Oneonta is a friendly and safe upstate community, also known as 'The City of the Hills'. Oneonta is nestled in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains along the banks of the Susquehanna River. Binghamton and Albany are easy accessible through I88. Our street is a quiet and located in a spacious neighborhood with Wilbur park (with free public swimming pool and tennis courts) on a stone throw distance. Beautiful and historic Main Street in Oneonta offers a variety of stores selling everything from books to guitar pedals to handmade local crafts. Main Street is a 10 minutes walk from our home. The shopping mall is a 5 minute ride by car. Oneonta has an abundance of great places to eat dinner, lunch or have a coffee/ tea break. The city offers a variety of parks and a great selection of recreational facilities, sport facilities and bars with live music.
There is a good local bus service in town and regular service to Cooperstown. Adirondack Trailways offers daily trips to Albany, Binghamton and NY city as well on a 15 minute walking distance. Please let us know if you need a pick up or a ride during your stay.
Other Things to Note
Last year we have donated all our Airbnb earnings to UNICEF and ran the NYC Marathon for the UNICEF team. For this year we will stay committed to donate at least 10% of all proceeds to charity. Indirectly you'll support this cause by staying with us in Oneonta!
We'd like to stick to a no pets and no smoking inside the house policy. Other than that, we don't have rules, just make yourself at home!
Ingrid and Henryk communicated with me extensively prior to my arrival and provided me with clear instructions regarding access. The room was delightful, with lots of light and privacy. I enjoyed Henryk's bread very much. I was sorry not to meet Ingrid this time, but enjoyed visiting with Henryk. I hope to stay there again on my next trip to Oneonta in the fall!
Henryk and Ingrid were wonderful. They made my first stay at a airbnb comfortable and welcoming. They were in contact with me before I arrived and did all they could to make my stay enjoyable.
Our experience was lovely. Easy, clean, exactly as advertised. Very nice couple with hospitality in spades.
The reservation was canceled 65 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Henryk and Ingrid were so welcoming and accommodating. We enjoyed breakfast with them our first morning there. The homemade bread was delicious! My boyfriend is still talking about it. The room was great and the town of Oneonta is lovely (and within walking distance). We were so grateful to find a place like this. We will definitely be back and we'd love to stay here again!
My boyfriend and I stayed for a night at Henryk and Ingrid's during our trip to Cooperstown. We were so lucky to have found this listing! The price is very reasonable, and you get a huge and absolutely gorgeous guestroom to stay in. You get a lot of natural light during the day and you get to monitor your own heat, which is great for the winter. The bed was comfortable and there were a lot of amenities provided. Everything was exactly as pictured!
Ingrid was a great host! She's nice and attentive to our needs even before we got there. If we ever visit the area again, we definitely plan on returning here.
My stay was fantastic! Lets see where to start. I was traveling through the area for work. I spent less then 12 hours there but it was more than enough time to decide that I would love to stay here again! My room was very clean and very conformable! The house was also easy to find! H & I also left breakfast items out for me which was delightful! I will love to stay again in the summer to take advantage of the deck and hammock!
We are a Dutch couple living in the USA. In 2012 we moved from the beautiful Dutch city of Groningen in the Netherlands to the town of hills 'Oneonta' (upstate NY). Airbnb is a great way for us to explore all the beauty that the US has to offer. We travel a lot and love to experience life to the maximum! We like meeting new people and the concept of Airbnb. We'll both run the NY Marathon this year in support of Unicef. 50% of the earning we generate through Airbnb will be donated to UNICEF. Together with our guests we would like to contribute to their main goal: ZERO preventable child deaths in the world!.
