After some slight miscommunication regarding check in location, we were so happy to sit down in Fran and Jim's house after a long day of travel. The furnishings are high quality, the beds arevextremely comfortable and the view from the living room overlooking the woods was so peaceful! The house is well situated to both lakes, the convenience store and the ferry. It's a nice home on a quiet island.
We spent four wonderful nights in Fran's beautiful home on Anderson Island. Fran was great to work with and the home was clean and in great condition! The surroundings were so peaceful that it made our stay a very enjoyable experience. We set up bad mitten in the back yard, went on walks and bike rides, and sat on the deck to enjoy nature. We would stay there again and recommend it to others looking for a great getaway!
Expect to be impressed! We were amazed at the quality and cleanliness of the Anderson island home. Super comfortable beds. Quality linens, and a gourmet kitchen. We loved cooking on the grill out on the deck. When we got home, we immediately bought The same grill for ourselves.
This was our first time renting a home instead of staying in a hotel. We will definitely be renting a home from now on!
We have a great time in Fran and James's house. The house is so beautiful and relaxing. Very quiet and nice neighborhood. It is around 5 min by bike to general store which you would buy most of food there. We love to go to old swimming hole. It is around 10-15min by bike. It is beautiful and safe for my 20 months old toddler. Thanks again for having us for a week. We enjoyed it.
The only problem we had with this beautiful getaway location was that we did not want to leave. The house is wonderfully kept up and the island is welcoming. We will definitely be retuning as soon as possible.
About the Host, Fran
I am a retired secondary and college teacher that has enjoyed venturing into other occupational fields: real estate professional, local elected councilwoman, and now writing, gardening and quilting. My fun activities are reading, entertaining, hiking, traveling, watching the hummingbirds at my feeders, golfing and flying my own airplane, a Beech Sundowner. My health activities are walking and jogging, going to the gym, yoga and gardening.
I believe in taking advantage of meeting many interesting people, learning about the world by traveling, enjoying the world around me, and making everyday be a positive impact on my life. My list of to-do's is always far longer than I will every accomplish but I love trying so many new things. My days are not long enough nor will my life, on this earth, ever be long enough to accomplish everything I want to try or do. Life is so full of wonders.
My life would not be as full if it were not for being married to a wonderful man named Jim, who shares many of my same interests. We have been married for 34 years and have built a life full of many memories of all our conversations and activities. Jim has been an Air Force officer, rocket scientist and defense engineer. We both love to spend time in our Island home to relax and remove ourselves from the faster life on the mainland. We support each other and work and play together. Our children and grandchildren do not live on the west coast of the country so therefore some of our travel is to see family.
Jim has lived in Japan while in the Air Force, I lived in Germany while my spouse was in the Army so therefore that set the pattern for traveling to other lands. We have daughter Monica with six grandchildren living permanently on the west coast of France, daughter Cindy living in Ithica, NY and daughter Joy living in Abu Dhabi. Some of our trips have also included; Turkey, Greece, most of Europe, including Norway, Sweden and Denmark and the British Isles plus Ireland, Mexico, Canada, Panama and will travel to Indonesia and Bali in July of this year. I still want to spend more time in South America and Antarctica.
We would love to share our little bit of Island living with you. Come stay awhile.
