Bahia 10 Review
I originally contracted for Bahia 10, Playa Langosta for June 10 to
July 9. I subsequently extended my stay to July 30. Here is my review.
Bahia 10 is a comfortable, sunlit 1BR/1Bath apartment. The kitchen is completely equipt with pots, pans, cutleries, coffee maker, microwave etc to meet normal cooking needs. Every morning the maintenance guy, Jose, keeps a good natured, persistent battle cleaning the pool of leaves and other drifts from nature, quite successfully, though ephemeric. And once a week, the cleaning lady Carmen, does a thorough job of cleaning the place, changing, and laundering the sheets and towels. William, the owner/caretaker responds promptly to address apartment-related problem. Otherwise, he leaves the tenants alone to enjoy their stay.
The apartment slides out into a good sized kidney shaped heated pool. Around 15 meters beyond the pool is the compound gate which leads 20 Meters or so, to Playa Langosta.
Playa Langosta is a rocky beach, you need to walk around 100 Meters or so, left of the gate, to find a small patch of sandy beach. Maybe
for this reason, and the somewhat isolated location of Langosta, the
Beach is not very crowded. It maybe a good idea to bring a pair of
beach shoes or diving boots to protect your feet from the rocks. I see
a few kids fishing, but never see them catch anything. Just for fun,
you may want to bring your light fishing gear a well.
About 10 or so meters left of the front gate is the end of the line stop for the Santa Cruz/Tamarindo bus. It comes once every hour, more
or less. For 250 Colones, 50 Cents you can take this for a 10-15
minute ride to Tamarindo for sandier beach and restaurants. For 750 Colones and 80 minutes, this bus takes you to Santa Cruz, where the locals live. Coming home is aroud 2,000 Colones (4 Dollars) by Taxi. A white bus going to Liberia, where the airport is, also pass here every hour so.
