I was going to a conference in downtown Portland but was late to register. I couldn't find a nearby hotel for anything within my travel budget. Samuel's apartment was a great find. He was responsive and timely. The reservation and check-in process was easy. If you're looking for a good value in downtown Portland, I recommend it.
The studio was very clean, large and comfortable. The building itself is old but quaint. Only 0.8 miles from the waterfront and 0.5 miles to pubs and eateries in downtown. It rained while we were there but the heater was always on and we had dry towels. Samuel was very accommodating and flexible. We enjoyed the space and would recommend it.
The studio is clean and has a nice feel to it. The chairs in the bedroom were comfortable for me to work in and the WiFi was fast. The location is near a major highway, but I like white-noise and it helped me sleep. Had no problems spending four days there.
Great value for sweet little pied-a-terre in Portland. Samuel was a charming host, greeting us upon arrival. For a moment we thought we had left a phone charger in his studio and he kindly followed up right away (turned out to be a false alarm).
Samuel was a wonderful host -- very gracious and flexible despite our inconvenient flight schedule. The studio is ideally located: very accessible by public transit and an easy 10-minute walk away from the lovely Pearl and downtown districts. The space itself is clean, comfortable, welcoming, well-kept and spacious enough for two. We appreciated having full use of the kitchen and radiator heater. As mentioned by others, the complex is older and situated close to a freeway, but we were never bothered by either of those facts. Highly recommended!
Perfect little spot near downtown, with everything we needed. Samuel was very accommodating to ensure we were able to get into the apt, despite being delayed a few hours by a snowstorm.
Samuel's place was great!! It was comfortable, clean, convenient, and a great base to explore portland from. It's close to everything you could need, including transport.
Samuel himself was an excellent host. He welcomed us at the apartment, gave us some instruction on the apartment, and answered all the questions we had. He even left some great guides about Portland itself.
I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone staying in Portland.
This studio is perfect for anyone who wants to stay close to downtown Portland. It is a very charming turn of the century type building and there is plenty of room for a couple. The studio is comfortable and clean, but remember that the building is very old so you won't get super modern appliances or fixtures. It all adds to the atmosphere! Samuel was very helpful with recommendations of things to do in the city and was a great host. I'd definitely stay again on future trips to Portland!
Cool and funky, clean in the right places, and nice location near rail stop and quaint goose hollow. Samuel was there to drop the key and at the end to pick it up, very unobtrusive. Some caveats are no TV, some highway noise, and bathroom does not have much space to put your own toiletries and such.
Overall I highly recommend this eclectic, well appointed, and cost effective apartment.
Samuel was a great host; helped us find cafes and restaurants in the area, and gave us instructions on how to get to the airport. He's very timely, accommodating, and polite.
The apartment was exactly as he said: cute, convenient, and old. We appreciated being close to downtown, but not in the middle of it. One thing to note, if you are a light sleeper, maybe bring ear plugs as it is right next to the freeway.
We had a great stay! Thanks again, Samuel.
