My comfortable pt is located 2,5 km from the city center. I could recommend a nice walk along the beach 50 meters from the apt-along the sea side, a nice hike on one of the nearby mountains to hunt the light,or take my bike to explore the Arctic area
Close to fabulous hiking and ski terrains, beach and sea side excellent for a fresh walk near the elements. When the winter settles you can enjoy the nearby located ski lift 900 meters from my apartment. Or start your Arctic holidays or bizz meeting in the polar city with a jump into the Barents Sea, direct from the apartment facility :)
The apartment is as you can see close attached to the Barents Sea. Wake up fresh & clear to the sound of waves hitting the stones 2 meter below your bed and be ready to explore all treasures of the Arctic!

It was a great stay. The apartment is with great view, cozy, homey, clean and convenient. Personally perfer this type of traveling style. Sindre kindly picked me up from the airport, when, I'm told, dropped off other 2 guests. Although met him only for that 2 hours during my stay, but I was well informed about the apartment, the bus route and the aurora hunt - although no luck with that. I'd recommend Sindre and his apartment.
Do NOT recommend. Dirty, disorganized and over crowded. When we arrived the kitchen was full of dirty dishes and the bathroom was really quite filthy. There was another person sleeping in the living room and we were informed 4 - 5 more people were arriving in a few days -- this is a very small apartment with only one bathroom. Even worse, Sindre told us he was going out of town and *we* would be responsible for getting the new guests settled and arranging a time for them to pick up keys. We were woken up at 2:30 in the morning by loud music and drinking conversation and this went on until 5 in the morning. At which point we gave up and booked a hotel online and left. If Sindre were charging youth hostel prices _maybe_ this would have been workable but our hotel turned out to be about the same price only with a lot more room and privacy. If you still decide to stay here I would confirm how many people you'll be sharing with and whether or not there will be any kind of lights out period -- but I do not recommend it.
This rewiew is by no means based upon normal "facts & figures but rather on the contrary. Unfortunately I must say. US citizen Miss Harris`s first meet with The Arctic Norwegian environment and winter scenery must have been such a frightening and shocking experience itself, that she was more than uncomfortable in the second she arrived the airport. I find no other reason for this very interesting rewiew. And I find it unneccessary to comment Miss Harris` statements and accusations any further as I don`t consider nor see them as much legitimate.
Amazing view and cozy stay. I didn't get a chance to meet Sindre but we spoke over the phone. It was a bit difficult to communicate; we wanted to do the aurora borealis hunt with the recommendation from Sindre but eventually went to look for our own hunt at the tourist centre. We were also surprised that there were 2 other guests who were sleeping in the living room the first night we arrived. They were very friendly and gave us so much advice on how to get around the city and the tour sites to visit such as the cable car. We saved a lot of money by cooking at home!!! We spent 3 nights there. It was so nice that we would just hang around the house and chill out. I sat at the balcony and painted the view. Will definitely come back to stay here again if I am in Tromso.
Sindre is a great guy and his pad is really nice, right on the bay with amazing views, I'd definitely stay with him again.
Enjoyed the stay here very much. Great location and good price, the host is really helpful and understanding. An Arctic home away from home!
The flat has everything you need for a pleasant stay.
the panorama you see from the house is spectacular, it is not in the center but well connected by public transport.
Sindre is a host very helpful and he gave us all the information for our stay, as well as helping us in a difficult situation.
We have been to Tromso to see the Aurora, and we succeeded.
We were so lucky to see it again close to the our house too!
When we come back to Norway definitely we will consider this accommodation. Thanks Sindre.
We stayed with Sindre in early January in an effort to see the Northern Lights. Sindres apartment is modern and beautiful, complete with everything you will need. Sindre is very welcoming and was kind enough to pick us up and drop us off the airport. He is warm and friendly and a very kind host. The apartment itself is situated out of the city and it takes about 40 minutes to walk to the city in the snow, however there are local buses available. Sindre was also nice enough to organise a tour with an Aurora company, which is owned by his brother, and we saw the lights! Overall we had a great time!
beautiful home which takes a bit of travel to reach the city centre, but it's worth staying further away just for the sea that's right beside you and the tranquility. if you're lucky you may even catch the northern lights right at the balcony which we did. and sindre is a charming and lovely host. very spontaneous and fun to hang out with! i am definitely coming back to tromso.
Being a trained doctor, he also helped my family member with his upset stomach. Very warm hospitality in the cold arctics :)
we were a family of six and he made special arrangements by putting additional beds and all that. we had a great great trip :)
We spend three amazing days in Tromso in the really cosy and comfortable appartment from Sindre! Sindre picked us up from the bus, he cooked traditional food and tried to make our residence so nice as possible. Besides he is really interessed in the history of norway and knows about the culture as well. His appartment is on the other side from the city but with bus or by walk is it very easy to get to. Besides you have a great view from his balcony.
We will come back!!!
The place that I stayed has a magnifical view of Tromso city. It is located by the sea. You can hear calming sound of the swashing waves at your room window and you can drowse off easily... The place is not in the middle of the city center, but you can walk the neighbourhood and get to the center easily passing by the schools, Tromso Cathedral and bridges and watch the panaroma of the city.
Sindre is very amiable young man and one of the most helpful, generous hosts that I ever met. Also he is very sociable, gracious I very much enjoyed talking to him...
He really took care of me. I am very happy to stay with him.
