Tucked away in a wooded, quiet neighborhood, this 16-foot tiny house has full kitchen, nook for eating or reading, and cozy upper loft featuring full-size memory foam futon.
Near Butler University, Newfields, and Broad Ripple, guests can walk to White River/Canal and shopping area at 56th and Illinois. Ramshackle neighbors, but extremely safe neighborhood!
Composting toilet is odor-free when pee and poo stay separate. Closed in winter.

The space
All you need in 175 square feet! Lots of windows. Nook with padded benches, settee, and chair for hanging out. Window A/C for summer and in-floor heat plus space heater for spring and fall. Full kitchen (but no microwave) with three-burner propane stove, cookware, utensils, condiments, and mini-fridge. Full futon with foam topper in the loft, accessible by ladder. On-demand hot water for the tiny shower; sinks have cold water only, but tea kettle makes hot water in minutes. Composting toilet is pristine for each new guest. Fire pit next door to the south is available to guests. You’ll be happy you tried this tiny house: Tucked away in the woods, but surrounded by great neighbors.

Guest access
Parking area is shared with guests in the ‘Adorable Attic’ to the south (also on AirBnb), so Tiny House guests park on the far right. To find it in the dark, just follow the rope lights, which turn on at dusk and turn off at midnight.

Other things to note
When accessing the loft, be careful of the overhead fan (don't lean back while on the ladder!).
The composting toilet, which is clean and empty for each guest, has a fan to speed the composting. Keep pee and poo separate to avoid odors; gentlemen, please sit!
Power and water come from my rental house next door. It's city water delivered via a potable hose, and I provide a Brita filter.
In colder temperatures, supplement the in-floor heat with the space heater. Window A/C works great in the heat.
The piezo-ignition stove/oven uses propane and can start with a click of the dial or with a lighter.
The kitchen faucet only has cold water. For hot water in the kitchen, either walk six steps to the shower or boil water in the kettle.

I'm a former reporter and theatre reviewer who taught high school English to get onto my daughters' schedule. Now I manage our rental properties in Rocky Ripple, including 2 AirBnbs.
