I have a spare bedroom in my place. I'm right next to a bus route that will take you straight into the heart of the French Quarter. Also nearby is a grocery store,Walgreens, pretty much whatever is needed.
It's a quiet space,it's close enough that you can be around the chaos of the quarter but when you want peace and quiet to sleep, you'll find it right here. In the spare bedroom there is a futon bed as seen in the pictures. A couple could sleep on it or even the couches seen in the pictures.
Guests will have access internet, washer, dryer, refrigerator, just about everything. There is only one bathroom so we would be sharing that.
Interaction with Guests
If I have the time, I don't mind hanging out with them. If you want to eat somewhere, let me know and I'll make time for that! I don't mind picking up and dropping them off from the airport or even dropping them off at certain parts in town if I have the time. Probably 99% of the time I'll be at my house while the guest is there.
The neighborhood is pretty quiet. It's located right by UNO campus. If you walk through the campus you'll hit Lakeshore Dr. It's a nice area to hangout. You could even walk to city park if you really wanted too from my house.
There are easy ways to get around. Walking a couple of blocks away from my house to bus 55 takes you all the way down Elysian Fields and turns right onto Decatur St which is right where the Quarter begins.
Or if you wanted to take a more scenic route via the Streetcars into the city you could take bus 60,which is 2 blocks away, and transfer to bus 91 to the beginning of the streetcar line. This takes you right into City Park. I actually work very near there so I can always drop people off there if they'd like.
As far as house rules: no pets,drugs/smoking, or other surprise guests. Just be clean and clean up after yourself if you decide to prepare something in the kitchen.
Sebastian made my experience as a traveler in New Orleans easy and comfortable. He didn't just host me in his house -In a very comfortable, private and, above all, silent room - but he also gave me very useful advice for me to explore the city. He speaks Spanish very well, and that's wonderful if you are from Latin America or Spain.
I'd totally recommend this option if you wanna go to NOLA. It's more than decent, and its price more than fair.
Sebastian was extremely gracious as a host and the room was more than comfortable enough. I also like that the room has flatscreen TV with cable! Even though the room isn't located in the centralized tourist area, I was also able to get around easily on the buses, and there are several within walking distance. If you don't have or rent a car, after around 11 pm, you do need to rely on cabs from the Quarter or other central areas to get back home, which was fine for me.
The reservation was canceled 35 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Sebastián es un chico muy majo y amigable. Por suerte, su conocimiento del español nos hizo aún más fácil la convivencia durante los días que compartimos la casa con él y nos ayudó con información útil sobre la ciudad.
Sebastian is a great host. He is really cool and friendly. I enjoyed my stay at his place.
Sebastian was very welcoming and respectful to me as a guest. We had a quick chat, and he provided all the information I needed to know about using the bus from his location. He even offered to pick me up from the French Quarter himself, but I easily navigated the bus system on my own.
A nice, safe and quiet location. All the amenities you need for a pleasant stay.
Would definitely recommend.
Sebastian ist ein sehr netter hilfsbereiter Gastgeber. Er hat uns immer gute Tipps für unseren Aufenthalt gegeben. Wir würden dort immer wieder gerne "einchecken" ☺
