Fully modernized, authentic Old World apartment located in the historic center of Cefalù, (also written Cefalu') just steps from the Piazza Duomo and less than a block from the sea.
Two bedrooms feature a double bed in each; the third, smallest bedroom has a single bed and desk. Besides the three private bedrooms, the apartment also includes 2 bathrooms (a shower in each), a living room, modern kitchen, and a gracious vestibule making this your stylish home-away-from-home in Sicily. A dozen hand-hewn steps take you from the picturesque shared courtyard on via Mandralisca to this first floor block of permanent residences. Traditional furnishings, t.v., tourist information, fresh linens and towels, and complimentary drinking water offer the comforts of a B&B with the freedom to dine-in on the local produce, wines, and cheeses. After a day on the beach or in the hubub of the streets, this apartment, unlike those along the seafront, is a haven from street noise and traffic despite its central location. As we have not allowed anyone to smoke in the apt. at any time since we moved in it is also completely smoke-free, a rarity in hotels and B&Bs in Sicily.
Because all of the charms of Cefalu’ and the surrounding area can be reached on foot (departures by train, bicycle, and buses begin nearby, too) it is not necessary to have a car. If you do, parking areas dot the seafront (5-15 minute walk to the west) and the new marina (15-20 minute walk to the east). A detailed, insider's guide to parking in Cefalu' is provided at check-in.
Nightly rate shown is for 2 guests (+one child aged 3 or under free) and may be higher in high season and lower in other months. A portable crib is available on request.
When inquiring about a stay, please be sure to include some information about yourself and your party so we can determine if the location and amenities at via Mandralisca are a good fit for you. Interaction with Guests
We typically interact with guests before and after their stay by email only because we are not full-time residents in Cefalu'. Guests have complete privacy and autonomy once they have meet our local agent for check-in. Unless they have reason to ask for his assistance during the stay, guests will not see him again until the morning of check-out.
Other Things to Note
The house manual is in the apt. (hard copy); the cleaning crew usually puts it in the drawer of the small shelf next to the sofa.
Positively no smoking inside the apartment or in the courtyard. To help our guests avoid temptation, there is a 300 euro cleaning fee due at check out if we find evidence of smoking in the apt. (This has never happened yet and this rule is intended to maintain a smoke-free refuge for all of our guests, all the time.) As this apartment is in a block of private residences, we ask that our guests maintain a level of peace and quiet that matches the setting--happy but not rowdy! That is, no parties or overnight guests allowed. Other house rules regarding common sense safety are explained in the house manual provided upon arrival.
While we didn't meet Nancy, her place was an absolute dream for our weekend in Cefalu. Right in the center of the old part of the city, it was steps from the Duomo and the beach. The place itself was big, spacious and impeccably clean. Nancy was also great to work with beforehand. She sent us recommendations of what to do, where to eat and everything in between. Would recommend both Cefalu and Nancy's place for any vacation!
The apartment was everything and more than advertised. I cannot think of a better place to stay while in Cefalu (and we strongly recommend everyone spend time in this beautiful town). Communicaton with Nancy was painless and very informative. She provided a wealth of information on the area from shopping tips to dining to day trips. While we only stayed four days, this is an apartment you could comfortably spend months. Strongly recommend Cefalu and this apartment.
The hair dryer did not work but after we communicated with Nancy's in town contact, we had a new hair dryer within 2 hours. Great reponse to this ONLY minor hiccup of our visit.
If Nancy will have us, we will be back!
Thanks Rich, we're very happy to hear you enjoyed your stay and we'd be delighted to have you back. We also appreciate the helpful comments in your private feedback concerning construction noises in a neighboring apt. One of the downsides about daily life in a real Italian home is that the people living around you carry on with their business, including building repairs, and that becomes part of the experience. Your willingness to go with the flow and work with our agent to problem-solve is much appreciated-- as you say there is only so much we can control. We believe the construction is done and we'll alert our agent to keep us as up-to-date on developments as he can. If you decide to stay with us again we'll make you a special offer as a thank you for your resourcefulness.
We all enjoyed our stay at Nancy's very much! Her contact person was very punctual and helpful. The apartment was clean and spacious - enough room for 4 adults to be very comfortable. And the location was great - close to all the shops and sites so we really felt like we were part of the community. Nancy's extra information about the area and logistics were invaluable. The kitchen was well equipped and everything worked!
Thank you Nancy for sharing this special place! Cefalu is a very lovely resort town with charming people, excellent food and a fantastic beach.
Nancy was an excellent communicator - great response time to emails and full of helpful information about Cefalu. Nancy's information really got us off to a good start in this wonderful community.
Sig. Calio met us at the entrance to the apartment and walked us through the use of the appliances. He made sure we knew where all the contact telephone numbers were located before he left us to enjoy our vacation.
The apartment was very comfortable for the four of us. My mother and son had their own bedrooms and bathroom upstairs, and my husband and I had a bedroom and bathroom downstairs.
The apartment is in a perfect location for walking around Cefalu as well as was very quiet - there were no cars on our street and the apartment is located at the back of the courtyard.
We really appreciated Nancy's no smoking policy in the apartment.
Nancy was very helpful. She sent us a useful document which listed everything we needed to know about whilst in Cefalu. We settled in straight away. Cefalu is such a lovely place. So many nice restaurants and a lovely sandy beach. No need to move far to enjoy ourselves.
Nancy's apartment is a great place to stay at. It has a very good location just a few steps from the beach, restaurants, main dom, grocery store etc. The apartment is clean and big enough for 4-5 people. Authentic italian style :) Would recommend this place!
Super spot, super well organised and super flexible. Thanks for a great stay!
My husband, Tony, is a native of Sicily and spent his childhood summers in the vicinity of Cefalù. We now spend weeks or months each year living near Cefalù. In the U.S., we travel often, preferring Airbnb accommodations to cookie-cutter hotels. Being guests at Airbnb rentals helps us become better and better hosts. This is reflected in reviews of our place in Cefalu'--please read them to learn more about us as hosts!
