Josef and his bnb provided us with our best experience by far on our road trip around Ireland. Moreover, it was a perfect place to stay before heading out to the cliffs of moher.
The farmhouse cabin is one of the cutest things I have ever seen, he even had the fire going for us so it would be warm and cosy when we arrived. Josef showed my husband around the farm and his lovely dog tony soprano followed us around ☺️
We ended the evening sharing stories around tea and cake that his wife made. His full Irish breakfast spread is incredible and he clearly goes above and beyond what is expected of an airbnb host.
It was such a wonderful experience and if my husband and I are ever back in Ireland, we would definitely stay on Josef's farm again.
Josef met us upon arrival and was very kind and welcoming. He showed us the farmhouse which is absolutely adorable. Lots of window light, comfortable beds and even our own fireplace heater. There were fresh flowers in vases all around the house and the cabin and there were fresh towels laid out for us. Josef's wife Helga let us know if there was anything we needed just to ask. We were treated to a short tour of the property which included cows, chickens and a huge array of organic fruits and vegetables, not to mention an incredible view of rolling green hills. A traditional Irish breakfast was included each morning and was one of the highlights of our stay, with farm fresh eggs, homemade organic jams and anything else we could ask for. There was also a sauna available for use on the property, free wifi from the main house and a hot shower and clean bathrooms. Josef and Helga really go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and have everything you need. We enjoyed our conversations and time on the farm and it was well worth the drive from Galway. They were also very helpful giving us recommendations of what to see in Galway and how to get there. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting a relaxing home away from home with a farm vibe. We hope to return here ourselves soon.
Josef and Helga were wonderful hosts for us in March. We rented the cabin in their backyard. The room has anything you may need including a microwave, running water and a hot plate. You may start a wood fire if you want to heat the cabin. We really enjoyed this. Helga prepares a wonderful Irish breakfast. It was our first time trying the Irish black pudding. We enjoyed sharing stories with Josef and Helga over a glass of red wide. They are very nice people and we had a marvelous time there. All the best for them and their children!
I received a warm welcome upon arrival on a very stormy night. The cabin is exactly as described. If you are looking for peace, quiet, great conversation and a wonderful organic breakfast then this is the place!
Ideal for people that like to read, write, listen to music etc... It was so nice to wake to a chorus of birds, then have the best breakfast I've ever had in a B&B/hotel followed by a tour of the organic farm by Josef (really recommend highly!)
Thank you Josef and Helga. You are very special people. I will be back :)
We rather fell in love with Josef and Helga, and their world. They are interesting and honest, thoughtful and lovely people. Their place is wonderful. When we arrived we were exhausted, and had planned to slip away to bed early, but instead we drank wine and discussed everything from how to live a good life to how to solve the crisis in the EU. We reckon you're very lucky to hang out with them.
Helga and Josef were wonderful hosts. So generous! They respected my privacy but the offer was there every night to join them for wine or tea for a chat. The breakfasts were delicious and more than generous. The cabin was really clean, cosy and comfortable! The farm is the perfect place to hideaway and relax for a few days! i'd highly recommend this place!!
Such a wonderful peaceful tranquil place to stay. I was in the cabin and it was a great space - the wood burning stove makes for a great warmth all through the day, the kitchenette was very useful and the surroundings were just perfect. Brilliantly welcoming hosts and a fabulous breakfast every morning. Would absolutely recommend this place and plan to return soon.

About the Host, Josef
25 years ago my wife and myself emigrated from Switzerland to Ireland. At present I'm looking after a small organic farm with 2 suckler cows with calves and some hens and turkeys. We also have an extensive garden with a wide variety of vegetables and fruits.
When our two children decided to leave the nest, we thought we like to share our house with other people who are interested in nature, peace, quietness and really good food. We're always interested to learn to know new people, their thoughts, ideas and dreams.
