Great location and great hosts. From coffee and tea in the room to well appointed, clean accommodations, to overall comfort, this is a great place to stay in Charlottesville, especially if you want to be near the downtown mall. The hosts are very welcoming and have a great place for guests to enjoy Charlottesville.
I spent 8 nights in Caroline and Jack’s house and I was delighted with my choice of hosts from the very first. My room was cosy, pleasant and old fashioned in a beautiful way. During the first few warm days I used the lovely porch to read. The location – two short blocks from the downtown shopping area - is perfect. Sharing the bath was no problem at all, and the few hours I spent in the wonderful living room helped me to rest.
Caroline and Jack, your house is just wonderful, you are wonderful hosts, I hope I can come back soon.
A great location near to central mall with lot of bars and restaurants, easy walk all way from Amtrak station. They are so cool couple and are very down to earth. I am so impressively by house, love their style with collection of old antiques and a bedroom is nice old fashion room, cleanliness and space. They a re great host to talk and well respected treat for guest.
Fabulous hosts, fabulous location, beautiful house. even found me a toothbrush when i'd forgotten mine. charming couple. unfortunately in an old house, one hears everything, so comings and goings were audible. the room would benefit from a fan or a bit of white noise to mask the footsteps on the staircase.
I absolutely loved staying in this beautiful house! Caroline made me feel so welcome from the moment I arrived. The bed was very comfortable, I loved being so close to beautiful downtown Charlottesville, and the whole experience was a delightful treat. I only wish I had had time to receive an Ayurvedic consultation from the lovely Caroline.
caroline was friendly, accommodating, and easy to reach. the room is beautiful -- and there's not a better location in all of charlottesville. truly a lifesaver on a busy football weekend. many thanks!
This was such a lovely and inspirational place to stay for five nights. There was a dizzying variety of books to peruse, and chatting with Caroline and her family was something I really enjoyed. Caroline is a very genuine and accommodating host, and it was very easy to communicate with her regarding travel plans and room usage. In particular, I appreciated how Caroline helped me work around the few times I needed to borrow her phone when I misplaced it. It was rather hot (around 90 F) in Charlottesville when I stayed there, and the rooms were adequately air conditioned. All this made for a very pleasant experience, and I would love to stay here again when I'm in town.

We are a young couple building a meaningful life together in lovely Charlottesville! I am an Ayurvedic Practitioner ("Ayurveda"-the world's oldest living system of medicine and healing from India) focusing on nurturing "wholeness," health, and balance through holistic nutrition and lifestyle therapies. Our house provides a centre for healing and rejuvenation where I offer Nutrition & Lifestyle consults, seminars and workshops, and week-long wellness immersion retreats. As a passionate cook, I can usually be found in the kitchen creating vibrant vegetarian dishes and healing tinctures. My fiancee, Jack, is an entrepreneur. He loves good books, music, culture, and is incredibly knowledgeable about, and impassioned by, film. He also has an uncanny ability to uncover interesting history about forgotten places and roads. We are so poised that our home allows us to bring our passions for health, beauty, and culture together in an environment which supports that. As hosts, we are happy to allow as much or as little privacy during your stay as you like, and we are always on hand to field any questions. As we have both traveled and lived in different places, we have a grasp of what makes a visit and stay comfortable. I am originally from Charlottesville, and Jack has lived here on and off for many years. Together, we can provide a great breadth of recommendations and resources for your visit!
