My boyfriend and I felt very welcome, relaxed and safe in our charming and spacious clean room in the house next to the family-house. A rental car is a must however in this remote area of the island. Don't trust on (website hidden) maps to find it.
Paul & Carol's place is a lovely oasis in the centre of the island. The hosts are sweet, helpful and informative. We arrived late one evening and there was nothing open in the area so Carol warmed us some food and shared a bottle of wine with us. The room was clean and spacious and stocked with some basics in case you forget anything. We had lots of privacy and truly enjoyed our stay.
It's rather off the beaten path and you will need a vehicle to get around- that's really the only downside. The huge upside though is that you get to see and experience the island like locals do. There's no tourists and no tour buses or cruise ships docking in this area making the experience of driving through the area unique and authentic.
We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone!
Great experience. This was my first time using AirBnB and I was nervous since I was going solo on an international trip. Carol and Paul were incredibly nice, the pictures were very accurate, and it was a great price. Highly recommend!
Directions to Charming and Spacious were clear and easy to follow. It was a pleasure to be met and given assistance with our luggage. Paul and Carol, and children were all very friendly, a pleasure to talk to, and provided several generational viewpoints to life on St.Maarten. You simply cannot get this type of interaction and feedback from resort or hotel employees. Our guest room and the amenities in the common areas exceeded our expectations.
I stayed here by myself for a few nights and it was everything I wanted. Quiet, clean, spacious, and kind hosts. The pool is amazing and I had it to myself most of the time. It was a great first Airbnb experience and I'll definitely be back!!
Paul and Carol were very accommodating hosts. Any questions asked were easily answered.
The directions to their house were spot on.
Nice and quiet community.
Beautiful views from the house of the valley below.
Thanks again for making the stay enjoyable!
