Steps from the Duomo and the Beach

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Via Mandralisca, Cefalù, Sicily 90015, Italy

Fully modernized, authentic Old World apartment located in the historic center of Cefalù, (also written Cefalu') just steps from the Piazza Duomo and less than a block from the sea.

The Space

Fully modernized, this authentic Old World apartment is located in the historic center of Cefalu' just steps from the Piazza Duomo and less than a block from the sea. Two bedrooms feature a double bed in each; the third, smallest bedroom has a single bed and desk. Besides the three private bedrooms, the apartment also includes 2 bathrooms (a shower in each), a living room, modern kitchen, and a gracious vestibule making this your stylish home-away-from-home in Sicily. A dozen hand-hewn steps take you from the picturesque shared courtyard on via Mandralisca to this first floor block of permanent residences. Traditional furnishings, t.v., tourist information, fresh linens and towels, and complimentary drinking water offer the comforts of a B&B with the freedom to dine-in on the local produce, wines, and cheeses. After a day on the beach or in the hubub of the streets, this apartment, unlike those along the seafront, is a haven from street noise and traffic despite its central location. As we have not allowed anyone to smoke in the apt. at any time since we moved in it is also completely smoke-free, a rarity in hotels and B&Bs in Sicily.

Because all of the charms of Cefalu’ and the surrounding area can be reached on foot (departures by train, bicycle, and buses begin nearby, too) it is not necessary to have a car. If you do, parking areas dot the seafront (5-15 minute walk to the west) and the new marina (15-20 minute walk to the east). A detailed, insider's guide to parking in Cefalu' is provided at check-in.

Nightly rate shown is for 2 guests (+one child aged 3 or under free) and may be higher in high season and lower in other months. A portable crib is available on request.

When inquiring about a stay, please be sure to include some information about yourself and your party so we can determine if the location and amenities at via Mandralisca are a good fit for you. Check In
  • I had a great stay at Nancy's. I had no problems checking in, even with a later than planned arrival. The apartment was clean and comfortable to stay in. The location is ideal to the center of the city. You could hear some noise from the street in the living room at night, but the bedroom on the first floor was very quiet. Cefalu is a wonderful town, and this apartment helped me experience it a lot better than staying in a hotel.
Nancy was very responsive to my emails and provided a lot of information for my stay. She was great to work with.
One small note for American travelers, the washer is smaller than a standard American one. Expect to do 1/2 of a load than you would expect at home.

    Response from Nancy:

Good tip Jeff. The washing machine is brand new so it is typical of current models in use in Italy. The space in the apt. for drying clothes (a line in the bathroom and a free-standing laundry rack) accommodate one load. Together they are suited for those who are travelling light. Please note that we do not expect our guests to wash their own bed linens or towels--these are sent out to a professional laundry after each stay. If you'd like laundry service during your stay, please contact our local agent for assistance. It is inexpensive but takes a a day or two depending on the amount.

  • We had an amazing stay at Nancy's apartment, it is very clean and provides quality accommodation. The apartment is very well located, we could have stayed here for weeks. Thanks nancy!!

  • We had a fantastic stay in Nancy's apartment. Everything was wonderfully clean, the apartment was very easy to find and in a fabulous location.
Cefalu was definitely the highlight of our stay in Sicily. Thanks very much for having us Nancy. I would love to come back and stay in your apartment again.

  • Nancy's apartment is ideal for a perfect holiday in Cefalu. It is located in the centre of the historic town, close to the beach, shops and restaurants. We found the apartment comfortable and spotlessly clean; the kitchen was well equipped and ideal for experimenting with wonderful local meat, fish, cheese etc. As we were travelling light, the laundry facilities were particularly helpful. The local agent was on hand when we arrived and was available when we needed to sort out some minor issues. We would recommend this apartment to anyone and we plan to come back and carry on exploring this beautiful region.

