You'd never know this lovely apartment used to be a garage. It's beautiful, has the amenities needed, the space desired, bed was comfortable, its quiet and set apart yet easy access to Westport and Newport. Love the towel warmer in the bathroom, bring some slippers to keep your feet warm or that could just be me.

Response from Máiréad & Brian:
Hi Linda- Ann thanks for your nice review . The garage is no more and was demolished . The cottage is a new build timber frame contemporary building ! And we're sorry you didn't spot the leopard print cosy slippers stored in the hanging section of the rail , and always freshly laundered after each use

We loved our short stay in Brian & Máiréad's cottage in Westport. Their son, Simon, very graciously met us, helped us check in and told us about live music that was scheduled for that evening at the Sheebeen right down the road. We enjoyed the music that night and dinner there the following night. We were also very grateful for the welcome pack waiting for us at the cottage which included eggs, milk, scones and jam - it was a perfect breakfast to start our day. We had some great nights sleep in the firm bed and enjoyed the spa-like bathroom with rain shower. The place was wonderfully situated on Clew Bay, making for perfect sunset photo opportunities. I would not hesitate to stay here again if we are back in the area!

Our stay at the Garden Cottage was lovely! The accommodations were clean and equipped with anything you could possibly need, making for a cozy stay. The three days were full of activity and we were able to walk to nice places for dinner and evening fun. The location of the Garden Cottage was the perfect balance of being secluded and close to the activity. The garden and views were lovely! Mairead was a kind and gracious host. She provided us with a wonderful starter kit of fresh fruit, eggs, milk, butter, and scones. Mairead was a wealth of knowledge of the area, as well as Ireland and she helped us make the most of our trip around Ireland. The Garden Cottage was definitely one of our favorite places that we stayed at during our three week stay.

Super clean and a quick trip to jaw-dropping Connemara! We took leisurely walks to Cronin's Shebeen during the evenings and cooked up rashers and eggs every morning in the small but very workable kitchen. A truly easy place to stay with helpful hosts. Let's just say we needed a handyman one morning and our hosts had him scheduled for us the very same day!

We just returned from a fantastic week stay at Brian and Mairead's Garden Cottage. It is hard to describe how warm and welcomed we felt, like being in our own lovely cottage with friends just around the walk. Brian and Mairead welcomed us by leading us in to the cottage grounds, having scones baking in the oven, tea and jam ready after a long drive! Fruit, home baked bread and eggs/milk ready for breakfast. The cottage was even more lovely than the photos depict. It was roomy and beautifully decorated with comfy furniture, a delightful bedroom, dining room/study with books and games, large fully equipped bathroom, small but completely comfortable kitchen. A pellet stove made us warm and toasty in the evenings. Windows and doors from floor to ceiling let in light and looked out at flowers and a little garden to sit in. During the week, Both Brian and Mairead were completely available to help us with sights, drives, directions and anything else we needed with their warmth and charm. We could walk to the Westport Harbor along Clew Bay easily where there are pubs, shops and restaurants and a longer walk or short drive into Westport which is a charming little city. This is truly the perfect place to stay to enjoy Westport and all of the sights of Western Ireland and also to fully relax either in the cottage or in the garden. We feel that our two and a half week stay in Ireland was entirely enriched by the delight of this cottage and these wonderful hosts. We will be back!

This was our first time using Airbnb and based on this experience it definitely won't be the last. We had spent the first 4 nights of our vacation in Ireland at hotels and we quickly grew tired of feeling obligated to get up early for the included breakfast in order to get out monies worth. We wanted something peaceful and relaxing and Brian and Maraid's cottage was exactly what we were seeking. It is perfect for a couple. They live on property so were accessible if needed. They made us feel very welcome. They both gave us a run through of the cottage when we arrived. It is cozy and beautifully decorated. They provided us with some food items to get us started the next morning for breakfast and a lovely salad from their garden. My husband also loved playing outside with their dog Suzie. We highly recommend this property.
