Charming walk-up apartment in Downtown Toronto located on top of a landmark Cafe. This is a Heritage Building and has so much character- High ceilings, and some of the old fixtures and detailing still intact. There is a full (although small!) washroom and kitchen to share, which leads out to a sunny back patio.
I am offering the living room/guest room for rent in this typically shared 2 bedroom apartment. Your room is private, and extremely large with two big windows facing the main College St. strip, and an amazing view of the CN Tower. There is one double sized bed and one pull-out couch available. You have your own sitting area and large desk, plus fun nick-nacks to keep your eyes entertained. There is a flat screen T.V in the room- feel free to watch any DVD you please! I also have a great cable package with included movie channels etc... There's got lots to choose from. Fresh towels available on request.
The building is central to so many great neighborhoods; Kensington Market (foodie and vintage haven), Little Italy (great restaurants and night life), China town (cheap eats), U of T (beautiful campus), Queen Street (trendy shopping), as well as the Club and Financial Districts. There is a nearby Laundromat and two 24 hour convenience stores, just a 1 and (maybe) 2 minute walk away.
The streetcar stops right outside the building, and it is only a 10 minute ride to both major subway lines. In the summer months, take the streetcar southbound to the Harbourfront... it's only a 20 minute trip! Also, this area is Bike friendly; with bike lanes and ample parking.
There are Bixis (Bikes) and motor bikes for rent directly across the street- this is a great way to get around the city.

Interesting details around the apartment, most pieces have equally interesting stories to go with them ;)
We booked the large private room for the period of one week. The room was absolutely great, looked as advertised and the location is just so great, the TTC runs in front of the house, there's a stop literally a few meters walking. There are a lot of great little restaurants (mainly Asian restaurants on and around Spadina Ave) in the neighborhood and Kensington Market offers a lot of diversity when it comes to both eating establishments and shops.
The room is great, there's a double bed and a couch which can be laid flat to accomodate 2 more people. The kitchen has everything needed to cook some meals and the fridge is big enough to store some of your own stuff. The bathroom was rather small but everything worked perfectly.
Sofia was unexpectedly not there herself, but she did all that was possible to make our stay the best possible, we could always text her and get a quick response back.
There was a mixup with the key, so we were not able to enter the apartment at the time we initially anticipated, but Sofia handled it very well and was very apologetic, it was really no big deal for us, we just chilled in the cosy Free Times Cafe which is conveniently located under the apartment.
The apartment is on the top floor, the room has a fantastic view of the Toronto skyline with the CN Tower and the skyscrapers. There is no elevator so getting big luggage all the way up can be a bit difficult sometimes.
As I said Sofia was not present herself but she did everything possible to make our stay the best possible and we are very grateful for her kindness and concern.
I will definitely be booking again with Sofia when I'm going back to Toronto (which I most likely will, it's an awesome city!).
The location is great, room huge, and Sofia is very nice. She just finished renovating the room, so it is better than the pictures.
The apartment and Sofia are perfect! Great location, close to everything. The room is big, bright, and well decorated. Sofia is soooo nice and we become friends soon. Awesome experience!!! Highly recommend!!!
I had a very comfortable stay in Sofia's large room in Toronto which is ideally located on College near Spadina. It is a great location. From the room you get a lovely view of the Toronto skyline including the CNN tower. The Spadina street car takes you down to Union or up to the Spadina subway station from where you can travel all directions N, S, E and W on the TTC. Around the corner is Kensington Market which has a variety of interesting shops and restaurants. Sofia helped to ensure that my stay was without any problems and the rest of the apartment was well equipped with a small kitchen.. It is next to a very nice cafe which serves a delicious brunch every Sunday.
We had pleasant experience with Sofia and her apartment. The location was pretty good, there is a bus stop right outside the building that you could hear buses in your room and run for them:). Also a rental car booth is right across the street. Downstairs is a cafe, where sounds of people drinking and laughing come from at night. Room was large, lively and artistic, with many interesting books around. Shared shower was small, just having enough space to fit all the necessities. Kitchen was good enough for us to use as a breakfast room, but I believe it was also functional for someone to show cooking skills. Our host was very energetic. We only briefly met her the first day we checked in, when she shared with us about herself as well as recommendations to artistic Toronto. We enjoyed talking with her.
Sofia was very quick in responding, either through emails before the stay and during the stay with texting/calls. That's definitely good because you never know what happens and it's nice to know they will answer if you have any questions/inquiries.
We spent awhile looking for the door key when we first arrived ( she said she'll leave the key for us somewhere since we were arriving late at night). After 15 minutes of looking, I texted her and that's when I found out she had changed plans and didn't leave the key because she was actually at the apartment. We also had a bit of trouble with the keys because she gave us the wrong keys but that was fixed pretty quickly.
The apartment is conveniently located, our room was clean and very well decorated. We didn't use the kitchen since our stay was very short. The bathroom was basic.
Sofia's place is in an amazing position. For us was very easy to move to all relevant areas and enjoy Kensington's atmosphere. Our room was large and comfortable, and the place just below the stairs is very cool if you want to have a beer or meet extravagant people.
