Peace and quiet

Guests say this home is in a quiet area.
Enjoy autumn in the Vermont mountains! Minutes away from hiking trails, lakefront, swimming, fishing, biking, golf, and more. Our cabin is the perfect spot to experience cozy VT charm without missing out on modern amenities -- including a brand new hot tub and central AC. The cabin is well equipped with 3 bedrooms, 1 bath; and you'll love the screened-in porch out back. We’re also dog-friendly!

The space
Our mountain getaway is a cozy, chalet style home. You'll love the charming details like the hardwood floors, vaulted ceiling, wood-burning stove, and screened-in porch. You'll also enjoy the modern amenities like the renovated kitchen, Central Air (A/C), WiFi, and two flat-screen TVs with Roku (sign in with your own Netflix, HBO, etc.). Although there are enough beds to sleep up to 8 people, there is only ONE bathroom so we think it's best for families or small groups of 4-6.
/
Bedrooms:
There are three bedrooms
- each sleeps 2, has a dresser, and a closet. The loft is off-limits due to safety issues. The sofa in the living room also has a queen size pull-out bed. There are plenty of extra sheets, towels, and pillows in the linen closet next to the bathroom. We also have a pack n' play travel crib, booster seat, and a baby monitor available.
/
Bathroom:
Bathroom is small but well equipped with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hairdryer, first aid kit, and plenty of hooks for towels and wet clothes. Extra towels, toilet paper, and Kleenex are in the linen closet.
/
Living Area:
The cozy, open living area has a flat screen TV with Roku for Netflix, Prime Video, etc. and a speaker for playing music. There are also lots of books, games, and puzzles. Our favorite part of the living room is the wood-burning stove. It warms the house up so quickly and there is extra firewood on the racks outside. Please see house rules regarding the wood-burning stove. We have Central Air (A/C) and overhead fans, which have white remote controls.
/
Kitchen:
The kitchen is fully equipped with a five-burner stove, full-sized oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, blender, crockpot, instant pot, pots and pans, cooking utensils, and place settings for 8 people. Of course there is a corkscrew and plenty of wine glasses. For beer drinkers, check out our koozie collection or borrow the growler to fill up at a local brewery. We try to keep the pantry stocked with basic cooking needs like oil, salt pepper, and sugar; as well as cleaning supplies. The table in the kitchen can be moved to seat six and there are a few extra chairs sprinkled around the house.
/
Outside:
During warm weather we spend a ton of time on the porch and in the yard. There's also a gas grill on the porch. PLEASE BE SURE TO CLEAN UP AFTER USING THE GRILL -- FOOD RESIDUE ATTRACTS BEARS.
/
Basement:
The basement is only accessible via the rear exterior door. It is not a finished basement.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire home except for locked owners closets and the loft, which is off-limits, and the basement (which is generally best to avoid unless washer/dryer are needed).

Please see House rules regarding Chimney Hill and obey all posted rules and regulations.

Other things to note
Agreement to hot tub usage agreement required for use.

Neighborhood highlights

Chimney Hill is one of those old-school VT communities that has managed to stay relaxed and laid-back while still offering nice, modern amenities. It's quiet and peaceful, secluded but not remote. It's perfectly located for all sorts of outdoor activities (the main reason we come up here) - hiking, biking, winter sports, water sports, golf ... the list goes on.

I'm a NYC transplant (originally from North Carolina) but I've lived all over the world (Chicago, Barcelona, Prague, Holland … and Vermont!). One thing about living in NYC - you need to escape the city every once in a while and get some fresh air - especially with a little one. My husband and I bought our cabin in Vermont so we could do just that. We love hiking and spending time at the lake in summer and skiing and snowshoeing in winter. We hope guests will love it as much as we do.
