Apartment - Entire home/apt · Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan

The Space

This is a brand new listing with all new furnishings throughout the entire apartment. I will be updating the pictures as well as adding more details over the next few days. Feel free to email me with any questions you may have. Thanks for looking!

##Amazing Location##
This is a beautiful apartment located a 5 minute walk from Ebisu station. Right next to the Sapporo Ebisu Garden Place which offers many wonderful restaurants and great shopping.

NOTE: We also have a second listing a 30 second walk away. If you have a group of 7 or more we recommend booking both apartments if available.

##Sleeping Arrangements##
This room is prepare using a cleaning company that supplies freshly cleaned linens upon your arrival. We assume that you will be sleeping in pairs. If you require separate sleeping arrangements please let us know so that we can prepare the appropriate number of sheets and towels for you.

2 guests - 2 on king size bed or split beds into 2 singles
3 ~ 4 guests - 1 bed, 1 sofa bed, 1 futon
4 ~ 6 guests - 2 on bed, 2 on sofa bed, 2 on separate futons

The apartment is technically a two bedroom apartment (by Japanese standards), but we often leave the dividing doors open. If you have a group, feel free to close the dividing (sliding) doors for privacy during your stay if you desire. The black and white rug is one room which you walk through to get to the other room with the red rug and bed.

The shower is an older Japanese style shower that requires you to start a pilot light every time. There are step by step instructions on how to do this provided in the apartment.

It is pretty big, but it will be very cozy with a group of 6 guests.

##Amenities Provided##
* Hotel professionally cleaned linens and towels
* Balcony with table and chairs for relaxing
* Free Mobile WIFI
* 32" LED TV
* 2 full closets
* air conditioning
* hair dryer, clothes iron
* fully stocked kitchen with all of the amenities

The apartment is in the swank Ebisu area, with countless eateries, clubs, karaoke, bars, entertainment, and shopping. It is the best of both worlds in the sense that the apartment is at the top of the hill looking down on the hussle and bussle, and being on the top floor you are literally above it all. Take the elevator down, walk 30 seconds and you are in the midst of it yourself as well.

Ebisu Beer Garden is a short walk away, with the famous beer museum. You can sample many different styles of Ebisu beer and try out their restaurant if time permits.

##Apartment Safety##
The apartment has been completely renovated and is in a reinforced concrete building, safe from earthquakes. Japan is extremely safe, so I can nearly guarantee you will experience no problems with safety.

##Getting Around##
-Ebisu 5 min walk to the station for trains or buses. Taxis on every corner near the apartment. (Best shopping, restaurants, clubs, etc.)
-Harajuku 2 min train or 15min walk (A must see for Japanese culture, alternative shopping and people. Next to Yoyogi Park)
-Shinjuku 6 min train (Busiest station in the world)
-Roppongi 10 min train (Night life near Tokyo Tower)
-Ikebukuro 25 min train (Shopping)
-Akihabara 27 min train (Electronic and Anime Central)

##Recommendations or Guidance##
Travel books and guides are in the apartment for you to use. I have lived in Tokyo for 4 years and can help recommend what sights to see in Tokyo. I also love eating out and can give some great guidance about where to go out for a nice dinner and have a good time.

##Airport Limousine Bus##
I would always recommend taking the airport limousine, as it is the easiest and least amount of stress in getting to Tokyo.
**NOTE** I have provided bus details in the directions section, but please make sure to get off at "Excel Hotel Tokyu" at "Mark City" in Shibuya.

##Tokyo Tour Guides##
After you book and airbnb allows us to share contact and web information, we are happy to refer you to free tour guide services available to travelers.

##Phones or Bike Rental##
I have 3 phones available for rent during your stay for 500 yen a day. These phones allow you to receive all incoming calls for free. You can also call anyone in Japan for free if you keep it under 10 minutes. I can give you more details on the phones if requested.

##Money Withdrawal##
Many banks do not accept international credit cards in Japan. You will either need to use Citibank or a 711 to make a withdrawal. Both of these businesses are a few blocks from the apartment. Also, please contact your bank in advance to inform them you are traveling to prevent a lock on your card when you use it.

My goal is for you to enjoy your stay in my apartment and Tokyo. Please do not hesitate to ask me for anything you may need or suggestions for making your stay easier and more comfortable.

I hope to see you in Tokyo soon!

  • We had a fantastic stay at Glorious Ebisu. The flat is in a great location and very close to the subway for easy sightseeing. The apartment was as described, cosy with lots of character. We stayed with our young son and the pull out futon was very handy. The shower is difficult to use and not so powerful but Jay was very obliging in sorting it out especially when it was as silly as to turn on the gas. The mobile wifi was also really great. We would recommend this flat highly and would definitely stay again. Avril David & Elliot

  • The apt was located perfectly near prime restaurants and grocery stores! Very close to Shibuya, Harijuku (only two stops on the JR) and Roppongi (via Hibiya Line). Also, Dee and Jay were extremely detail-oriented to make our trip convenient and efficient as possible so we did not have any trouble locating the apt. I was sharing it with three other friends and found it spacious/comfortable. Highly recommend for those who are looking for an excellent stay in Tokyo!

