About This Listing
Hello, I have a top floor furnished bedroom to share in the heart of Capitol Hill; an urban residential area situated on a steep hill just east of the central business district. Seattle's best neighborhood for restaurants, nightlife and shopping.
I have a projector set up with a Roku which streams Netflix and Pandora One in the living room. There is a guest Laptop available for your use. I have found most guests don't like to watch TV but watching a movie or your favorite show on the big screen is a great experience. Your welcome to add stations to the apt Pandora One internet radio as well. I just ask you be respectful of the other guests when it comes to the volume.
- Fast wireless internet
- Guest Computer
- Air Conditioning
- Pandora One Internet Radio (no ads)
- Plenty of towels and blankets.
- Wood pellet grill for cooking.
- Incredible dining room and balcony views of downtown Seattle, the Space Needle, and sunsets over the Olympic Mountains.
Interaction with Guests
I spend most of my time currently working at my shop. You will either be sharing my place with another guest or with me and my dog Lucky. I will be in the area or at my shop and will check in periodically in person or via text, email. You're certainly welcome to have a friend over and enjoy a bottle of wine, but this apartment is not for hosting parties.

Calen was a great host! The place was great and the location was awesome. Right in the center of everything you want to get to in Capitol Hill and not a far walk from downtown. I enjoyed getting to know Calen and the other guests too. I'll stay here again and again when I'm in Seattle!
Calen was great, as was the apartment. Everything was as advertised, no surprises. Bed was comfy and sheets were SOFT - must be a high thread count. Also, the location is fantastic. Just be careful of getting stuck on the wrong side of the 5 during rush hour - Seattle traffic is no joke!
I would definitely stay at Calen's again.
Calen was an absolutely amazing host! We had an amazing experience that was made easy for us from beginning to end.
Calen was even super understanding when we were late due to getting lost in public transit. I would recommend this Air BnB time and time again.
As my first time using Air BnB I can say that this has made me want to use it again.
We didn't get the chance to meet Calen until we were leaving but upon arrival, everything was clean and in order. His directions were very clear and easy to follow. Calen was also great at letting us know when other guests were checking-in to the second bedroom.
The neighborhood was great! There are tons of restaurants to eat at and places to explore. It was also nicely located between downtown Seattle (Pike's Market) and Seattle Center. Overall, this was a really good Air BnB experience.
My friend and I had a great stay at Calen's place! We didn't get to meet Calen due to our hectic schedule (there is so much to explore in Seattle!) but he responded promptly to my reservation request and the questions I had along the way. The location is great--it's close to tons of restaurants and the bus stop, so transportation was easy to figure out from there to other parts of the city. I thoroughly enjoyed the view of downtown Seattle and the distant mountains from the balcony--it's absolutely gorgeous at sunset! I would definitely recommend staying here if you're headed to the Emerald City for a trip!

About the Host, Calen
Hello and thank you for allowing me the opportunity to host you on Airbnb. I want to make sure you are comfortable at my place and am more than happy to offer my experiences and insights to navigating the best the Emerald City has to offer.
I am very open and accepting to people from all backgrounds. Your welcome to use anything of mine. All I ask is that you be respectful to my home, respect my privacy as well as my neighbors privacy.
I am 34 years old born in Seattle and grew up just outside the city in Kirkland, WA. I know the Seattle area very well and can offer great insights if you let me know a bit about what your plans are. As for me, typically I've been spending most of my time working out of Ballard which is a neighborhood in the northwestern part of the city.
I have a female dog named Lucky who is about 8 years old now and comes with me sometimes. She still acts like a puppy and has a bad habit of jumping up on people that I don't think I will ever train her out of. Lucky is harmless and has never bitten anyone but she can become territorial at times.
A little more about my background if your curious:
I am a former pro athlete who has worked as a personal trainer and group exercise instructor. I transitioned from one on one training to group exercise sessions leading hour long classes aimed at high intensity cardio, targeted strength building movement patterns and stretching. I'm not currently teaching but am working on the choreography for my next class/bootcamp and hope to teach again soon. I'd love to have my guests join when that time comes. In the meantime I am dedicated to making sure your Airbnb experience is a great one.
