Recommended to visit the historical center of Padua's Basilica del Santo, Botanical Garden, the Scrovegni Chapel with Giotto's paintings, university, class of Galileo, Coffee Pedrocchi Zabarella Palace (exhibition famous painters), Abano Terme, Veneto Villas (of Palladian architecture have important frescoes and decorations), Venice and other cities of the Veneto: Treviso, Verona, Bassano, Castelfranco Veneto (Giorgione's paintings), Asolo (Eleonora Duse), Marostica (game of chess to the streets in traditional costume), Este, Feltre Belluno.
We rented two rooms at Luana's place and we were very satisfied. The rooms and the bathroom were nice and clean. The hosts - friendly and communicative. The location was also fine, though a bit difficult to find at first, so it's best to take a taxi from the station. We definitely recommend it!
The room was up one flight of stairs and was very quiet, clean and comfortable. It was more like a little studio apartment: a table and chairs, two separate and comfortable beds, a small fridge, a very roomy bathroom, our own little balcony on which we could sit and relax. There was even a kettle (!unusual in Italy) as well as coffee-maker, small fridge and tea/coffee/sugar, cups, plates, biscuits.
Luana was very friendly and helpful, and had provided lots of local information, marked in English for us. She advised us on how to get to Vicenza and Venice (cheap and easy). Our few words of Italian and her few words of English worked fine for communication. The house was set in a quiet garden by a river, away from the main road, close to a big traffic intersection, but traffic noise was distant and not disturbing. The house was warm and comfortable, and in hot weather it would be pleasantly cool with big windows to the balcony.
It is important to say that you need to like walking, because it is 20 minutes brisk walk to the edge of the historic centre, where all the restaurants and tourist sights are, or to the railway station. However, there are several buses passing frequently within a minute or two of the house, and if you buy a tourist membership/friendship pass from the tourist office, it includes local bus transport as well as entry to many tourist sights. Buses from the centre seemed to stop at 9pm but there was one restaurant we found on Trip Advisor which was only five minutes walk away, called Tio Pepe – it was not cheap but it was very good food. A very comfortable stay, thank you Luana!
Luana Calabrese is very nice person. We arrived at her home at about 11 pm and she was very gracious and kind. Although she doesn't speak much English we managed to communicate well. She was helpful about getting around Padua and what and where to catch the buses. Her little dog Lulu was very cute and we enjoyed her. All in all our stay was very good. The only thing missing was TV, but we knew that when we booked. Thanks Luana we enjoyed staying at your place. Fran & Tom OConnor
Only 38 minutes by bus to Venezia. And bus stop to Centro Padova at corner of street. Room has hot plate and fridge with lovely balcony. Very secure with gated parking. Luana was very friendly and had a good deal of written info on the area. Enjoyed our stay.
Luanda is a very awesome and friendly host. Even though there is slight language barrier, she still will try her best to assist us.
The location is peaceful and nice.
A lovely little room in a very beautiful house with a super balcony.
Luana and her husband were super friendly and showed us how we got to the nearby attractions.
A great base for 1-2 guests.
Luana and her husband are really nice and helpful hosts. They provided us all the information and maps we needed as well as the essential things to eat (kettle, crockery...). The room and the private bathroom are clean. As the summer heat pushed me to sleep on the terrace on the first night I personally can say that it offers a view on the San Gregorio and the park nearby. The location is maybe a bit far from the city center but easily reachable by bus.
Great location but a little difficult to find! Its a quiet town. But is close to the lovely city square.
We spent 5 days at Luana's place. She is a great host, provided all sorts of maps, bus and train schedules and guidebooks that were very helpful. Her few words of English and our even fewer words of Italian still allowed us to communicate for necessities, and her welcome and warmth didn’t need words. We adored the location, convenient for visiting Padua and also for daily travel to Venice (about 40 minutes each way by bus), and it was great to come back to the tranquility of our little room at the end of the day… far from the crowds of Venice.
The accommodation is a studio, clean and comfortable with beds, table, coffee maker, fridge, complete bathroom and a beautiful balcony. It can be shared either by a couple or 2 traveling companions because there are 2 single beds.
