modern and exactly as pictured. Matt is very easy to communicate with, and greatly assisted in our stay by providing a manual for things to do in Paris, particularly in the surrounding neighbourhood. The neighbourhood itself is in a good location; close to two metro stations, which are a short ride to the main attractions of Paris.
The apartment was as shown on the website, small but more than enough for one or two people. It’s on a quiet street and in a great neighborhood. It is 20-30 minutes walk from most places in central Paris and public transportation (metro and bus) is right around the corner for longer trips.
The host’s representative was on premises when we arrived, gave us a quick rundown of the apartment and the building, and provided some info about the neighboorhood. She also promptly answered a couple of questions we had a few days into our stay.
The neighborhood itself is great. It is fairly centrally located and has a great selection of bakeries, grocery and specialized stores, a small market and a few very good restaurants and cafés within a few minutes walk from the apartment (recommend Chameleon for dinner and Allen’s Market for coffee in the morning).
Overall, we are happy with the place and the service, and would definitely try to stay here again on our next Paris trip.
We enjoyed a lot Matt's apartment, fully stocked and very cosy. It is located in a great area and very near to the metro, bus stop and supermarket. Many inserting place are easy to reach by foot as well (Centre Pompidou, Les Marais, Republique square)
Paula has been very helpful during the checkin process and she explained us all the things about the apartment.
We definitely suggest this apt to everyone that wants go to Paris.
We had a wonderful week's stay in Matt's apartment. Location was fabulous - a stone's throw from the metro Chateau d'Eau that let us get to all the attractions very conveniently. Apartment was very comfortable with separate living room and bedroom spaces. It's right next door to city hall, and along a little quiet street but we felt very safe. Walls and floors were thin so you need to be aware not to disturb the neighbours. There were number of restaurants/cafes nearby for our choosing. Marche Franprix supermarket is less than 5 min walk so we could easily get all our necessities, and that faces Allen's market and a little pastry shop with lovely croissants. Matt could not meet us, but his friend Paula met us and gave us a fantastically detailed handover. We didn't make use of it as I'm not great at cycling, but there is a rack of bicycles for rental just outside our door if you are comfortable in riding in paris traffic. Would definitely stay at Matt's place again.

I like travelling, music, learning & speaking languages and renting out my places to friendly people like you of course. I've lived in a few different countries and have been in Paris for around 10 years.
