Interaction with Guests
Colin and Linda will greet you on arrival and show you to your cabana. You will be shown a map of the island and the lay of the land. In the event that Colin + Linda are away in Canada; Juan our manager and his wife Emilita will be your hosts. A staff member is always on-site to answer your questions or concerns.
Colinda Cabanas is located in a quiet serene area of the island. The edge of town is a short 5 minute stroll down the beach. Many guests take tours off-site and go snorkeling, fishing or kayaking. However many guests just love to hang out on our pier, read a good book, go swimming and enjoy the ambiance.
We are located about a 5 minute walk from the nearest store or restaurant. Or 2 minutes by bicycle.
Our exact location on Caye Caulker is as follows:
From the 2 water taxi piers located on the front of the island ; step off the end of the pier, take a left and walk 10 minutes South along the beach. We are just past the Anchorage Resort.
From the airport : Walk 400 feet to the beach. Turn left and walk North along the beach for 3 minutes.
From the back (water jets) pier walk 50 yards to middle street, turn right and walk 10 minutes along middle street.
Middle street dead-ends at our property.
If you arrive tired or with a pile of luggage; taxis charge U.S. $2.50 per person and only take a few minutes to get to our place.
Other Things to Note
Regional Disclaimer: The island of Caye Caulker is in the coastal Caribbean / tropical region of Belize. While this provides incredible beauty and natural wonders from sky to sea, it also means that, heat, humidity, sudden tropical squalls and power outages are common occurrences.
Living on a beach surrounded by jungle also means an abundance of Geckos, Iguanas, ants, and land crabs.
Occasionally sand flies and mosquitoes can also be problematic.
That said, we do everything we can to ensure your stay is comfortable and pleasant.....
Welcome to Colinda Cabanas !

To avoid bugs - keep food items tightly sealed in bags and containers and remove garbage from your room at night.

Please do not bring island dogs back to the property.
No Unregistered guests allowed anywhere on the property.

$150.00 lost bike charge.
Many people stay at Colindas because of the quiet location; therfore we require quiet at Midnight - If you like to socialize after 12:00 do it elsewhere.

Thank you for being our guests
Lovely location, I stayed in #7. Being higher up there was a consistent breeze all night and no need to use the fans at night. The cabana provided a real sense of staying on an island. Free bikes & kayaks were great perks. The bikes really came in handy!!! Stayed here 2 nights. 1st evening there were some ants, but only in bathroom & weren't a problem. Hosts were readily available in office for any questions. LOVED my stay here, would recommend to friends & family. Porch and private pier were great to enjoy coffee in the AM and drinks in the evening. Hope to return someday!
The Colinda Cabanas are amazing! My boyfriend and I spent 3 nights in Cabana #7 and it exceeded all of our expectations. The rooms were as pictured online and the location is quiet and conveniently located. We enjoyed riding the bikes around the island and relaxing on the dock. Overall, a great stay and we would be happy to visit again in the future.
The most welcoming and accomodating hosts I have had the pleasure of staying with. My girlfriend and I spent four nights with Colinda Cabanas and have nothing but glowing praise for this host. We decided to stay an extra night and our request was seamlessly accomodated on very short notice, allowing us to store our bags and refrigerated goods in their personal home, and then moving all of our belongings to our room before we returned from our snorkeling tour. The Cabanas provided a wonderfully private and relaxing base to return to after our daily Caye Caulker adventures and Colin and Linda were always making sure that we had everything that we needed, truly going above and beyond.
We really enjoyed our stay at Colinda. Juan greeted us when we arrived and gave us several recommendations for various services and features on the island. During our stay he was always available to chat, answer our questions, and generally make sure we were enjoying our time.
The cabana itself was a nice home base. During that first hot day we worried that the two fans wouldn't cool it down enough for us to sleep, but they did and we slept comfortably. The property itself is peaceful and quiet. One night a visiting church group at the property next door was up late shouting praise and we really appreciated the noise curfew at Colinda. We made good use of the kitchenette and the lovely porch, watching the iguanas go back & forth every morning. We also appreciated being able to use the private dock, the snorkeling masks, the beach towels, and the bikes that were available to guests. Basically, Colinda provided everything we needed for a worry-free vacation. We loved it!
Great stay, my only regret is that I didn't stay here for longer. The cabanas are just perfect and really let you feel like you're on vacation, on a beach, in Belize. Our room was clean, met our expectations and I had no problems checking in or out. Linda was also very responsive to my messages up until my arrival on Caulker which was very helpful.
We had an amazing stay in Caye Caulker at Colinda Cabanas - #7 was cosy and had everything we needed, and Linda & Colin were very helpful with recommendations for the island. The private pier and hammocks over the water were also perfect for relaxing in the afternoons - would recommend Colinda to anybody!

About the Host, Colinda
We (Colin and Linda) are from the Okanagan/Shuswap areas of British Columbia, Canada. We now call Lillooet B.C. and Caye Caulker, Belize our home. We were looking for a life-style change (needed paying jobs) and purchased this small beachfront resort in late January 2011. We spent the last year fixing it up and are now starting to enjoy Island living.
We welcome your visit to our little spot in paradise.