  • We had a very nice stay in this fantastic apartment in the ancient area of Cefalu. Very charming surroundings and such a nice place to stay for two weeks. We were one adult and two teenagers - 14 and 16 years of age - and we had a bedroom each which was very comfortable. There is a good kitchen to prepare meals and otherwise a lot of fine restaurants as soon as you leave the apt. The WIFI in the apt. was very fast and appreciated.

We arrived in Palermo Airport and took the airport bus to Palermo Central Station and then a train to Cefalu. It was easy and not connected with any problems at all.

All correspondence before arrival went very smooth and Nancy answered straight away. Before arrival we received some very useful information from Nancy regarding places to eat, places to go and places to shop. We would certainly come back anytime to the wonderful (website hidden). We went to the top of La Rocca and had the most fantastic view. GO THERE! It is not as hard as it looks :) And go to Etna and take the cable cars and the jeeps to the top. It was such a great way to spend a day and a fantastic experience.

  • We had a perfect holiday in Nancys appartment. The contact to Nancy was quick, easy and flexible. When we arrived we made a call to the lokal contact, he was at the appartment 5 minutes later and gave us a nice intro to the appartment. Lokation was importent for us, here we got it all. Very close to the wonderful beach and a lot of restaurants with excellent food and wine. We really enjoyed our stay and we sure come back some day.

  • Another great stay in this great apartment in Cefalu

    July 2013
  • My partner and I had such a good time during our stay at Nancy's apartment.

It is perfectly located - very close to everything Cefalu has to offer. I thought this part of our holiday would be quite lazy, but there was so much to do and see in this beautiful area.

We had the pleasure of meeting Nancy and Tony during our stay, who are both wonderful people. Their local agent, Mr. Calio was very charming, meeting us near the apartment and giving us a good run down of the place. He also had very helpful information about the train timetables, which really came in handy when it was time to leave.

The apartment itself is quite large with 3 proper bedrooms and is situated in a cute courtyard that is frequently photographed by tourists. We were really comfortable here and had everything we needed.

The kitchen is great, I really enjoyed cooking there and it was nice to feel like a local during our stay, rather than being in a hotel.

    Favourite things to do:
    - Hire a scooter and go into La Madonie national park to explore.
    - Climb La Rocca to see an endless view of the Med
    - Buy a fish that is so fresh it still has seaweed on it in the morning and cook it up for dinner or lunch.
    - Sit in the Duomo piazza all morning eating bombolones and drinking espresso, then have a gelati on the 45 second walk home.
    - Hang out on the beach with Italian families.

    Highly recommended.

  • very good location. Parking far from apartment, but reasonable given the density of the town. The apartment was perfect for two but the upstairs bedroom had beds too small for two adults. The two single beds okay for kids or teenagers. Kitchen needs some additional utensils, coffee machine, and better pots and pans. The two bathrooms and laundry were very good. I would certainly stay again. Great town, great beaches, location to other parts of Sicily by car is great. Enjoyed our stay here.

    Response from Nancy:

We're glad to hear you enjoyed your stay and thanks for your suggestions. The single beds are standard size in Italian homes, much narrower than those in the U.S. We will be adding a second double bed to the apt. soon so that it serves two couples better. There is an Italian stovetop coffee maker in the kitchen but we think a kettle and a french press might be a nice addition to the kitchen facilities too. We're always interested in ways to make our guests' stay comfortable and homey.

  • My husband and I and our 2-year old had the perfect vacation in Cefalu. Nancy and Tony's apartment is very sweet, and had all the amenities we needed (we could even use the wifi at their nephew's bar one street over). The apartment is right in the city center, which is perfect with a toddler (and no car). We were easily able to take walks, go to the beach, visit the sites, and come back to the apartment when needed. Nancy and Tony were gracious hosts, and left recommendations for shopping and eating in the city, and helped us with travel questions. The apartment itself was lovely and comfortable, and we felt right at home. We loved our trip so much that we would definitely return to Cefalu - and if/when we do, we'd definitely stay at Nancy and Tony's again. Thank you!
