The Space

This is a house - with 3 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms, and a two car garage. There is a king bed in upstairs’ Master, and a Queen bed on first floor, and there are four beds in other upstairs bedroom. The house comes with a washer, dryer, basic cable TV, DVD player, and a Roku box for streaming Netflix and Amazon videos and other free and paid streaming.

**We support the town of Truckee and the rental price includes the Transient Occupancy Tax of 10%. Registration Certificate #564.

There is a full kitchen stocked with plenty of cooking items, plates, silverware, glasses, etc. It’s pretty much stocked like our primary residence. The pantry has a variety of items and condiments, and people use, and replace, as necessary. There is a full refrigerator/freezer with ice maker, gas stove with oven and broiler, and a microwave. We have a popcorn maker, blender, waffle maker, and other items I can’t recall right now. There is a gas grille in the garage you can cook on out on the front driveway under the front deck.
There are two decks, the larger one in front and a smaller one in the back back. In the Summer we have a table with six chairs and an umbrella out front, and some plastic chairs and tables out back. There is access via doors/screen doors to both decks.
Internet and WiFi included - will provide code. There is firewood for the wood stove. There is a plow service in the winter that clears the uphill driveway once daily with 3" of snow fall. We recommend 4WD in the winter. If there is a big storm, lots of snowfall, etc., you may need to park at the base of the driveway until the snow plow service comes. In 12+ year's of ownership I've only been stuck once. :-)

There is a daily access fee for these private amenities, once paid good at other Association facilities that day, of $8/pp ages 7+. The public amenities include: Downhill skiing, Cross Country skiing, Snow Play Area, Golf Course, Equestrian Center, and a Campground. **These are open to the public for a fee, members and guests can get discounted rates.** Tahoe Donner is 30 minutes from Reno and about 3 hours from the Bay Area. Thirty minutes to Lake Tahoe. Forty-five minutes from Reno-Tahoe Airport. Donner Lake is 5-10 minutes away.

Year Around:
Trout Creek Recreation Center (weight room, cardio room, stretching room, recreation pool, lap pool, steam room, dry sauna, 3 spas with fitness classes, personal training & massage for additional fees). There are several dining options within Tahoe Donner including “Pizza on the Hill” and “The Lodge” and there is a small grocery store between the golf course and Trout Creek. See list below for partial list off offsite restaurants in Truckee area.

The association has an equestrian facility, tennis courts (10) and three (3) swimming pools, wet/dry sauna, and three whirlpools, private beach on Donner lake with boat launch, excellent exercise facility at one of the pools, golf course and driving range, hiking and biking trails. See the Tahoe Donner website for more details on the various amenities.
•Bikeworks rents bikes for adults and kids.
•Beach Club Marina has a sandy beach with shallow areas for young children (still need to be supervised) and a fishing dock, a boat dock, and a swim out wooden platform. There is a boat/jet-ski launch and rentals (one or two person kayaks, paddle boats, paddle boards, windsurfers, Hobie catamaran, and lessons can be arranged). The Beach Club also has snacks and some food service.
•The Tennis Center has a bunch of courts, paid clinics, lessons, events, access is included in the guest fee (reservations are suggested and they have a shoe policy see the website or call).
•Summer day camps for children ages 3-12 (see association website for more details).

There is ample hiking and snow shoeing within the Tahoe Donner open space, and adjoining Forest Service areas where you can mountain bike in the summer. (See association website for more details or search Truckee + Mountain Biking, Hiking, Snow Showing). There is world class mountain biking in Truckee, near Boreal, and over in Tahoe City area.

The association has a ski hill, cross-country 1 swimming pools, wet/dry sauna, and three whirlpools, excellent exercise facility at Trout Creek, hiking and Snowshoeing. See the Tahoe Donner website for more details on the various amenities.

Sugar Bowl, Boreal, Donner Ski Ranch, Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, and Sugar Bowl are all within twenty minutes from Tahoe Donner. Tahoe Donner also has an excellent beginner/children’s hill to ski 5 minutes from the cabin. The cross-country facility is the #2 rated facility in the West with extensive grooming for skating and gliding or snowshoeing.

Guest Access

Full house - w/ all standard home finishings. Also, access to the general Tahoe Donner outdoors. For a daily use fee, guests can access the pools, hot tubs, sauna, exercise rooms, beach club marina. Tennis courts and XC/Downhill Ski Hill facilities at an extra charge.

Interaction with Guests

We will get you all setup prior to your arrival. If you have any questions you can send an email or call prior to your arrival, or call us when you are at the cabin.

The Neighborhood

Truckee is a great area in both summer and winter. There is an incredible amount to do outdoors, or just chill indoors. Lots of friendly mountain people and a great assortment of activities and dining options.

Getting Around

There is regional transit at the bottom of the hill and the ski areas run a shuttle bus as well.

Other Things to Note

We try to recycle and there are blue bags in the laundry room for recyclables. If you use something up, please let us know, so we can replenish for the next guest, or if its something simple replace it and feel the karma warm your soul. These are the mountains and there are bears (infrequently) lots of deer and bunnies, and neighborhood dogs. In the Summer we generally experience great weather, and sometimes there is "monsoon" weather and it rains in the afternoon. In the Winter, Truckee is known for some pretty heavy storms, please be prepared for associated traffic due to heavy snow. We recommend a 4WD vehicle in the winter and our uphill driveway can be a challenge in a big storm.

This is Mountain Country - you need to roll with what nature delivers, be that drought, wind, rain, power outages, blizzards, etc. There are nice hotels in Truckee, and at Squaw and Northstar if that is more your speed. Otherwise, we welcome you!
