  • We had a wonderful romantic getaway from the city. The cottage is beautiful, just like the pictures. Very clean and comfortable, felt like home away from home! Highly recommended!

  • We stayed here over the July 4th weekend, and it's difficult to come up with something different from all the previous great reviews, as they are all accurate.

The cottage is very relaxing. It's about 10 minutes north of Saugerties village. It's also an easy drive up 9W to Catskill and then Hudson if you an tto go in that direction.. The photos of the cottage are totally accurate, and everything your might need for your stay is provided. It is right on the road, as one reviewer mentioned, so it's not some setting far from civilization, but it wasn't a problem for us as maybe two or three vehicles went by in a typical hour.

You enter and there's a foyer and then a small kitchen, and then a large room that contains a small dining table that can open up and and the living room furniture. The bedroom is off of the living room and has sliding wood doors. All the furniture is comfortable, everything is relatively new, and John and Angela keep the cottage very clean.

Overall, it was very relaxing, and also good value for the rates they charge.

  • We had a wonderful stay at John and Angela's place. This small cottage in Saugerties was a great place to stay for a nice and relaxed weekend. We arrived late the beds were made, and we found everything we needed. It was impeccably clean, convenient and well-equipped with local information, fresh vegetables from the garden, and always with the hosts ready for us.

Highly recommended if you are looking for a place in the area!!

  • We had the most relaxing time at John and Angela's cottage. They were great hosts- completely available, and yet very respectful of our privacy. They had fruit and snacks waiting when we checked in, as well as milk, juice and coffee. The cottage itself was perfect- cozy and comfortable. We spent much of our time relaxing on the deck and enjoying the quiet country view. There were several places nearby to kayak, and quite a few delicious restaurants in Saugerties. (Don't miss Love Bites in the village and New World Home Cooking on Rte 212) We would definitely come back to John and Angela's country cottage.

  • The cabin was everything we hoped it would be--clean, stylishly appointed, and functional. The only thing that differed from the description was that there was no wifi (this was fine as we did have cell signals, just something to note).

John and Angela's place made for a great home base for our weekend upstate. Would definitely visit again.

  • 5 of 5 stars for John and Angel's stellar country cabin. More than a "cabin", it is more like a beautiful, cozy, small country home. Simply put, it is the best - #1 - accomodation (at the best value) among all the places we stayed at in our 6 trips to Saugerties and surrounding area in the last three years.
The location, decor and layout are top notch. The bedroom has a beautiful queen size bed, walk-in closet and sliding doors. The living room is cozy with a "table for two" placed nicely in an adjacent area near the kitchen. The kitchen is compact but complete, with a refrigerator that served our needs perfectly for the weekend. The bathroom is beautiful and spacious, recently renovated. The entry area is perfect for placing any ouertwear and footwear.
There is a spacious balcony with sliding doors. The balcony has a very nice view, accompanied by sounds and sights the many birds in the area.
John and Angela left out fruit and healthy snacks as well as juice in the refrigerator. The refrigerator and freezer unit was small but more than met our needs for our 3 day stay.
Down to the smallest detail, the furniture and decor were chosen with much thought (and good taste).
The entertainment center had a very nice flat screen, though with the high speed wi-fi, we ended up streaming shows and movies in the bedroom on our Kindle and I-pad. A matter of taste, of course, but the DVDs they leave for the guests were excellent.
John stopped by (actually came over to our car as we were going out one day) to make sure everything was ok.
A repeat of above, but worth expanding on, my wife and I have had various types of accommodations in our 5 or 6 trips to the Saugerties area over the last 3 years - hotels, country inns and B & B's. Without a doubt, John and Angela's country home is, by far, the finest accomodation (and the best value for the cost).
They are also, as you will see, environmentally conscious, very "green", which we personally found very refreshing.
Lastly, but a special bonus for us, John & Angel left brochures of places to see. We actually found information on 2 places that we had not been to in our previous trips: Olana and Falling Waters. Loved them both.
We highly recommend staying here and know we will be back on our next trip to the Saugerties/Woodstock/Rhinebeck/Kingston area!!

  • It's a beautifully renovated little cottage and Angela was very nice to welcome us and give us some tips for the place and the area. Extra special to see their welcome basket as fruit and nibbles when we arrive (along with a few things in the fridge). Great weekend.

  • What a beautiful cabin in the woods. Had a great time in a lovely area of upstate NY. John was awesome and accommodating. They had left us a nice bowl of snacks, with wonderful tasting apples and nuts. Even a little OJ and milk for our coffee in the morning.
I would definitely come back and stay again.

  • What a perfect place for a weekend getaway. My wife and I felt really relaxed in the cottage. We found the place to be without fault. The bed was comfy. The kitchen had everything we needed to make a few meals. Angela came to say hello and check on us when we arrived. Our hosts made sure we knew we could contact them should we need to, but were very respectful of our privacy. All in all a perfect stay.
