The Midtown train station for MARTA is located just down 10th Street about six blocks.

My family and I really enjoyed staying in Lee's guest house. He made us feel welcome (with wine and cheese too!), and was incredibly responsive to our needs. Although the guest house is right behind his home, we had all the privacy we needed. The neighborhood cannot be beat; it's literally right opposite the absolutely gorgeous Piedmont Park, walking distance to a number of restaurants and a $5 uber ride from downtown ATL. We'll definitely be staying here again!
I had a wonderful experience renting from Lee for a weekend in Atlanta. The location is great-- right across from the beautiful Piedmont Park-- and the guest house was very nice, clean and spacious. Our hosts even left wine and cheese! I would definitely rent here again!
We stayed at Lee's Midtown Atlanta guesthouse for 4 nights. The guesthouse was an old carriage house that had been recently renovated and sat behind the main house, up a short driveway, making it slightly secluded and private, and very quiet as well.
It was across the street from Piedmont park and walking distance to shopping, restaurants and bars as well. It was a great location for a visit to Atlanta.
The guesthouse/cottage is spacious, with a large kitchen/living area, 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and a laundry closet. There was plenty of closet space for clothes & luggage and the furnishings and linens were all very nice as is shown in the photos.
Lee was a great host. He was easy to communicate with, responding in a timely fashion to emails and texts. He had provided a nice bottle of wine, snacks and some breakfast items as well.
We took public transportation, MARTA, from the airport and it took ~30 minutes to get to the Midtown station. It was a 10-15 min walk from the Midtown station to the cottage. We were also attending a conference at the convention center downtown, which was also accessible on MARTA.
All in all a great place to stay when visiting Atlanta!
As a long-time resident of greater Atlanta, I'll tell you, there's no better location in Atlanta than the neighborhoods surrounding Piedmont Park. Lee's carriage house is directly across the street from Piedmont Park and Peachtree St is only a few blocks away. There are a number of landmark restaurants in the immediate vicinity and the Atlanta Beltline is just down the hill at the corner of the park. Nearly everything that we wanted to see was within walking distance. The neighborhood is safe and surprisingly quiet considering how rowdy certain sections of midtown can be on the weekends.
When we stayed, the carriage house had just been finished — everything was new and sparkling clean. The bedrooms, bathrooms and living room are spacious and well appointed. It's much nicer than the new hotel at the corner (which is in the same price range — we stay there for a weekend a month prior) and Lee was easy-going and so nice, and a gracious host!
About the Host, Lee
Atlanta has been my home since 1989 and I love my city, especially my neighborhood, Midtown. I enjoy walks in the park, meeting friends at some of our favorite neighborhood restaurants, gardening, and renovating houses.
