See the stars! Our 2+ acre fenced property (see a-peaceful-dragon.com for walking tour) includes hot tub & is 3 miles from lake (boating, fishing & magnificent descending beach). Soo Line Trail has hiking, biking & snowmobiling. Upsala is solidly in farm country. Our home is 100 ft. away from the cottage; shrubs provide privacy. Wi-Fi. Park, bar & restaurant in walking distance. Diversity is welcome.

The space
The cottage itself is beautiful and light. Its timbers were locally harvested and it is artfully crafted and decorated, with a soaring loft area accessed by ladder, and cozy living space with gas fireplace. There is a very large 20' X 30' deck with chairs in the front of the cottage, a smaller, more private deck outside the back patio door, and a covered porch. The area is generally quiet and peaceful. The town welcomes you! Joan and I welcome you!

Where you’ll be

Upsala, Minnesota, United States

Upsala is a great little town. People are friendly and courteous. We have a wonderful meat market in town that makes their own brats--like pineapple/jalapeno--and award-winning bacon. We also have a thriving motor company, an Internet business, a good bar with excellent burgers and complimentary drinks for our guests (with the purchase of a meal), and an excellent restaurant. Hiking, biking, boating, snowmobiling are all available nearby.

I love people and their pets and it's fun to provide them with this big two-acre area and cozy cottage to make their own. I enjoy always updating and improving the property for us and our guests. I'm an English professor and love writing, gardening, and comedy!
