About this listing
We have been taking guests in our own family home for over 20 years. Spacious twin and single rooms are available to rent. Great access to Dublin's delights is available via our 5 bus routes. Its history, culture and pubs are just on your doorstep.
This is a large detached home, situated on a quiet road with no through traffic. And we have THREE rooms available to rent, despite the glitch which only allows us to mention one room in the listing on the right! We love to talk if people want to talk! Over the years we have catered for the Lead Teachers from the People to People Student Ambassador programme in the US. Because we enjoyed this so much we have branched out into the AirBnB scene. Our family have moved out and we have empty rooms now, and so we enjoy the company of guests and visitors.
3 rooms are available, twin and a single rooms ... single occupancy is at €35 per night, with an extra guest at €30 sharing in the twin.
You can book anywhere from one up to six bedspaces from this site, but some people find it easier to book the second pair of rooms separately. See the "Lovely Dublin Home-Part 2" elsewhere on AirBnB. Find it easily by searching for "Ballyroan, Dublin" in the top left hand side of the AirBnB website main page.
Directly nearby is the foothills of the Dublin mountains and the famous Wicklow Way walking route.
Rathfarnham Castle is just down the road ,as well as 5 great local parks including Marlay Park and Bushy Park.
A bus leaves our local bus stops every ten minutes, and provides ready access to the City Centre. The bus is definitely the best way to get around the city. Dedicated bus lanes avoid the daily traffic snarls.
Breakfast will be provided at a time of your choice every day.
The quiet local neighbourhood is a guarantor of a good night's rest.
A good pub ( the Blue Haven) is within 300 meters of the door.
And Trendy pub ( the Rathfarnham Orchard) is 800 meters away!
Loads of buses leave the area for the City Centre!
Our Wi-Fi is super fast , and has no download limits!

Ger and Jean were great. They welcomed us warmly at very short notice. The accommodation is spotless and the beds very comfortable. Ger and Jean went out of their way to access information for us and provide us with help we were after. I would recommend staying with them without hesitation.
Our experience with Ger and Jean could not have been better. The best part was Ger and Jean themselves. Lovely, kind, and warm, they went out of their way to make our stay delightful. We so enjoyed our conversations and our breakfasts together. They provided really useful suggestions for our time in Dublin, as well. The home is very comfortable and immaculate. We would absolutely go back and stay with them again. Thank you for a delightful and memorable experience in Ireland.
We had a lovely stay here. Ger and Jean are very friendly and thoughtful people who are in for a chat. The rooms are very nice and tidy and the beds slept great. I would definitely recommend this place to others!
What a warm welcome! Jean and Ger took the time to comfort me.
Their house is clean and in a quiet environment.
My bed was good.
Al compliments for Jean and Ger. I advice others to book a room in their house.
An unexpected host. From the house to the personality of Ger and Jean, everything was just perfect. Too bad we could not spend more time in wren's nest....
We travel with our three children and it is not easy to find a suitable place, belive me, this is the perfect home and host to visit Dublin with your family.
Corinne et Bruno.
They are magnific hosts. They take a lot of care about you, even if you get lost with a GPS! (as happened to us). They will be waiting for you and helping as much as they can. Even after the trip, they are still helping us and not everybody acts like this way. Ger and Jean are very good person.
Also, they offer you a great breakfast and (if it's possible) a better conversation.
If you are thinking to travel to Dublin, they are a very very interesting option. Don't lose more time cheking other options ;)

About the Host, Ger And Jean
We are a mature couple with four grown-up children.
Ger worked for Guinness Brewery as a Brewer for 30 years, and is now retired from there but consulting in the general beer and spirits arena!
Jean is a retired teacher and a retired Mum ( they've all left! ) and enjoys meeting new people in the comfort of our own home.
We both go hiking on the weekend in the Dublin and Wicklow mountains, and eleswhere when we can.
