Overall Guest Satisfaction

  • I had a nice time at the Sweet Spot. I stayed with 2 friends and each of us took a bedroom (including the back studio.) I had the front bedroom and slept pretty well, despite noise from people on the street late at night. (No biggie; I brought ear plugs.) My friends didn't sleep as well- had issues with the space heater in the studio and uncomfortable futon in the 2nd room. When we told Deb about the space heater the next day, she came right over the address the situation and make sure we were comfortable. I think I knew what I was getting- a cozy house with quirks in a real neighborhood- and perhaps my friends were looking for more of a hotel experience. Either way, the Sweet Spot is in a great location (fun to explore the shops & restaurants) and Deb is very sweet, too. Overall, I'd recommend it and be happy to go back.

  • We recently stayed at Deb's house over a wet and cold week in Portland. The house was cozy, incredibly convenient, and really warm thanks to the gas fireplace in the living room. Activity abounds nearby, but the double-paned windows keep out the noise and the cold amazingly well. The location is a huge selling point for this rental. There are lots of food/drink options within walking distance, parking was easy, as was accessing the rest of portland from there. We were a couple and a dog, for which the house was perfectly sized, if not more than needed. We didn't bother with the other bedroom or back house. The house might be a bit small for two couples, but would be great for a family or a couple friends. My only caution is to those with back problems like myself: the main bed is very soft and made me quite sore. Those without back problems would be fine.

  • I had the best time at the sweet spot! The house was lovely, very clean, cozy, wonderful fireplace, and a great deck and yard! I loved that I was able to bring my dog with me, he had a great time there too. Deb was a great host, very responsive with texts, and the neighborhood is great! The house is located steps away from good coffee, restaurants, and bars. There is outside noise from the food cart area next door during the evenings which I really loved, makes the place feel very safe. I wish I didn't have to leave!

  • The location was really good! We enjoyed the local breakfast and dinner spots that we always walked to. Deb was a superb host! The Sweet Spot was very enjoyable, and the bed was very comfortable. If staying for a long time, I recommend this as a 2 person house!

  • Sweet Spot lives up to its name! The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well-stocked and the house is cheerful. Deb's sense of color makes the house especially enjoyable. We stayed for two weeks, during which we hosted family and friends. We had many enjoyable meals in the back yard. We are two retirees and give the Sweet Spot two thumbs up for elders as well as youngers.

  • FANTASTIC!!!! This trip to Portland was the best. We have stayed in hotels and with family, this was by far the best. The Sweet Spot made us feel like we were in our own home. The restaurants and shops are right there. So many we had to go for a midnight snack at the Grilled Cheese Bus the night before we left, its literally next door. My recommendation to anyone thinking of trying this way of travel, do it. Deb was so helpful and easy to work with. The coffee and tea provided was just a little extra touch and appreciated the first morning. Hope to be back next year. Danielle and Dan

  • Overall fantastic stay at the 'Sweet Spot'. Ideal location to walk to several food options and bars. Definitely take the longer walk down to Pine Street Biscuits! (you wont regret it). The house was cozy and had a great back porch area to hang out and socialize. Although Deb was out of town during our stay, she was very responsive and made sure we were taken care of during our stay. Thanks Deb!

  • This certainly is located in a sweet spot in Portland! We were walking distance from great eateries, shops, and cafes as well as easily accessible to downtown and some of our fave spots in SE Portland. We visit often and have been making the Airbnb rounds and will definitely keep this spot in mind! We tried negotiating a late check out, which didn't work out, but Deb was on top of it the whole time and kept us up to date, which we really appreciated. I shouldn't have been surprised there was a reservation right after ours since it's such a great deal.

  • The sweet spot was exactly as described. A sweet spot in a great Portland Neighborhood. It reminded me of when I used to live there years ago. House feels like a good Old Portland home, with the charm of the area. Plenty of restaurants in walking distance...and close into town. Spent time there with 2 work colleagues, and having 3 separate sleeping spaces was really nice. Deb was easy to get hold of and very helpful. Would definitely stay here again. Thx Deb.

  • Deb was a fantastic host, very communicative and helpful, and quickly fixed any issues we had. We stayed for a week, including during Last Thursday, which is a blast. We brought a white noise maker which masked all late night sounds, and would be a good idea for people who are easily woken by noise. My only complaint about the house is that the curtains are not black out, so bring an eye shade if you can't sleep with light! The Sweet Spot is in a perfect location to explore Portland! Thanks Deb!
