My husband and I had a great time staying with Hakan for two days. The accommodations are basic, but comfortable. We had complete privacy, but Hakan was always there if we had any questions. The place is very conveniently located, steps away from the train station and a very short walk from the bus station, which takes you to Ephesus in 10 minutes. It could be a little loud at night with street noise, and the local mosque might wake you up early, but that is happening everywhere in Turkey. Hakan was an excellent host, even preparing our breakfast after getting home from work late at night. We also loved meeting his two lovely cats and their new family of kittens. We recommend staying here.
My girlfriend and I went to Selcuk for the Ephesus. This was our first time staying with a host family and we hope that other host will be kind to us like Hakan did. After he picked us up at the station, he spent some time to give us some recommendations in Selcuk. The room he provided was clean and tidy as shown in pictures. Overall, I would highly recommend this place.
The location of the apartment was very convenient because it is literally right next door to the train station, which made it really easy to get to the Izmir airport and when we did a day trip to Pamukkale. The apartment was clean and spacious. Hakan was a nice host who helped answer our many questions. It was raining the 2 days that we were in Selcuk, which made the apartment and my clothes that I left out in the room feel damp, but that is just unfortunate weather.
Hakan is such a wonderful host! He met me and my friend at the train station, and walked us to his apartment. The place is located in a prime spot, a few minutes walk from the museum, basilica and the castle, and about a 30-40 minute walk from Ephesus. Hakan gave us his recommendations for food and sites to see, and the best way to get to them. And the best part of all, Hakan arranged a lovely breakfast for us both mornings! Highly recommended :)
We had a wonderful experience with Hakan! He was such a wonderful host and even helped us plan our travels while in the area. He provided us with breakfast and even invited us to his friend's photography exhibition! His apartment is incredibly convenient since it is located in train station square. We were able to catch a train from the airport in Izmir right to his front door... All for under $10!
We enjoyed every moment that we spent with Hakan, he truly is an incredible host. Selcuk has our hearts. We would go back and visit again in a heartbeat! I suggest everyone to go and stay with Hakan!
It was a great opportunity to stay at Hakan's place. Hakan was very kind, and the place was neat and cozy. and the cats were so adorable. thanks Hakan. hope to see you again :)
