Sunny master bedroom with private bath. Natural light, great trees. Easy access to downtown, east side, airport, Mueller Trails, Austin's great food, University of Texas, Dell Children's.
The space is very inviting and inspired. People always comment immediately how comfortable they feel here. Great neighbors who all know one another but maintain privacy. It's convenient to Austin's most popular destinations, while predictably quiet at night. Except for extended stays, closet space is limited.
Wi-fi, private bath off master bedroom, iPhone/iPad docking stereo in room, shared living room, dining room and kitchen. Near bus stops to UT and downtown; local bike rentals are 1.5 miles away. Though Austin is better by car for most people.
Interaction with Guests
Please note my account cannot accept requests if your profile is incomplete.
Usually you're welcomed in person and given information to make the most of your stay. The house is shared, though generous amounts of common space and your private bedroom/bath allow you to select if you interact.
Natural light, great trees. Five miles from downtown. Not in the thick of things or walking distance to festivals. But you are rewarded with quiet and easy access via car downtown, east side, airport, Mueller Trails, Austin's great food, University of Texas, Dell Children's.
Readily accessible to any part of Austin, though people find Austin best by car. If you travel well and investigate you will find the location a snap. If you want to walk everywhere I would try listings right downtown.

This was our first Airbnb experience and I doubt anything else will compare. Theresa was such a great host. She was friendly and welcoming and we immediately felt comfortable and at home. Her house is beautiful and eclectically decorated with interesting things to look at at every turn; beautiful art, great books!. The neighborhood is safe, quiet and relaxing--great for a stroll or a run. We were able to sit out on the back patio and read and listen to the birds at the feeders and really unwind in peace. The airport and downtown are also very convenient and close by. Theresa had excellent recommendations for food and always went the extra mile with directions, maps and ideas. Having coffee/tea and breakfast available was a great help too. We will definitely stay with Theresa again. She was lovely and friendly, the area was lovely and we had an awesome time. My only regrets are that we were not there longer and that KittyJune was so laid back we barely saw her. Theresa is the best. Don't miss out if you're in Austin!
This is just not what I expected at all. My first airbnb in Dallas was amazing. Clean, private, locked door in bedroom suite, quiet.
This is just the opposite. Bad neighborhood, Scary in fact. Used bar soap in the shower and sink. No place to hang one thing. All of Theresa's clothes, personal belongings, hygene products, and other stuff cluttered my room. My bedroom door didn't lock, the cat kept clawing at the door, No TV, dirty, unfinished floor and paint jobs, no way to open a window due to safety issues. I couldn't have stayed in a worse place. I had to stay here 3 nights, All of my belongings had to be kept on the floor and piled around the room. Seriously??? Couldn't get out fast enough.
First off, the house is very well decorated, clean, and homely. Teresa communicates everything ahead of time, including breakfast options, and is personable as well. While I stayed there on my trip to Austin, her cat was a sweet companion (though she won't insist on your attention). Overall, it was a very positive experience.
Theresa was such a warm & welcoming hostess for my first AirBnB experience! She was incredibly quick to respond to any of my questions, from the time I booked the trip through our arrival and stay. Her lovely & eclectic home is in a convenient location, and I loved admiring her decor. Meeting her precious kitty June was a real highlight, too, for this animal lover. Theresa is a perfect Austin insider & hostess.
Teresa's home was very comfortable and homey. Although I didn't meet her she was very helpful on the phone with ideas of places I could go. After navigating Austin during a festival day, her house was a haven to return to. Sitting on the back patio with a glass of wine, I was treated to a firefly show!
Her kitty was as sweet as could be while she talked me into feeding her.
Theresa's house is a funky place to stay, good location for me, comfortable bed. Two other guests were there who I didn't know, but we all went to the same graduate school and knew a lot of the same people--Airbnb at its best.
Theresa was great! A very warm and friendly welcome. She made sure I knew where everything was in the house and that I knew my way around town. The room is exactly as described -- large, light-filled with a very comfortable bed and big fluffy pillows. The house is in a quiet neighborhood that is convenient to major roadways that get you both downtown and up to the Arboretum area. I would definitely stay again, and recommend this room to others.

I make maps for a living and love people, food, art, swimming, my fantastic friends, our dinner parties, music, my work, travel and playing outside. I thrive on creating interior spaces that provoke interest but allow for recharging at day's end. As a veteran Austinite, I can direct you to authentic places and things to do.
One of my favorite experiences living here is people repeatedly coming in, taking in the surroundings, and saying "It feels like home here." I like that I can offer that along with a convenient location.
