The perfect spot to experience cozy VT charm without missing out on modern amenities. Enjoy a change of scenery in beautiful southern Vermont. Hiking trails are right outside your door, with many more only a short drive away. Whether it's a last minute getaway or a week-long family vacation, our cabin is well equipped with 3 bedrooms plus a sleeping loft. We ensure 24 hours' downtime between guests and take extra precaution to disinfect all surfaces. Dog-friendly!

The space
Our mountain getaway is a cozy, chalet style home. You'll love the charming details like the hardwood floors, vaulted ceiling, wood-burning stove, and wrap-around porch. You'll also enjoy the modern amenities like the renovated kitchen, WiFi, and flat-screen TV with Netflix and HBO. Although there are enough beds to sleep up to 10 people, there is only one bathroom so we think it's best for families or small groups of 4-6.
/
Bedrooms:
There are three bedrooms, each with full-size bed, dresser, and closet. There is also a sleeping loft with a full-size bed and dresser. Please see house rules regarding the sleeping loft. The sofa in the living room also has a queen size pull-out bed. There are plenty of extra sheets, towels, and pillows in the linen closet next to the bathroom. We also have a pack n' play travel crib, booster seat, and a baby monitor available for guests to use.
/
Bathroom:
Bathroom is small but well equipped with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hairdryer, first aid kit, and plenty of hooks for towels and robes. Extra towels, toilet paper, and Kleenex are in the linen closet.
/
Living Area:
The cozy, open living area has a flat screen TV with Basic channels and Wi-Fi connection for Netflix, HBO, etc. Connect your phone to the speaker system with the auxiliary cable to play music. There are also tons of books, games, and even an acoustic guitar (if you're so inclined). Our favorite part of the living room is the wood-burning stove. It warms the house up so quickly and there may be extra firewood in the basement. Please see house rules regarding the wood-burning stove. In warm weather you may want to use the overhead fans, which have remote controls.
/
Kitchen:
The kitchen is fully equipped with a five-burner stove, full-sized oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, blender, crockpot, pots and pans, cooking utensils, and place settings for 10 people. Of course there is a corkscrew and plenty of wine glasses. For beer drinkers, check out our koozie collection or borrow the growler to fill up at a local brewery. We try to keep the pantry stocked with basic cooking needs like oil, salt pepper, and sugar; as well as cleaning supplies. The table in the kitchen can be expanded to seat eight and there are extra chairs sprinkled around the house.
/
Outside:
During warm weather we spend a ton of time on the porch and in the yard. There's also a gas grill on the porch just outside the sliding glass doors in the kitchen. PLEASE BE SURE TO CLEAN UP AFTER USING THE GRILL -- FOOD RESIDUE ATTRACTS BEARS.
/
Basement:
Please watch your head as you go downstairs to the basement. The washer and dryer, extra firewood, extra lawn furniture, and storage space for ski/snow gear is in the basement. Feel free to use any of the sleds, snowshoes, or other equipment in the basement. Please see house rules regarding use of sports equipment.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire home except for two locked owners closets. Please see house rules regarding owners closet's and use of specialized appliances or equipment.

Please see House rules regarding Chimney Hill and obey all posted rules and regulations.

Other things to note
Please note that Mount Snow Resort has closed for the season, as have many area bars, restaurants, and shops. The local supermarket is open and some restaurants do have take-out and delivery services, but we still recommend you bring all the food and supplies you will need during your stay in order to limit the spread. We have taken extra precautions to protect our guests and ourselves (as we are also visitors) including: self check-in via lockbox, at least 72 hours' downtime between guests, and a thorough cleaning of the entire house -- with particular care to disinfect all high-touch surfaces.

Chimney Hill is one of those old-school VT communities that has managed to stay relaxed and laid-back while still offering nice, modern amenities. It's quiet and peaceful, secluded but not remote. It's perfectly located for all sorts of outdoor activities (the main reason we come up here) - hiking, biking, winter sports, water sports, golf ... the list goes on.

I'm a Brooklyn, NY transplant, originally from NC - but I've lived all over the world (Chicago, Barcelona, Prague, Holland) and think I may have finally found a place to call home. One thing about living in NYC - you need to escape the city every once in a while and get some fresh air. My partner and I bought our cabin in Vermont so we could do just that. We love hiking in the summer and skiing and snowshoeing in winter. We hope guests at our cabin will love it as much as we do.

Guests are able to check in and out on their own, using the keys in the lock box. We prefer to give guests their privacy so you can discover things for yourself - that's half the fun! But we are happy to make recommendations and answer questions over email, text, or phone. In an emergency please don't hesitate to contact us. There are also people locally that can assist, so just let us know if help is needed.