    Thanks so much for recommending the apartment Suji! We are so glad that the 4 of you were all very comfortable in our apartment right in the middle of the city center. All of the great restaurants and nice grocery stores near the apartment sure come in handy :)

  • It was wonderful staying at Dee&Jay's place! The location was awesome (though if you're not used to navigating through windy alleys in Japan, it may be a bit hard to find the place at first), the apartment was clean and cozy, and Dee&Jay are experienced hosts. I think the place is best for 2-3 people.

    Thanks for your stay Mika! We're happy you had a great time in the apartment :)

  • This apartment is *fantastically* located. Literally a five minute walk from Ebisu station, and a stone's throw from amazing restaurants galore. The bedding and furniture was clean and comfortable, and we all slept very well while we were staying here. The portable wi-fi access point came in incredibly handy, as did the house guide that was conveniently left out for us. Super awesome!

    The bath was definitely challenging though. For all the pomp and circumstance of starting the water heater, you'd expect an amazing, skin-blasting shower! Sadly, this was not to be -- the water pressure was barely high enough to keep warm in the shower, let alone have our skin blasted off. Granted, we came during a time of record snowstorms and cold in Tokyo, so our experience may not be at all representative.

    That said, we still enjoyed our stay here immensely!

  • Thanks Devin for the kind and quick response during our short stay. Must say the place is well kept as per when it first caught our eye in Airbnb! Very cosy at a reasonable price too. Appreciate the kind hospitality when we needed help. But things need not be perfect to make the trip a memorable and cherished one! Arigato!

  • I am my husband loved Devin's charming apartment and the area. There is a nice balcony and the apartment is quiet.
    The location is very convenient, too - short walk from Ebisu station and nice bars and restaurant around. There is a small store next to it to buy food. Devin was quick to respond and helpful. We will definitely stay there again next time we are in Tokyo.

    Thanks so much Sakurako. We love all of the shops and stores located next to the apartment too and we would be happy to host you and your husband again anytime!

  • Devin & Jacob have a great location here, and were super responsive. I had a bit of trouble with the shower (which is scheduled for replacement) and they were right over to help get things going. Laundry unit was just installed so that will be handier for folks looking for a longer stay. The portable wifi unit is one of the newer 75mbit ones and worked great all over Tokyo. For those who like to talk nerdy the internet latency to San Francisco was around 150ms and worked great for VoIP and RDP. Great place and hosts!

  • Devin's apartment is in a great location. Devin was a great host, quick to respond and very accomodating. The apartment is clean and bright. We were four people (one couple, to singles) and stayed for 4 nights. It was roomy enough for all of us. We had a wonderful stay and I highly recommend this place.

Hey everyone - ようこそ! Thanks for checking out our page! We are both long-term Tokyo hosts who decided to work together to offer our guests the best Tokyo experience available on Airbnb. Tokyo is the worlds most populous metropolis, yet our apartments are designed to make you feel like you never left the comfort of your own home. Whether you are looking to stay in the pulsating urban excitement that Tokyo is synonymous for (Shibuya and Ebisu) or you are more interested in a charming, hip and local neighborhood breeming with trendy vintage shops, delicious restaurants, and cosy coffeebars (Shimokitazawa), we have got you covered. I (Dee) have been in Japan for over 5 years now and currently in the midst of studying for an MBA. When I have free time, I like spending it in Shibuya and Ebisu, two of my favorite neighborhoods in Tokyo. As soon as you set foot in either location, you can’t help but absorb the energy of the city and realize why everyone owes it to themselves to visit Tokyo at least once in their lives! Jay: I (Jay) am a native of California who has been living for nearly ten years in Japan. I enjoy exercising, playing sports, studying new languages, and experiencing different cultures. I love meeting new people and making new friends, so what better way to go about this than by serving as a host on Airbnb in what I feel is the greatest city in the world-Tokyo! In my free-time I love spending it in the ridiculously cool and hip neighborhood of Shimokitazawa - a quick 4 minute train ride from the metropolis of Shibuya. If you are looking for Shibuya and Ebisu listings, you have come to the right place. I have over 10 properties that are all located just minutes from each of the stations. Supplied with all of the amenities you will need during your visit. If you are looking for Shimokitazawa apartments, please check out our other profile (J & D) to see all of the other great apartments we have available! Thanks again for looking. Feel free to drop us a message at anytime with any Tokyo related questions you may have. We’re always happy to help out. ☺ Kampai! ☺ Life motto is “Do not take the road everyone else takes, for it will only get you stuck in traffic.”
