Layli’s suite is one of our most-liked rooms at Jazly Bed and Breakfast. It is on the top floor and includes a private bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub, a balcony which overlooks green spaces of Addis Ababa, a sitting area near a large window and a humongous walk-in closet. . It has a dedicated hot water heater, microwave, mini-fridge, coffee/tea service, satellite TV, free wireless Internet, and desk. The room rate includes tax. Two roll-away beds are also available for up to two additional people at a charge of US$15 per night plus tax.
Jazly Bed & Breakfast has five guest rooms. Complementary hot breakfast is served each morning. Jazly is located near Jackros in the Gerji neighborhood of Bole Sub-City in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. We are less than 5 KM from the airport.
During regular hours (from 6:00 AM to midnight) transportation for pickup from the airport is $8 and drop-off is complementary. Late night pick up and drop off (after midnight to 6:00 AM) is $15 each way.
The house is a new construction and sits on the quiet end of a residential neighborhood amid tall trees and singing birds. You will be able to observe a taste of Addis life as the neighbors go about their daily tasks, preparing meals, washing clothes, and tending to their sheep, while laughing children play with their homemade toys.
Jazly Bed & Breakfast is a five minute walk to public transportation and small local shops, and ten minutes to a large supermarket. Our driver, pending availability, will be happy to drive you to the supermarket.
Jazly is an oasis of charm and lovliness in a quiet neighborhood on the edge of the city. My room was spacious and neat, the common areas were warm and comfortable, breakfast was simple and nourishing, and the hospitality of the staff was remarkable. The neighoborhood is pleasant and lends itself well to a walk. Curious children will be eager to befriend you as you walk toward the main road. There are several simple restaurants nearby serving western and traditional food. Angel House was my favorite.
The Jakros neighborhood is quite far from the city. I paid 250 Birr for cab rides to the American Embassy which took 90 minutes in traffic. This will improve as city-wide construction concludes, but budget appropriate time if you're travelling for business. If you're travelling for pleasure, just enjoy the Jazly's quiet respite from frenetic Addis Ababa.
