The Space

Come and enjoy staying in a beautiful 1790 post and beam home 4 minutes to Dartmouth College, downtown Hanover and the many opportunities for recreation, the arts, swimming, hiking, and depending on the season, skiing, snowshoes, kayaking, biking, and other outdoor activities. Fall foliage is almost beyond description, and you are minutes from the beauty of farms, rivers, trails and mountains. Jonathan has been a doctor here for 30years. We know the area very well and can help plan your activities.

Our post and beam house features a gorgeous kitchen with granite countertops and cherry cabinets, a stone fireplace in the great room, wide antique pine floors and limestone tiles throughout the house, beautiful gardens, rocked walls, a large stone patio and screened-in porch. Five minutes brings you to downtown Hanover with charming shops and great restaurants, movies and the renowned Hopkins Center for the Arts at Dartmouth College.

The available bedrooms (up to 3) are on a separate level and private. The very large queen bedroom includes a beautiful large private bathroom with tiled floors, river stone shower and jacuzzi tub. There are two other bedrooms available.
Tea, coffee, bagels and fruit are provided in the morning.

The price quoted is for 1 bedroom, but If you're interested in all three bedrooms for one family, contact me. Renting all the rooms would be great for a Dartmouth reunion, or visiting family at DHMC or the College.

  • I had the most beautiful night's night in months in Barb's lovely guest room! Truly, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Every aspect of my overnight was akin to what one might find in a five-star hotel, with the added intimacy of being in a gorgeously appointed home. Though I didn't have the pleasure of meeting Barb, her husband was a wonderful and welcoming host. Thank you, thank you.

  • My husband John & son Andrew stayed with Barb during a visit to Dartmouth. They raved about the hospitality shown by Barb & her husband Jonathan. They loved the big breakfast cooked by Barb each morning. They had all the privacy they needed in their ample bedrooms. Staying in their home made the college visit even more special, and they would do it all over again! Many thanks for Barb and Jonathan!

  • Barb and her husband are great! They hosted my mom for Dartmouth graduation, and were very welcoming and helpful with all questions. They have a big, beautiful home impeccably decorated, with a nice patio and walking distance to hiking trails.

  • We had a wonderful stay. Barb and Jonathan were extremely welcoming. The house is beautiful and immaculately decorated. The guest bedrooms are downstairs on their own floor, so there was plenty of privacy. We were welcomed with wine and cheese and entertaining conversation. We also got great recommendations for restaurants and hiking. I would highly recommend staying at this house and hope to return in the future.
