The Space

Hear the howl of coyotes, the screech of hawks and hoot of owls, all from the comfort of this lofty studio filled with everything you need for a weekend or a month long stay. Located on a dead-end street, w/ quiet views of the ocean from the property. Sometimes at night you can hear the waves crash on the beach both inside and out on your own private patio w/outdoor table & seating while surrounded by greenery & trees in a huge backayrd.

Located less than a mile from the beach, and half mile from downtown, you have the best of both worlds... peace and quiet, and close proximity to the action.

The mother-in-law flat is attached to our house, yet is completely private. You will have your own entrance, a Vermont farm table for eating and working kitchenette, access to a washer/dryer, bedroom, bathroom, living and dining room.

The bedroom has a queen sized bed, while the hide-a-bed couch in the main space pulls out into a full sized. If you have little ones, or just need extra sleeping space, we can also provide you with a full-size air mattress.

The kitchenette comes equipped with a sink, dishwasher, coffee maker, and plenty of storage. There is also a gas BBQ grill right out the front door, ready for use. There is a single burner hot plate with pots and pans which are available for LIGHT cooking.

We have a 40" HDTV connected (email hidden) (Amazon Prime & Netflix come free!) as well as a DVD player supplied with various DVD's for your enjoyment.

Our giant backyard has a variety of producing fruit trees from apples, peaches and oranges to lemons and limes (all of which you will have access to). Once you are stuffed with fruit you can lounge by the outdoor table, on a blanket in the grass or sit by the outdoor firepit.

Apartment Perks:
Plenty of clean & fresh towels
Shampoo & Conditioner
A complimentary roll of toilet paper (or two ;)
A blow dryer
Hand soap
Coffee maker and coffee
Tea

Come up the driveway and through the side gate which is visible from the street, the door is on the side of the house which opens for a half circle patio.

We may see you on the property but since we have a newborn, we are pretty occupied. If you would like to meet us just message us or knock on the front door! We love chatting!

  • This place was great! My boyfriend and I went for a long weekend over the Fourth of July. The suite was perfect for us and close to everything in the town, including the beach! We never actually interacted with Gavin, but they left a little binder of things to do in Ventura and made us feel very welcome!

  • Our stay with Gavin and Mollie could not have been better! They are so kind and welcoming. The unit is so full of light and super clean. Our children loved the outdoors and loved picking fruit off their trees. They even left some little toys by the door for our kids, so thoughtful. The bed is sooooo comfy, I was not expecting that and it was really great after a long day at the beach. The outdoor table was perfect for breakfast in the morning and has a cool view up the mountain. They are located right near a huge park where the kids played tag while overlooking Ventura and the beach! You can walk to so many great places, location, location location! Thank you Gavin and Mollie, we will stay in touch!

  • I am so lucky to have booked here. This house was exactly what we needed. Gavin and family were so sweet and attentive. The space was tucked away in your own private place. Upon arrival we were greeted with a beautiful letter from the family, with directions to everything we needed in the house. I highly recommend this listing!

  • We spent a really nice time at Gavis place. We even used the grill outside in the garden. The flat was clean and quiet. We also enjoyed the fruits from the trees in the backyard. We definitelly would stay at Gavis again. He and his family are really nice!

  • Although we did not meet Gavin, he was attentive at all times. His apartment is very nice and is in nature in Ventura. We wish to enjoy more of the house, but we were in a complete route that does not allowed us to spend more time there.

  • Had a great time during our brief stay. After a long day out bike riding and enjoying the beach, the space was perfect for us to get some much needed rest. Molly and Gavin made sure we had everything to feel comfortable. Thank you !

  • Great location, close to town. Gavin and Mollie were super nice. Highly recommend it!

  • Our stay here was just lovely. Beautiful yard, clean and comfortable house, perfect location. I would definitely stay here again.

  • Molly and Gavin were wonderful hosts for our short stay in Ventura. Their one bedroom annex is perfectly situated up in the hills above Ventura and still close to the center of town. The apartment is clean, bright with sunlight, and full of charm. The kitchen/dining room area is perfect for a couple.

My wife and I had to leave abruptly due to a family health emergency, and Molly and Gavin could not have been nicer about wishing us well, and refunding our money for the time we were going to stay in their place.

They get our highest recommendations in every regard .

  • We are a family of four and really enjoyed our stay at Gavin and Mollie's place. The remodel is very tastefully done and the kitchenette was beautiful and perfect for light meals. They provided a bottle of wine, coffee and hot cocoa. Their location is only minutes from the beach and DT Ventura, which was great for shopping and meals. As a family we enjoyed a movie from their DVD collection too. The living space was large enough for an extra queen airbed that we brought, so our kids (14 & 11) didn't have to share the sofabed (and we didn't have to hear them complain!) When visiting Ventura, we would definitely recommend staying with them.

About
My wife Mollie, son Finn and I love Jesus, love the outdoors and love getting to know new people. We are all pretty mellow, enjoy playing music and spending time in the mountains or on the beach. We have a fire pit on our back patio and spend a lot of nights around the fire, either with friends or on our own. We would love for you to come sit around our fire with us after a long day at the beach.
