Hillsview Cottage was a cozy home for our weekend getaway. It was in a quiet neighborhood, but was very close to supermarkets and restaurants/takeaways. It was also a short drive (~10 minutes) to Mt Maunganui, giving us the perfect opportunity to watch the sunrise from the Pacific Ocean. (~1 hour, to drive and climb to the summit of Mt Maunganui in the early morning). The cottage was well furnished, so it was very accessible for us to simply buy groceries from the nearby supermarket then bring it back to the accommodation to cook a few nice meals. Or take a morning stroll to the nearest cafe to pick up breakfast and a coffee. The cottage's modern TV and access to wireless internet, also allowed us to connect our Chromecast to the TV's HDMI to enjoy a few movies and snacks in the lounge. The lounge was also spacious enough for the 6 of us to play board/card games on the carpet. The host, Karen, also had great communication when we were booking and staying at the accommodation. On arrival, they also had a manual giving us more information about our stay. In the manual it detailed undercover parking, which I found can be very difficult to access for large SUVs, the undercover parking is also further away from accessing the cottage, recommend using the parking on the road. Overall, would recommend; especially for short stays since it is so close to many shops to just buy the stuff you need, then to go back to the cottage to relax.

Great cottage and just like the pictures. The neighborhood is residential but you can walk to the grocery store and restaurants. Very convenient base for going to the beaches in the area and Rotorua.

Hi I am Australian and have been living in New Zealand for 3 years. I think New Zealand is a stunningly beautiful country and offers a relaxed and easy lifestyle. I trained as a school teacher (many many moons ago) and I ran an outdoor adventure education business in Australia for 25 years.

I moved here for a change of pace. I now run a cycle tour company with my partner and we take tourists on cycle tours around our beautiful area and other exciting places in New Zealand. We love it! Cycling is the pollution solution! Check us out on fr

I have 2 grown up children - my son is a Doctor and lives in Australia and my daughter is studying Acting and living in London. We are a global family. We love travelling and exploring new places and meeting new people from all around the world.

Hoping to meet you here in beautiful Tauranga soon!
