Quaint, rustic and charming country home in a peaceful natural setting, on one acre surrounded by trees and a stream and protected wetlands out back. Wonderful for nature lovers, just cross the fallen log in the backyard and follow trails that lead to an open fern gully field or sit outside and enjoy the various birds and wildlife.
Ideally located 5 min from route 66 (Westhampton Road) the house is five miles from Smith College and all of the shops, restaurants and cultural activities of Main Street, Northampton, and four miles from downtown Easthampton, The Williston Northampton School, Mt. Tom and the Eastworks building. Though close to services and amenities, our neighbors across the road, vegetable farmers, give the area a distinctly rural feel to it.
The property consists of a two bedroom, one bath main house as well as a loft-studio-in law suite addition (available for rent separately for those needing additional space). Lots of natural light streaming in and artisan details throughout. Simply furnished, the two bedrooms in the main house feature queen sized beds, the great/living room has a double/full size futon (typically left open as a daybed for lounging, but can easily be closed as a sofa) as well as a sofa bed that opens to double/full size bed. There is also a sofa bed in the laundry room that converts to a twin size bed accommodating up to a total nine guests.
The great/living room features four seating areas and lots of windows as well as two ceiling fans (there are also ceiling fans in each bedroom) which, with the open floor plan keeps the house amazingly comfortable during the summer months. The dining area seats six and the kitchen is large and fully equipped for preparing all meals at home. There is also a screened in porch as well as a sun room, which are great ways to enjoy the scenery while remaining indoors. There is wireless internet available throughout the house and a large flat screen tv with roku internet tv (with dozens of channels and hundreds of free tv shows, documentaries and movies) in the living room.
The studio in-law addition is a large open loft space that has its own entrance (a central door that locks on both sides separates the units) and features a double/full size bed, above a small kichen/bath combo area. The studio can be rented as an addition to the main house at a daily rate of $125.

Erica's peaceful country home is exactly as described and then some....it has features and a feel that can only be experienced. My family and I have never been so comfortable traveling! We spent evenings in the cozy, warm cabin watching old movies and playing board games. The location had easy access to surrounding cities and villages without being right in the middle of everything - privacy and convenience in one. We would love to come back and stay during the summer!
Erica's property is a large, well-appointed home and quite comfortable. The only disadvantage is the single bathroom/toilet.
The setting was beautiful and the amenities and layout where nice for a group or family. We enjoyed sitting outside in the lawn and were very comfortable inside. It was close to lots of great stuff to visit and explore. Erica was great to work with. I do have to say the bedrooms have very little noise barriers as they are super rustic in their construction. So you hear everything in the other rooms, not great for a party with a snorer.
This house was awesome! Clean, quiet, comfortable for the 6 of us sleeping there. Erica was super responsive and helpful for all of my questions and very friendly! We're already planning the next trip out to this wonderful place!
We had a very nice weekend at Erica's lovely home in Northampton. There was plenty of room for eight of us in two families (two good-sized bedrooms and a laundry room with a bed, plus futons in the main living room). We made all our meals in the well-equipped kitchen and ate at a large wooden table. The house has a country-feel to it and is a short walk to several farm stands where we bought fresh vegetables. Our kids loved the huge yard, which has lots of trees but also open play space. We would definitely stay here again as it's close to downtown Northampton, Amherst, Springfield, etc.
Erica was a great host. Her house was clean, well supplied with bedding, very comfortable and rustic in feel. We had a pretty full schedule, so we did not have the opportunity enjoy the grounds and the house tho' everything was inviting. The house itself is interesting with brick and plank flooring and what seem to be millstones embedded in the floors. I would recommend peaceful country home for a relaxing getaway from urban stresses for families or friends.
We had a wonderful one month stay at Erica's house. The location was perfect - very quiet but close by Easthampton, Northampton and Florence. I would definitely recommend Erica's place.
Erica's house was beautiful and very spacious. There was plenty of room and lots of comfortable places to sleep. She was very communicative and helpful in planning our stay. I would highly recommend staying in her house.
Great house -- I highly recommend it to anyone in the area. Really beautiful, clean, spacious and restful. The host was very easy to communicate with and left detailed instructions. No problems at all.
My husband and I had a very relaxing stay at Erica's house. Erica was responsive via email and phone. The space is warm, open, and inviting, and it was the perfect place to relax and unwind. Also, the kitchen was well-stocked with enough dishes and cookware for us to prepare meals easily. We really appreciated our stay. It was our first time booking through airbnb, and Erica made it an easy experience.
