Helen is a wonderful host! She is lovely, helpful and gave us plenty of information about the area and things to do. She really saved us from setting and doing too much in one day. (Thank you, Helen). The house is interesting with pieces from all over the world, and we loved our little visit from Stormy(?) the dog :-) We recommend this place if you want to see the Ring of Kerry and stay in Kenmare, especially if you have a big group (plenty of room).

We had a wonderful time in Kenmare area at Helen's place. Helen is a very cheerfull, welcoming and caring host, with plenty of good advice for visits and good places. The house is really great, quiet, pretty, comfortable, with large windows from our room towards the river.

My best friend and I were made to feel so incredibly welcome at Kevin and Helen's house. Although Kevin was away on business, it was an absolute pleasure to meet Helen and her mum, Mary. From the moment we walked through the door, they both made sure we understood that their house was a "home away from home". Mary gave us a tour of the house and showed us to our rooms (we booked one room each for 4 nights) and were allowed the freedom to use the house as if it was our own. The house, by the way, is beautiful. As is the garden and the surroundings in the local area. Each room has an en-suite bathroom with a shower and large, comfortable beds. The view from my room (room 3) was incredible. I woke up each morning to look over the water to the mountains on the other side. Even when the weather wasn't the best, the views were still fantastic. If only my house in London had such nice views! Mary and Helen are both incredibly friendly and easy to get on with. We spoke for hours and hours throughout the week about our travels, our home countries (Ireland, I'm from England, my friend is from America), things to do in the area and all sorts of other topics. Both Helen and Mary were incredibly helpful in pointing us towards the best things to do in the local area and they really do have an extensive knowledge of their surroundings. They told us all about the touristy and non-touristy things to do, many of which we'd never have heard of without them. They were able to help us create our route and itinerary almost every day and offered to be there if we ran into any issues along the way, which thankfully we never did. Overall I'd recommend staying in Kenmare and with Helen, Kevin and Mary to anybody. My friend is already talking about coming back in a couple of years with his girlfriend and if anybody I know wants to visit Kerry, I would recommend this lovely place in a heartbeat. I hope and plan to definitely keep in touch with Helen and Mary and look forward to seeing them again the next time I'm across in Ireland!

We had a very pleasant stay with Kevin and Helen who were very friendly and welcoming. Their house was warm, inviting and located in a quiet area close to Kenmare town. We were able to utilise the kitchen facilities and it was nice to cook a dinner at home after a long days drive. Both Kevin and Helen shared with us their local knowledge of the area and gave us suggestions on places to see, places to eat and roads to travel to our next destination. They were contactable before and during our stay and left clear directions on how to find the house. All in all, a wonderful experience.

Among all our previous great experiences on Airbnb, staying in Hellen and Kevin's place was definitely the sweetest experience we had. Everything was the same or even better than what's been said on Airbnb. Besides giving all the information we needed for visiting around, they gave a lot of freedom around the house, which was really good! There's one more person I have to mention here is grandma Mary, she's such a lovely person to talk to, we felt taken care of with her help on the clothes. Big thanks again to this sweet family.

Helen was an amazing host welcomed us with tea and lots of history on the area and what places would be the best to see. Great location to the ring of Kerry and a very comfortable house and setting. We really enjoyed our stay.

I would stay with Kevin and Helen again in a heartbeat. There home is beautiful, with a gorgeous view of the mountains. Kevin gave me a great suggestion for a nice lunch when I arrived, and Helen's recommendations for driving the ring and for a local's bar with Irish dancing were both spot on. And their dog Storm was the cutest! I wish I could've stayed longer, and I'm sad I never got to say goodbye since I hit the road early, but all in all had a lovely stay.

Kevin & Helen User ProfileKevin & Helen is a superhost.

We are delighted to offer you a home from home on your travels here on The Ring of Kerry. Our home offers spectacular views of Kenmare bay all the way out to the Atlantic Sea. We are a family that enjoys hosting guests. We both enjoy travelling, reading, the area around us and making life fun. We live in the house with our daughter Aoife (who is passionate about writing) who is 16 and our small dog Storm. Helen's mum lives separately in a Granny house at the back, so there are always people around to interact with and offer advice for both travel and the local area.
We love to travel and we use Airbnb both as hosts and guests. We love the experience of travelling through Airbnb as it offers us what we value most a home based, local experience while travelling. Helen is a Social care professional and Kevin is a business and marketing graduate. We now work in furniture creation and retail and our home is furnished with some of our own unique furniture.

Our home provides a base from where you can explore the ring of Kerry or the Kerry area. It is situated on Ireland's world famous Wild Atlantic way coastal route, that spans 7 of Ireland's counties along the West coast.

Our home offers a relaxed, comfortable and cozy space to explore this wonderful scenic area. We really enjoy living in our home and we enjoy sharing the experience of our home with other travellers.
