The Space

This "straw bale" guest house with radiant flooring throughout and a wood stove has 2 spacious bedrooms and 2 baths. The home is very private with a "cozy patio" for BBQ dining or early morning coffee. The kitchen is fully equipped for gourmet cooking. La Casita, with 1100 square feet of living space, is a non-smoking, handicap accessible home. .

Guest Access

Although the home is situated in a peaceful, rural setting, it is only a 5-10 minutes drive to the Village of Arroyo Grande and Pismo Beach that boast boutique and antique shopping, dining options, beaches, bicycling, wine tasting, and Cypress Ridge, Monarch Dunes or Black Lakes golf courses. JJ's Market, less than 3 minutes away, has a selection of fresh produce and meats, a gourmet deli, and fine wines options.

Interaction with Guests

The owners love to visit with their guests. You are cordially invited for an evening of drinks (wine, beer or non-alcoholic) and light appetizers as well as to enjoy the breath-taking ocean views from the main house with the hosts.

  • Gloria and Doug made it easy. Great communication and support during the preparation. Only sorry we couldn't spend more time with them during our busy stay. House was great.

  • This was the first (and not the last) AirBnB experience with my significant other. We were able to stay at this beautiful guest home for a birthday weekend getaway at Pismo Beach. We were not disappointed at all! This home had everything we needed, minus internet access (which was not a problem since we usually share my wireless hotspot). The home is conveniently located minutes away from the market and a few restaurants, and walking distance to some farm fresh eggs (which we sadly were not able to take advantage of this weekend).

Doug is a very friendly host, and welcomed us with a gift basket of snacks! He made sure that we had no issues with the house, and ensured that we had access to anything we needed. After this great first experience, I am more than determined to use AirBnB for most of my random traveling excursions. I hope that my future AirBnB bookings will be as awesome as my experience here.

  • Our experience was great. Great views, market down the block. We even caught a night of fireworks which was an awesome surprise. Thank you to Doug and Gloria for the hospitality.

Will definitely comeback if we plan to visit San Luis Obispo in future.

  • The stay was great. This is a nice place with lots of character. The hosts were very helpful. The place was relaxing and roomy, it was great for 2 couples. The house is nice and clean. Gloria is fast to respond to any questions you may have.

  • We had a wonderful time at "La Casita." Gloria is a fantastic host, very attentive and answered all of our questions leading up to our stay. She was even flexible with our arrival time. The evening sunsets over the ocean were amazing, visible from the casita, but even more beautiful when viewed from Gloria's deck which she shared. We had a lovely time visiting with Gloria and her husband over appetizers, they are very hospitable people. The casita is perfect for a family or two couples. We had 4 adults and 2 children with no problem. The kitchen is full of everything we needed for cooking and having laundry on site was helpful. The location is great with the towns of Arroyo Grande, Grover Beach and Pismo nearby, but it feels like you're out in the country with horses on properties neighboring the casita.
We truly had a great stay and felt that anything we brought up Gloria helped with from restaurant recommendations to extra toys for our son. We would love to return to Gloria's home the next time we need a place to stay in the area.
